What a beautiful scene you have painted with your words. So sad those kind of days will never be again, most performers today think they can’t sing unless they’re almost naked, screaming obscenities, or fondling themselves on stage.

I disagree. She was blessed to have a granny and father who introduced her to jazz and then she put in an enormous amount of work during her childhood and teens to train her voice and develop her own vocal style. It was no miracle. Hard work. Long hours. Alone. She definitely did that.

I have this wonderful image in my mind of Amy back in the 50s/60s, sharing the stage with the likes of Dinah Washington or Billie Holiday, Etta James, Shirley Bassey, Diana Ross or Eartha Kitt and blending in perfectly with their sound/soul/rhythm. Amy really was one of a kind. Her genes were incredible. She had the voice, the looks, the style, the attitude and the rock n roll life style. Someone like Phil Spector would've loved her. I don't think of her as that poor drug-raged alcoholic addictive personality - I think of her voice and the beauty that shone out of her. The drugs are irrelevant. Maybe she was meant to live a brief life because of future hardship and illness. Who knows. Life is a mystery but it seems some of the greatest singers/artists are taken in their prime.

You Have Truly Expressed The Same Feelings As I ! -Sarge
Ela era sublime, incomparável, espetacular... não há outras palavras. Uma menina de 20 anos cantando dessa forma uma música como essa ...
This brings tears to my eyes; this was her true genre; jazz not rock. Gone too soon
I'll use that star to write "I love you" a thousand times across the sky... 😩❤
"I kissed a girl and I liked it...." what the hell? How that shit could be a hit? Taylor Swift considered a " genius", Shakira playing the superbowl.... are we crazy? Amy was a true and talented musician. The best since the golden jazz era. Fucking drugs. What a great loss! Rest in peace

Superbowl isn't about musical talent, it's about fame and popularity, getting eyeballs.

@@pocnit yes, I know. It's a really big show and that's what counts. The bad news is that that is the same problem with most of the new "artists" and their "music". It's all about the popularity, the image sold on the websites etc not the talent. That's why I,m thankful for the musicians I grew up with. Keep safe! 🤟🏻🎸
I cant stop listening to her. Every single one of her songs is unforgettable.
