An interview with Mr. Russel Francis, a professional cattle hauler.

I hope you learn as much as I about cattle hauling, and trucking , as I did, with Russ - AKA "WoreOut" - as he spends a little time with us.

2005 me and another hand was running feeders from auction to feed lots just as hard as we could when one evening we arrived after everyone at the sale barn was gone for the day. I laid down and when I woke up the next morning I went to wake the other guy up and he was dead. Still sitting in the driver seat his feet were on the brake and clutch. The truck was still in gear and running. He died as soon as we stopped. Miss that old man he taught me so much about cattle hauling and how to keep the cows up and haul asz.

Absolutely great interview, this should be watched by all young drivers, I had a load of canners that were way to light, one got down about 4 hours before the yard. Got her up, then down again. Well after a few of the up and down deal , I get there and unload, she is laid out, looked gone , well , I inspect her , her hair had froze to the floor , I started pulling on her and realized she was alive, so I got her loose for the most part, she had the strength to pull herself loose and she was certainly angry lol. I avoided the hooking and she found the ramp. This is one of the best I’ve ever seen

Helluva good interview. Some good life lessons in there whether or not a person hauls cattle or not. One of the best was something like "when learning it's ok to not know if you care, but some know but don't care". That, and cowsand men both have to have their "want to". RIP Rocket, great interview with someone who is worth listening to!

Great interview w/ a real straight up bull hauler driver . The " ezer to make a cowboy a trucker . Than make a trucker a cowboy " . Damn , did he get that spot on . Gotta grow up with livestock to haul' m - takes years of practice to learn not some g.d. video/ book . Bovine relocation industry ain't about driving a shiny-lit up ride it's about the livestock . 🐂

Sorry to comment again, but this is so real, I did a lot of my life trucking in a Colorado mountain town, Red Mountain one way, Wolf Creek east out , lizard head further west, when he talked about where and how they were loaded , on top of a mountain on a goat trail old logging road barely enough road to get in , to getting hung up in closed roads due to blizzards , or ice storms, etc. producers running just 6 more on to clean up the pen , 15,000 over and up. Running 150 miles around the coups As a rule the most honest group in trucking. May shoot ya or thump ya if you’re out of line, I,m referring to the middle age guys and up as a rule, but trucking in the Montana south to the gulf, I met some outstanding young men in bull hauling, 45 years for me in a truck, not over the road anymore, mainly regional, those mile markers are 5 miles apart now for me seemingly, I occasionally run a load or make a run for the family, and work full time regional, but I’m a kind of a whiny old guy now after 600 miles lol. Great channel and thanks driver , as I said, in my opinion as real as it gets.
