An Interview with Chris Hillman About His New Signature Guild Bass
Музыка
We sat down with Byrd's bassist Chris Hillman to learn more about his Signature Guild Bass design, his time with the Byrds, and his plans for the future!
The Chris Hillman Signature Byrds Bass is Guild’s latest limited edition model, in celebration of the Byrds’ 50th Anniversary. Faithful to the original Guild Starfire Bass used by Hillman on recordings like “Turn! Turn! Turn!”, “Eight Miles High” and "The Times They are A Changing", this new “Byrds Bass” features a semi-hollow all-maple body, rosewood fingerboard, three piece mahogany neck, and single BS-1 BiSonic pickup. The Byrds Bass features the Byrds’ logo inlaid in the 12th fret, Hillman’s signature on the truss rod cover, and a vintage sunburst finish that matches his original.

Everybody loves Chris Hillman!
In 1967, my Father gave me a 1965 sunburst Guild Starfire and a Standel 2x12 amp, which started my career as a musician that I’m still enjoying today. That bass was wonderful and will always hold a special place in my memory. I wish I still had it…
I love how the end segues into the original recording of "Eight Miles High".
Beautiful bass. If I didn’t already own a Jack Casady signature, I’d probably get this one. I’d put round wound strings on it though
What a nice sounding instrument and I loved The Byrds..

Single coils. Made for Guild by Hagstrom in the sixties.
Everybody did not watch Ed every Sunday! I wish people would stop using "EVERY"! It is never true!
