Amy Grant My Father's Eyes Live On soundstage for Koinonia TV Show August 1979
Музыка
Another rarity-Amy Grant performing "Father's Eyes"-taped for a tv show locally here in 1979, but don't believe was ever used for a aired show although a couple of other ones taped at the same time were. From the master.
2022 Update: Taped for Roy Hicks Jr.'s Koinonia TV show in Eugene, Oregon. I really don't know whether all the songs I've upped from the taping aired or not, because I don't have the final show master. In any event you can find all the songs from that taping by searching Amy Grant and Koinonia now. I'm told Amy doesn't remember doing this, but those of us that were here at Faith Center then certainly do, and it's nice to be able to share that with you.

So sweet, innocent, and charismatic. It's no wonder she blossomed into the music legend she has become.
Beautiful!! This moved me to tears. What a blessing it was for me to discover Amy as a kid back in 1982 and to be touched and influenced by songs like this ever since! Thank you, Amy, for letting God's light shine through you for over 40 years!

Veronica Herrera: Where did you meet Amy Grant? I shook Amy's hand when I ran up to the stage at a Toronto concert, Maple Leaf Gardens, in 1990s' House of Love Tour; Gary Chapman put me and my friends off with his attitude so much that I complained to Friends of Amy and got an apology but also that it was the way Gary was!
I’ve always loved her. My mom used to play this song back in the 1980’s.
Amazing, Amy! So very young, not even 20 yrs old
I sang this song in salem oregon at a church when I was a young girl :) my first standing ovation.

I played this song at a piano recital around 1984. No standing ovation for me, but I cherish the memory and still have the cassette recording of it, which I transferred eventually to CD and mp4.

💕 Hi ! I sang El Shaddai, also in church, as a young adult. I had the music sound track cassette. No ovation for me either, but I also cherish the moment ! 🙋🏻♀️
She looks so young back in the day
Most of my life nmmy dad here on Earth barely looked at me, but I later learned my Father in Heaven, His eyes never left me. Glory to Almighty God in Jesus Christ and The Holy Spirit Amen 🙏🙄❤️🥀
She is phenomenal. Discovered her about 1980-1981. She's awesome!

WHAT TALENT YOUNG WOMEN WHO COULD PLAY THE GUITAR SO GOOD AND SING IN A BEAUTIFUL SOFT VOICE GRANDPAWWW CAN'T GET ENOUGH AWESOME!!!!!
I have a specific memory of hearing this on the radio in my parents red station wagon sometime in the early 90's. I was about 7 ish and it was a hot summer day. Love this song
Now, THAT'S WHAT YOU CALL an extremely well preserved video roll, probably straight off the 1" Spool "U-Matic™" Broadcast Tape Cartridge, complete with title cards & a slightly unedited intro. I know I'm doing this comment in "Engineering & Technical-speak", yet still, even us old & retired Christian Soundstage & Post-Production engineers and directors, still fully appreciate & cherish these retro, vintage recordings, that were given the meticulous foresight to preserve & "handle-it-with-care" notion, for more than 4 long decades. Yeah, exactly what I pulled that off of. There's more but I think I only uploaded two bits from it including this.

@@randylayton5811 You're kidding? I mean...my shot in the dark guess, was indeed a U-Matic format broadcast cartridge! The industry, at that time, used a few higher (and even lower quality) tape mediums back in the 1978-1980 time era, but that was just a wild, but strong hunch on that; glad I struck 100% on that guess! I'm even totally impressed that there was a REAL sound engineer present, with condenser microphones, proper parametric equalization and probably "the production standard" UREI limiter on her vocal track, as well as an analog plate reverb. The excellence of that short recording, STILL holds up high to the standards of today...and to tell you the truth, with today's digital binary code, consisting of highly compressed codecs embedded with lossy format protocols...PROBABLY EVEN MUCH, MUCH BETTER!!! @@randylayton5811 Hi.. You reupload this one "Fathers Eyes" recently... So you did it twice... Apparently the numbers at the beginning of all the tracks go up to #7(Lay Down)... But I only found 6 total ...that you uploaded.... I'm thinking that when you uploaded this one a 2nd time... You were actually intending to upload the one track that is missing.. Just a thought.
This is a beautiful young woman because she radiated the light of Christ genuinely. God used this woman's song to wake me up to the light when I heard the truth in her voice as she sung a song over the radio. The truth was there, pure and authentic in a way I never heard it before, I instantly knew deep inside that I loved this woman and I had only heard one song. Her light shined out of her face , voice, lyrics and that drew me in like a moth to a light. After some time I figured out that it was God's spirit in her radiating out and that's what I was noticing. You can see the light beaming out of her in this video and many others.
This is one of 3 live versions of My Father's Eyes sung by Amy Grant that I like and agree with. THANK YOU so much for posting this!
I believe KZread is truly a God send... Be able to see these gems are amazing

woweeeee so young
Beautiful !
Excellent picking work. Very clean. Of course beautiful voicing.
Dear Amy, what is amazing is that you are even more beautiful now. Call it a hunch, but it may be because of your relationship with Jesus. I heard the funny story, of when you were younger, you shaved away your "widows peak". Well, I think it is quite becoming, and some of the details of God's creation are perfectly set. Wonderful song Amy and God bless your marriage with Vince. :)
good

Oregon...i went 78 and 79. I think they also had these later in Vancouver but man, that was long ago so my memory isn't what it was. Glad you enjoyed the clip.

Randy Layton I really don’t remember if it was 78 or 79 for me but it must have been Oregon. I remember it was in a big field and we all just sat around on the grass in front of the stage and listened. Amy was there and a guy named Mike Warnke who gave an amazing testimony. My sister and I rode up in a tiny motorhome with a friend and her young son and spent the nite.
