Amy saved my life as a little boy. Just last week, I was able to fly to Nashville and hang out with her backstage. She is everything you'd think she'd be. We hugged each other multiple times. She was so present. Felt like family. She started writing music because it helped her to try and understand life. She isn truly an awesome human. I told all. ❤️

Amy defined my teen years in music worship and when I was pregnant with my son “Baby Baby” was released and I sang it to him in my womb. I found out she wrote it for her babes and it made it more meaningful. The song still makes me emotional. Thank you Amy.

As a young man and a missionary in Brazil, I had little opportunity to hear Christian music in English since we all spoke Portuguese. But I had brought a little Christian music with me, and Amy's album Age To Age was one of the tapes. I wore that thing out, and there were times when I wanted to go and be alone with the Lord, I could almost hear the Lord say, "Bring Amy along...okay?" and I would! Her music helped me get through the lonely times on the mission field, and I can honestly say she and I became friends through that one album even though we have never met.... thanks Amy...

I literally grew up with Amy, from "Old Man's Rubble" to "El Shaddai". I was surprised when "Find A Way" crossed over. I understand "Behind the Eyes" being one of your all-time favorites, but "Lead Me On" is mine. And the first time I heard "Baby Baby" on the radio, I actually called the radio station to confirm that that was an Amy Grant song. I so immediately loved it!! I will say my favorite song is off the "Behind the Eyes" album: "The Feeling I Had" - like most of Amy's songs but even moreso - captures exactly the hope, the loss, the optimism and the sadness of life and moving on. I am so happy that she received this honor. She richly deserved it, and I will be forever grateful for the decades of music she gave me and the world. She is truly an amazing person. To paraphrase Patti, when you talk about Amy, you talk about love. 🙂

To be fair, she was demonized by LGBT activists when she wouldn't make her stance on gay marriage clearer 10 yrs ago. She has been criticized by both sides throughout her career and the Amazing thing about her is that it doesn't faze her. She literally keeps her eyes on God not Man.

Had she been honest about what the Bible says about homosexuality when asked years ago (the Bible being the basis of her Christian faith), this wouldn't have happened. Fact. She would have been canceled. Not awarded. I'm sure she's very aware of that fact.

  • @firstthes2811

Absolutely. She compromised the Bible and was awarded by a bunch of fellow compromisers for doing so. "For what does it benefit a person to gain the whole world, and forfeit his soul?" -Mark 8:36 And btw, for those that say Christians are haters for telling it like it is biblically speaking, you have exactly backwards because I can't think of a greater way to hate than to tell someone, who is offering the Lord, that they aren't. Heck, it's worse than not telling someone they're about to get hit with a truck.

Actually the most important thing that Bible says about homosexuality is;" You shall love your neighbor as yourself." ... so to be homophobic, reject gay people and trying to steal them the opportunity to be in love, happy and having a family is not in line with the spirit of God's love... some churches already figured it out, some will catch up in couple of years; Amy Grant is such a loving and good person that she already knows what is fair and decent

@@a27garbo Wow, what bible are you reading bc that couldn't be more ridiculous? Both OT and NT are crystal clear on the issue and not being honest w/ those setting themselves up for judgement by God is the exact opposite of love, it's flat out hateful. And certainly nothing that God says is sinful and lustful is love from His perspective.

@@firstthes2811 Well I guess you are not familiar with the 2 principle of love that Jesus spoke (On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets.)... actually it's not crystal clear, there are many parts of the Bible which are metaphoric and if taken literally, we would still be stoning people and burning witches...you cannot have the interpretation of a random sentence from the Bible as "being gay is sinful" and "love your neighbor" at the same time, you picked which to follow, for me "love your neighbor" is the priority, God gave us our common sense and put love in our heart to know the difference.... , you also need to work on your "“Do not judge, so that you won't be judged."
