I just picked up a 2002 J12T with the same noise you described. Put 2 new matched EL84s and still have the same problem.??

I had sent to me to brand new two El34 and they where microphonic and they had been tested before shipment. May be they where not tested for microphonic but OK on their tube tester, got a full refund.

Do you do anything solid-state? I have a randall rg80es snakeskin that powers on and makes noise but sounds like death. I'd love for someone to fix it
