@Ron Edward • not exactly a lot. A combined 6 players (Polamalu, Ward, Roethlisberger, Reed, Lewis, Suggs). You also can throw in Jonathan Ogden and Alan Faneca which would make it 8 combined....4 each. Now if you want to see a rivalry with numerous HOF players, look up the Steelers-Raiders from 1974-76. The Raiders had 10 players (Ray Guy, George Blanda, Kenny Stabler, Fred Biletnikoff, Dave Casper, Art Shell, Gene Upshaw, Jim Otto, Ted Hendricks, Willie Brown), plus Al Davis and John Madden. Steelers also had 10 players (Joe Greene, Jack Ham, Mel Blount, Terry Bradshaw, Franco Harris, Jack Lambert, Mike Webster, Lynn Swann, John Stallworth, Donnie Shell), plus Art Rooney Sr, Chuck Noll and Dan Rooney. That's 25 HOF's combined.

I the last 25-30 years, most of the players never prepare themselves for life after Football. Seems like recently in the last 15-20 years most have gone into broadcasting. How many of those players who left college early went back to get their degree. Some became Lawyers/Judges (Alan Page, Dewayne Woodruff). Some on into politics (Steve Largent). These players need to begin to preparing themselves with all this money the get.

Studies also showed alot of these guys made $10 million dollars a yr and changed the entire dynamic of their families. They don't have to play. They can coach, if your at that skill level the opportunities are stacked for you much less just getting a degree and living a normal life.

From 2008 on, both teams were top 5 teams in the NFL pretty much and the game always had huge implications. Even in the years post SB 47 when the Ravens started missing the playoffs, they had a big game against Pittsburgh at the end of seasons. Losing close games to the Steelers cost them playoff births in 2016 and 2017.

Truly the best rivalry in the NFL. The powerful hits and the overall intensity of the game is like no other. They are professionals and they give it their all in every game but, when the Steelers and Ravens play you can see and feel the increased animosity and aggression. It's just that extra something that you can't name or really explain. It's good old fashioned blue collar ,muddy, bloody, true grit football. This rivalry will continue but, there will be something missing without big number #7 leading the Steelers. The Steelers have some big shoes to fill. Good luck Ben and thank you so much for all the joy and excitement you gave us for the past 18 years. It was truly memorable and we will always remember you as one of the greatest leaders and warriors of the dynasty that is the Pittsburgh Steelers. The city of Pittsburgh will always be your home. I remember how significant this game was for the Steelers. The 2 prior games they played, they scored only 1 TD (W 10-6 vs Browns, L 15-6 vs Eagles). At the half time of this game, the crowd was booing, seeing how anemic their offense was. Whatever was said in the locker room worked. That Santonio Holmes TD was the necessary shot in the arm. The fumble on Flacco was the icing on the cake.

Yeah. This era is my favorite. Two of the best D's in the game against each other, almost always a 3 point game down to the wire. Yes, they hated each other. BUT, they respected each other too. You knew going into the game that some of your players were going to be on the IR list next week.

This is the type of game I see when I think of Steelers vs Ravens. Tough defense and a focus of dominating the line of scrimmage on both fronts. I like offense, but seeing these two teams in a shootout just doesn't feel right at all. This game in particular hits kind of different though, seeing where Roethlisberger and Flacco have ended up, and the fact that they're both likely on their way out. Feels like the end an era for sure.
