I totally disagree. The mid 1990's was when things in America started to get really dark and depressive culturally, socially, and economically. The music quality fell off significantly and the music being put out had dark, depressive, evil vibes. The current opioid crisis and mass shootings also started way back in the late 90's. Again... for me 1980's to EARLY 1990's (1990 - 1993) was one of the best eras of America. But your entitled to your opinion. I just respectfully disagree.@@quanashiab.9620

My mom dedicated this song to me. She told me that when she got in the car after leaving the hospital and finding out she was pregnant with me, this was the song playing on the radio. She would sing it all the time throughout my childhood. She was my world. The most amazing woman I've ever know. It broke me when she passed away in 2009 when I was 16. Hearing this song though... It helps. Ill never stop missing her and ill always be her baby.

Yes, we are most fortunate to have grown up when artists performed music with good melodies, good lyrics, genuine up lifting emotions and vocal talent. These days are the dark ages for the kids growing up and they will never relive their Gaga, Bieber, current top 40 corporate created soulless depressing decadent pop singers with electronically altered voices in 5, 10, 20 years. I for one will continue to listen to the good music that I grew up on till my twilight years. Nothing comes close to the positive vibe in the late 80s, early 90s music.

I'm friends with anyone who loves their mom. My mother is slowly fading. I'm trying to spend as much time with her as possible before it's too late. This song was always playing in the car when she would drive me to school. When I was young, this song this song seemed to be always playing in the car when she would drive me to school. This song brings back so many good memories. Summer of 91 when this song came out I was 15.. I had my first boyfriend. The summer ended we broke up. And we always want to get back together but our friends got in the way. And we just went our sperate ways. 31 yrs later we found each other again. And pick up right where left off. Me I was 7 and we just immigrated to America from the Philippines and we were staying with my aunt for a year and then after that, like two years later, we up and buy a house! Been in that house since!

she is all of my church choir memories and more. her voice is just happiness. i miss when this sort of innocence was celebrated. thanks Amy for El Shaddai and everything else after.

This is probably one of the best Pop Songs of all time. This was a great transition song from the wild and experimental 80s into the exuberant and optimistic tone of the early 1990s. Thanks Amy for an all time classic. @AmyGrantOfficial Can we get a re-mastered HD Video upload? We've already passed the 30th anniversary, but would be great to see it updated.

My son was 1 when this song came out, I use to dance with him in my arms and sing along when putting him to sleep, he smiled at every note... beautiful memories

The good '90s... Madonna, Mariah, Celine, Whitney, Janet, a lot of talented artists with amazing music.

My mom used to play Amy Grant's album when she would clean the house. Mid 90's, and I was just a kid. Instant shot in nostalgia. Wishing everyone the best. Childhood's never coming back, but hopefully the good memories stay for as long as possible! 👍
