Getting the chain reaction going depends on critical mass being reached in an extremely precise manner, so damaging the warhead with explosives, gunfire, or even just a sledgehammer would cause it to fizzle. It wouldn't be pleasant for anyone within range, but said range would be massively reduced compared to if it had been allowed to go off unimpeded.

people tend to forget that explosives aren´t just an explosive liquid inside, I remember in a role community a lot of people saying that shooting at C4 (well I guess that this one depends) or missiles was dumb.... at least the second one is easier to explain and with recent events in a certain country I guess that now people know that you can counter missiles with missiles(?

@@SeanUCF For games that can be as ridiculous as ace combat I feel a little cringy dialogue works, I find it really silly (in a good way!). I’m probably biased though. And it’s quite likely that there is some “lost in translation” aspect seeing how it’s made by a Japanese company. Iirc “Demon Lord” was supposed to be a pun that doesn’t make sense out of a Japanese context

I don't think he realized that the yellow targets are optional targets that you take out only if you are doing the Mercenary or Soldier paths.

Fun facts about the creation of this video: 0:02 - This intro necessitated me going to multiple discords and making an announcement on my own discord to send me as many AC0 memes as possible. 0:42 - The overlay at the bottom to block the subtitles is made out of screenshots of the briefing and color-corrected pictures of my editing software. 0:55 - The intro to this scene was originally going to explain why Solo Wing Pixy was called that because he "Could only eat one chicken wing in his entire life" but it was unfunny and got cut. 1:14 - You can hear the death music. That was added in post. I played the entire game without music so I could record and add the music in post. It was hell. 2:18 - All cutscenes have almost all of their sound effects dubbed over in post so that I don't have to have their in-game talking interrupt my intentions. This includes ALL of the plane noises, which took long to do just right in post alone. 2:23 - Everyone in Grun except for Grun 1 (Myself) is random people I just asked to send me lines on my Discord. That's also where their portrait images are from - random requests. 2:53 - This was almost cut entirely but I felt it was required to explain why any interviews are occuring. 3:26 - In my opinion this is the worst joke in the entire video 3:58 - Jeff Bezos being here is just a cameo. I felt pressured to include Bezos and Torres again (From AC7) because of how the fans liked him, but I ultimately decided that the video was better off creating its own characters. 4:04 - That Latin is from the Vulgate Bible 4:39 - The original idea for Gelb was going to be that they were vloggers. I did not go with this option. 6:03 - This was not part of the script, I just kept rambling after saying my normal line to see what I would get. The line I got was perfect. There was originally going to be something else there. 6:25 - This is a burger king ad that my brother sent me that caused me to burst out laughing so I forced it into the video 6:46 - The plotline of the announcer being an implied communist saboteur is not meant to be answered or elaborated on. I don't have time to explain every joke plot I make. Sometimes it's better to leave things grey. Why was he doing it? How did he get there? You will not know. 6:48 - PJ was supposed to have a normal voice but I used the wrong voice effect on him and got that nightmare. I thought it was so funny I just changed it to be like that. That's why I'm laughing during one of his lines. 7:58 - Schwarze never had a concrete script in mind, only that I wanted them to be "Chaotic". Schwarze was rewritten and re-recorded 3 different times before I settled on the microwaves. 8:23 - I can only make this noise when genuinely mad. 8:58 - I only had the idea to do this effect from watching Bosh videos. 9:23 - I spent like 20-30 minutes trying to get PJ's voice to sound just right so that it wasn't genuinely annoying to listen to but still kinda funny for most people. He also doesn't talk much as a result. 9:40 - The music here is from a Hearts of Iron 4 mod called The New Order: Last Days of Europe 10:09 - This was re-recorded 3x to get the pronunciation right. I had to do a twitter poll to ask which one was correct. 11:12 - This joke only exists because I was looking at Discord around this time and someone posted a Crazy Hamburger meme 13:03 - This is one of the few times I actually use cutscene sound besides the Pixy fight. There's too much happening to dub over. 13:13 - I use MGR:R music on bosses after this point to steadily build the hype. The normal music for this game here was inadequate for the pacing. 14:01 - This is my mother. 14:14 - I was about to cut this scene for having too much unnecessary explanation but I thought it was funnier to have the player zone out while imagining a monkey in a bathroom 14:52 - The entire Gault squad's personality is based off of how good I thought this one line was. 16:09 - In-game, PJ's last words are literally "dangit". 16:15 - This is a nearly perfect recreation of the actual scene you receive in-game, with some different timing on my lines. 16:26 - Pixy has so many memorable lines that I limited myself to a certain number of them. On the chopping block was "This twisted game needs to be reset" Because it necessitated a joke about resetting the PS2, which threw off the pacing of the final battle too much. 16:50 - I tried to fix this emulator glitch for 30 minutes before I realized it was funnier with the glitch still in. 17:48 - Originally this scene was written to be much longer and more poignant. I realized it didn't matter, because the final battle was so hype in my eyes that there was no need to bring the pacing to a screeching halt - so I ended it with a fast and punchy joke. 17:52 - The music choice here doesn't mesh well with the scene but I just loved the ending vibes it gave too much to change it.

if nukes could fit onto an AIM-54 Phoenix chassis, the F-14 would be able to carry 6 of them, using 6 out of the 8 available hardpoints

Assuming the hardpoints are compatible an F-14 could potentially carry 10 AIR-2 Genie rockets, each with 1.5 kt of yield. Unguided though, but from what I can find the weight would be under the total capacity. Volume limits may be hit first though

To be fair to "Butcher" Harris, in his day getting like 10% of the bombs within a hundred meters of a target the size of a fucking factory was _extraodinary accuracy_ only regularly achieved by the USAAF with its top-of-the-line bombsights and, uh, ability and willingness to eat the extra casualties suffered in daylight raids. ...there's a reason precision weapons and better targeting systems went up fairly high in airforce R&D priority lists afterwards.

Ngl, A Zero inspired game about the Yugoslavia Breakup would be rad.

I won't lie. The comments about Hoffnung and Waldreich both sent chills down my spine. The comments about Hoffnung in particular are so bone-chilling because of how accurate they are of portraying just why it was so demoralizing for people on both sides, and why it led Belka to make the choices it did in the events that followed.

"Is this worth it? How many points did you get?." That scene with the bombers over hofnung was actually low key kinda dark as fuck. But that whole mission was a nightmare looking back on it and seriously messed up.

If you ever play Ace Combat: Joint Assault (don't by the way, it's awful), the main villain Andre Olivieri is basically Jeff Bezos running an insurance company.

The Flat Earth squadron was the best! The bit where they talk about the edge being like a world without boundaries is exactly like the anime character that turns out to be a turncoat and exposits why he/she joined the bad guys, comparing what they devoutly desire to the name of the antagonist group. Great job Max!
