Amy Grant - JEHOVAH

Музыка

Consider the lilies of the field
Solomon dressed in royal robes has not the worth of them
Consider the lilies of the field
He takes after each and every need
Leave all your cares behind
Seek him and you will find
Your father loves you so
Consider the lilies of the air
For all of the diamonds in all the earth have not the wealth of them
Consider the creatures of the air
Jehovah loves them with tender hands
He knows your every care
His touch is always there
To see you through the night
[Chorus:]
And Jehovah I love you so
And Jesus I want you to know
For all you've done for me to set me free
I'll never let you go
Consider the lilies of the field
For how much more does he love his own if Yaweh cares for them
Consider the creatures of the air
He takes after each and every need
If we ask Him for bread
Will He give us a stone
Jehovah loves His own

When I was 20yrs old I accepted the Lord Jesus Christ in my heart. At Calvary chapel Las Vegas. On a Friday night I got to the sanctuary 30 minutes early so work lights the brother that taught me how to work the S&L told me that I could go down stairs take the night off because Mrs. Grant's people have it handled. One of the youth pastors sayed," here Jim saved you a seat in row 4" I sat down next to some people with a baby in a bassinet. The next thing I know the man and his wife go up front pick up a guitar and start playing straight ahead. Thank you for posting this. It brings back memories of my first year in the body of Christ. Love when people realize that you are supposed to have good music and fun in fellowship

Just for playful kicks (and if you have money) maybe you should buy yourself or go in half and half with a sibling or bf, on Final Draft or their competitor, Movie Magic and just tinker before you get any younger. Screenplays are not written by some demonic Hollywood factory or underground new age movement. They are the sermons of the future and are just about always written by people like you and me. FDraft might also come with Novel writing functions. I am way too booked and busy to help or coach you any further than this in any way, but good luck.

Greetings, young learning one. I am one of your big brothers in the faith. I have commented here once before. Yet, after much sincere sharing of the Scriptures with the person you yourself now converse with, I came to note a willful resistance on the part of this one to many of the teachings from our organization that she sees to be for her good. Here she capitalizes on a small misunderstanding on your part in an effort to justify her disregardance of God's EARTHLY place for her own self.

We usually assume that a person using God's name is one of Jehovah's Witnesses because none of the other religions are known to honor Him with it in everyday regularity. Most overuse the name of His Son Jesus in replacement in total defiance of even what the Jesus himself said on this subject in regard to what we should practice. Yes, even the preachers of these religions are known to disobey his word in behalf of God at Matthew 6:9.

  • @ShaneIrwin7

    @ShaneIrwin7

I agree with you, except that Jehovah is likely not even the name. I like how the new and very accurate LSB Bible translates it as Yahweh. This seems to be correct. And I seriously wish nobody had ever translated the name Yeshua into Jesus or any other version. Why can’t we leave Yeshua as is? (For any language)

  • @seereeuss

    @seereeuss

    Жыл бұрын

@@ShaneIrwin7 The thing is NOTHING we ourselves "like" without any God-expressed foundation should be a thing we focus on ABOVE that which GOD assigns us to be sharing with people message-wise. New languages have come into being. And we speak them as they are spoken according to the custom for these. My own name is NOT spelled in it's original form and yours probably not either. Yet neither of us have a problem with that. No PERSONAL issue of our own comes up there. So, why here? Obviously, many simply resent the fact that one particular religion rose up out from among the others and made the case for WHY the Almighty God should BE distinguished with a name, doing so in the face of all these religions we have that weren't using ANY name at all.

So when a Christian like Amy Grant gives honor to the name of Jehovah, it is no different than when she gives a witness to the name of Jesus (Acts 1:8). She becomes one of "Jehovah's Witnesses" not by joining an organization, but by her witness to the Savior who is ONE.

In the Bible, God says: “I am Jehovah. That is my name.” (Isaiah 42:8) Although he also has many titles, such as “God Almighty,” “Sovereign Lord,” and “Creator,” he honors his worshippers by inviting them to address him by his personal name. What about the most important of all names-Jehovah? What does it mean? When Moses asked God about His name, Jehovah replied: “I shall prove to be what I shall prove to be.” (Exodus 3:14)

  • @OJubilee13

There's no harm in the "overuse" of the name of Jesus Christ when even the New World Translation says disciples would be WITNESSES OF JESUS to the most distant part of the earth (Acts 1:8). It was in the name of Christ that many have suffered according to 1 Peter 4:14. In fact, "every tongue should openly acknowledge that Jesus Christ is Lord to the glory of God the Father" according to Phil 2:11. So it does not dishonor Jehovah at all when Christians claim Jesus as Lord, for He is.

Hi, Jennifer. I'm the writer of this song. The story behind where she added her name to the lyric was actually based on my original recording. At some point during vocal recording, I began adding "a" to some of the lyrics. Consequently, the chorus sounded like so: "For all(a) you've done(a) for me to set(a) me free ..." Her producer changed that final chorus to where she spoke her name. The rest, as they say, is history. Be blessed.

True. Jesus & Father "are one" yet "Father is greater" cuz "God is Spirit." Son was limited being in the form of men/flesh. He represented Jehovah, not as "a god" but the word that "was with God" and "was God" from the beginning & "the word became flesh" which is what died on the tree. God is Spirit and did not die. The Spirit is greater than the flesh. "He who raised Christ Jesus from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through His Spirit who dwells in you." (Ro 8:11)

the thing is--at what point when admitting error has the watchtower retroactively re-instated anyone disfellowshiped for not towing the line that was later admitted as being error..when in fact they had been right? And did not the disciple walking with his comrades on one side of the road reprimand them for getting upset that another called upon the name of Jesus who were not walking with them saying that they were indeed very likely Christ's own as well as they themselves?

Um... I used to say that too until I said that to a Jehovah's Witness' face & they smiled & graciously showed me in my own bible that all the info in all their literature, like the Watchtower & Awake, are totally backed up by all the scriptures sited as references. So, yeah they really do ONLY RELY ON THE BIBLE. :)

Finally, here I say this: At Matthew 28:18-20 Jesus Christ the Son of Jehovah God gave a command that is to be followed by EVERY true Christian. He ordered us to GO... GO... GO... to all people of the world and serve as witnesses and teachers in connection with his words - words mainly about a new Kingdom to hope in. Thus, Jehovah God's Christian Witness OBEY the authority of Jesus. And we reject people who want to join us bringing the idea of rebelling against his orders. See also Matthew 24:14

Jehovah is the Hebrew term for God, but the term has deeper significance, Hebrew language is more complex as it relates to God’s different titles as it relates to us and how he meets all of our needs. Example Jehovah Jireh - My provider There are 12 terms that the Hebrew describe our Lord God. All of them begin with Jehovah

there are two halves to amy's career: pre- heart in motion and post heart in motion. her best work was before heart in motion in my opinion. as you can tell i have somewhat extensive knowledge in christian music history focusing on a handful of artists and the 1980s. in other words, i am a know it all.

Nailed me? How?! Again: Jeremiah 10:23 talks of the Lord God directing our steps. It does not apply to worship. Psalm 111:10 says that the fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom. How does THAT apply?

As I far I look back and read here, it has NEVER YET been the Watchtower Society that I myself have EVER quoted. I responded to a claim that YOU - you yourself made asserting that independent minds have a right to use their own thinking to decide for themselves how they would like to serve God His worship. And that is why I nailed you with God's words at Jeremiah 10:23 and Psalm 111:10.
