I heard about this band recently. It turns out my youngest daughter works with the bassist and is a huge fan. I'm nearly 71 and have always been a big fan of good punk. This is good punk. My daughter has great taste.

I’m 50, I just heard them for the first time last week and I’m a fan. The great thing about punk is that you can separate the phoneys from the real thing almost instantly and these guys are the real thing. I haven’t been this excited about a new band since probably the Misfits.

In my 40's and an old punk rock metal singer. Luckily I had at least one follow me footsteps and it's a proud moment when you and ya kids can share music. Especially when we're punks. I only just found this band and immediately sent it to my daughter, I know she'll be asleep, but she'll be happy to wake up to some really well produced punk rock. Why? So the genre of rock can continue to stagnate and die? This music is incredibly bland, generic, trite, and ultimately worthless. I think it's crazy that someone would not only listen to something this boring, but actually be happy that it continues to exist. I think music should be moving and more interesting directions (like Autechre and Death Grips are doing) not regressing.

I don't about that. The fire and energy of the 60s may be there but the protest isn't. At least in the 60s and 70s, bands that played this type of sound stood for something that was trailblazing. I see magazine reviews on this band calling the lead singer the new Wendy O. Williams which she is far from on many levels. I've been following this band since their public inception and as of late I feel like I'm watching them in their twilight as they release a new record that is full of the same rehashed aesthetics deeming them more and more a "one-trick" pony. That said, their music is very good and fun, especially that first record. But visually it is very trite and their influences are too obvious.
@davidfrancis5514
2 жыл бұрын
@@morganyoungisplayingdrums I'm sure you don't mean to, but you sound pretentious as fuck. Just quit reading magazine reviews and quit making fucking comparisons. Every comment I make, somebody's always got to say, "Yeah, but they're not as good as so and so." Some things don't need a comparison. "Oh, The Clash thinks they can do reggae. What a load of bollocks. They're not as good as Toots and the Maytals." All 60s and 70s bands "stood for something" ? Yeah, Niles, Giles, and Miles went really deep. Personality Crisis - definitely about gov't corruption and Watergate. Cars and Girls - this was Dick's cry to stop the superficial consumerism getting a stronghold in America. Most of my all time favorite rock'n'roll is just good time, raucous rock'n'roll - it doesn't have to have a fucking meaning or protest anything. Now, go write some Armizan reviews while I drive by the stop and shop with my radio on.
