I’ve traveled in both and the newer one wins for me ! I’m going on Cardinal train from NY to WV in a week booked a roomette there and a bedroom back . Super excited! Love traveling by train 🚂 it’s a whole adventure

Thanks for the comparison. I have always gotten the viewliner I for many yrs. I normally get a roommette up & down the East coast. I think this next trip coming up I'm finally getting the newer car- viewliner II

I appreciate the new Viewliner Il's, but miss the toilets in my roomette. The community toilets are cleaner than coach, but by the 2nd day, they can be filthy if people don't clean up after themselves.

I bought a roomette on the lake shore limited to Boston. I hope I'm in the viewliner ii.

I do get emotional when pooping. This is why I like a private toilet.

You realise that these roomettes are often shared. Not to mention how bad it would smell in such an enclosed space

I think the real reason why Amtrak uses Viewliners on some routes is because certain routes have platforms that are too high for Superliners.

Not platforms, but tunnel, bridge clearances, etc.
