    Love your vids man , I’m a young carpenter been qualified for less than a year now and it’s great seeing how you take on jobs and also having a laugh seeing yourself and Tyrell working alongside eachother 😂

    Nice to see a proper job. Just a handy tip, when trenching out the head on a chop saw. Pop abit of door stop between the fence and head. Then the blade will cut level all the way through. Great video 💯

    Great video mate. A little tip with the coving - mitre them when joining longer lengths instead of butting two flat edges together, less chance of cracks appearing. Keep up the good work man!

    To be honest pal, it looks like you are getting rich soon doing £450 a day 😮 wish to get a bit closer to this rate in dry-lining, but looks 👀 like my trade is quite underestimated at the moment… Everyone thinks - if you can screw a plasterboard, you are dry-liner fixer 😢 which realistically is far away from the truth and especially with all the latest drywall technologies 👌 Like watching 👀 your videos, good job mate 👍 keep it going ✊

    When you’re making up your frames mate and you get the head on, just lift your spreader bar for bottom, and hold flush to outside at top.. pencil mark under other side… cut exactly line off. Then just do exactly what you did ( position parallel up from bottom and tack in place. This eliminates extra measuring and any inaccuracies there and also you don’t have to trim anything off. Hope it helps

    @@marycrozier2564 hi Mary, well like all things it was by accident and who you know, I lived in a warehouse community that was basically a build your self environment, I built my mezzanine and I was asked by other people if I could build there’s, just so happens one guy was a location scout who asked if I’d help his friend build a music video set, one thing led to another and nearly ten years later I’m a construction manager.. how I don’t know, I’m not trained in carpentry, just self taught! How would I go about getting in to the industry, well there are a few set builder Facebook groups out there that tout for day Chippy’s on jobs, and to be honest once you do a couple of small things, music vids, commercials etc, if people like you and rate your work, you get call backs, how constant is the work?.. well iv had full years jobs back to back, I’ve hade some years iv literally had three jobs all year, with whole months not working and panicking, so it does depend, touch wood iv always been able to pay the rent, as for rates, well again that’s another issue, there are bectu Union rates, then there’s the ‘it’s only a small budget so we can offer this, so I’d say low end your looking at 150-200 p/d.. high end 300-500p/d low budget movie about 250p/d branded advert 300p/d (but they’re usually for only a few days) big budget films that last months 3-400 p/d as with long running established TV, I say all this, others may say different, so, check out Facebook groups for ‘film tv work’ ‘film tv carpenters’ ‘set jobs uk’…things like that. I hope this helps T.

    Why do you charged a fixed price rather than an hourly rate?

  • @staffh3815

    @staffh3815

    If someone in the building trade offers you an hourly rate beware 😮 unless your there watching them all day they will be drinking tea all day, any tradesman who's any good will offer a fixed price to a certain degree, somethings are unforeseeable

    I’m not sure how old the tiles are but I’d definitely be getting that artex checked before disturbing it, artex that’s older than 1989 will have asbestos in it, that artex pattern resembles the 20-30 years ago shit I do the same shit yet still find myself watching how your getting on in my spare time🤦🏻‍♂️, more because your a decent person than because we do the same trade 👍🏻 I like to see the good people do well bud, far too many arseholes doing alright for themselves, time the good guys were too keep it up, just don’t show where you keep equipment etc it would be a shame if you and the people who enjoy watching your videos were to lose out to thieving scumbags ✌🏻
