Agree that the chemistry between them was obvious, but they were both married while carrying on like this. I'm not going to judge them, but feeling good about someone doesn't justify two divorces.

I was a young teen when this song played on VH1 and I Could see in the video there was chemistry and possibly something goin goin on. Then it came out that she divorced her husband and married him a few years later

I stopped listening to Christian music when I was 13 years old after I learned that my favorite artists smoke, drank, and did drugs. There were a lot of interviews, it was well known.

I’m the one who listens to this beautiful song in 2024.
Amy sings this so effortlessly and with comfort and peace. Certainly can see what Vince saw in her after his tumultuous first marriage.
After all these years I’m still in love with Amy Grant.
I listened to this song over and over -- and believed it -- when my true love and I were separated. It gave me hope because I knew we were meant to be together. And now we are, and it's so good.

Beautiful song! One of my favorites by Amy&Vince. Their voices complement one another’s so well. They’re such a lovely couple and their deep love shows. They are truly meant to be together. Amy tried so hard to make it work with Gary, but he made the choice of drugs, and his “drug life”- putting that first over Amy and their kids. I know how how that is. I forgave my ex repeatedly until finally there was nothing left. I’m grateful that God kept my children and I safe, as He did with Amy and her children. We finally could forgive our ex’s abuse, from a distance. To find happiness and love again is an amazing blessing! 🙏🏼🕊🙏🏼

First of your assuming, Gary was a born again Christian and, no, wasn’t abusing drugs and, no, he wasn’t abusing her and her children or anything like that, stop assuming and, talking about things you don’t know! First of all they knew each other when, they were younger and, they were out growing their relationship was more like it and, they actually remained friends and, he went on and, has had a solo career of his own and he got remarried!

I hadn't heard this in decades and then it was on the radio as I was driving and I thought it was an early 70s soul thing - y'know, like I knew it and then the tag line came on and I appreciated the song in a way I just didn't at the time: This is a Marvin Gaye/Tammi Terrell style song. Those vibes.

Yeah it’s undeniable. You should check out the sparks flying between them on their duet of “Tennessee Christmas” from Vince’s TV Christmas special back in ‘93. You can see the strong attraction all over both of their faces

This is where it all began and took off for Amy and Vince! You can certainly tell this was two people falling in love very deeply! No matter what there situation was with previous marriages at the time. I am still so happy for them both ! And you can definitely see the love in their eyes here!

I love this song. Seeing them together is adorable - you can tell Vince is HOOKED. And 20 years later - he still is. So is she. The respect and love these two show for each other is something everyone should emulate in their own way. BTW: Amy & Vince did not get together until Amy's divorce was final. Vince was already divorced. They didn't cheat.

The emotional affair of the heart was in full steam prior to the divorces. Amy Grant can justify it all she wants ~ but I'd beg to differ that when Vince Gill's wife found the love note from Amy in Vince's bag there was nothing innocent about it. Not rumor but documented by Gill's ex-wife.
I’ve always loved this song and the album it came from since it came out in the 90s. I would listen to it all the time with my aunt. She passed away a week ago and I have been listening to this song on repeat and remembering the wonderful memories :).

What is up with all the negative comments-its always the "good" christian folk that casts the first and continual landslide of stones of judgement at people. None of us know what provoked a divorce but you know what its none of our damn business.
You can really see the chemistry between Amy and Vince in this video long before they were together. The lights were coming on in the house of love! It's like they were singing about themselves.

I remember listening to this song as a child, back in 1996 or 97 and never hearing again but it got stuck in the back of my head for almost 20 years. It got me thinking that it must be a heccin good song if it's been trapped in the back of my head for this long. Yeah, it's a fantastic song, the duet is flawless and the lyrics are perfect! If I ever get married, this is going to be my song!
