AMK 1/48 Mig-31 FOXHOUND Part 2 - OIL WEATHERING and FINISH

The beast is finally done with a lot of effort in oil weathering, repainting the missiles and hand painting the canopy seals.
Lots of photos at the end - very hard to photo such a big jet, but was worth it in the end!

Both part 1 & 2 were so good at the way you used multi-layering in the build up and final blend of the colors to get the effect you were after- great work - keep it up

Its a very solid build, much better than the Hobby Boss version. I would go 1/72 next time though, its really big in 1/48! Cheers, Chris

@@beckersmodels 20:12 Strikes me that Bird S**t must play a big part in weathering -when you're parked outside !? 'specially if you have seagulls !

Noticed some of ur staining is running towards starboard and port directions. Shouldn't they all be running in direction of wind towards the aft? I'm new, so may have no idea.

Thanks Rick - its a Flightpose stand - you can get 2/4/6 inch versions and then swap out the legs to make it a bit more dynamic. Glad I repainted those missiles! Cheers Chris

One of the tools you showed were micron pens. Where did you use those?

Hi Paul, I used them on the exhausts to do the high temperature purple/blue effects. You dab a little on with the pen and then pull in back and forth with a cotton bud/Q-Tip. Cheers Chris

Hi Mel, its a Flightpose Stand, I change out one of the 4" high rods for a 6" version from another version (they come in 2", 4" and 6" high) to give it that lean/pose. Cheers, Chris
