Man the Venture X sounds great. It feels like that paired with the Amex gold would be a great combination in terms of categories. The platinum just gives so many applicable credits to me though. I have to go back through your videos to see how the reserved stacks up when it has the trifecta behind it since the other two Chase cards wouldn’t have annual fees. This is great content!

Im running the SavorOne with my venture X. That 3 percent on dining, streaming, entertainment, and groceries helps a lot to maximize. Then you have the 2 percent catch all. Not to mention the Capital one 8 percent on its entertainment and the other ticketing service. AS well as the limited time partnership with uber/uber eats for the 10 percent gains. Granted I'd take this all with a grain of salt as I dont see how Capital One can maintain this card with these rewards while operating at a loss with everyone that keeps the card from year 2 onward. Personally I think it will get the nerf bat eventually. Whether that be a nerf to its earning categories or an overall AF hike, I do believe the current iteration won't last forever.

  • @isaiah1931

@@CrowsRevenge1 Yes I’m debating the SavorOne over the Amex Gold. I’m worried about having to keep up with the credits for too long with the $250 AF. I was also considering the Amex blue cash everyday card with the 3% back on the gas I think I’m going to go with the Citi custom cash card since I can get 5% back on gas alone. Then I want the Venture X but like you said I feel like it’ll get hit soon and the platinum seems a lot more secure in its benefits and credits. Right now I’m leaning the Citi custom cash, the SavorOne and the Platinum. As of now I have the Discover It, the PayPal 2% cashback and the Apple Card. Platinum would be my only AF card and I’d use roughly $1000 in credits per year.

I have the Venture X and I absolutely love it!! One of the things that I really wanted in a premium travel card is lounge access. The Venture X gives you access to CO lounges, Plaza Premium and Priority Pass. The card annual fee really pays for it self. I love that they give you 10,000 bonus miles each anniversary. That's a nice perk that I haven't seen on a lot of cards. The VX is a good choice for me bc it's a great middle ground card. With its $395 annual fee, it's travel card that gives you more benefits than a 0 annual fee travel card gets you but it doesn't have a high annual fee like the platinum card which is $700.

Hmm the Chase Freedom cards have elevated bonuses right now with the $200 + 5% on groceries in the first year up to $12k. Venture X's bonus has been pretty much the same. @@KevinYang I just figured out that right now the freedom flex and unlimited are offering 5% back on grocery. The freedom flex this quarter is also offering 5% back on grocery. So if I go with the freedom Flex the 5% (grocery) from the bonus offer and the 5% (grocery) from the quarterly bonus will stack. So I’ll go with freedom flex for now. Do you happen to know if chase allows/will approve if I apply to both freedom flex and unlimited? I read somewhere that many times when someone applies to multiple cards at once they will only need to do one hard inquiry so it won’t affect credit score as much? This venture x hype needs to stop , especially the fact the capital one is a terrible institution.

Yup… Can’t reallocate credit/3 hard pulls/ hard to create a set up with limit on cards they allow. It’s a crappy institution that put out a okay card. Kind of like if huawei put out an iPhone competitor - would you really want one from them?

@@santiagosantander212 you got it the KZread credit guys dont really talk about those major pitfalls , i believe if more people were aware they would not sign up for this card.

Venture X pays for itself, nothing to lose there. CPR after credit will cost you about $250. Amex platinum on the other hand is over hyped and overrated. Most people justify it by asking for a retention offer. If the card is that great and you can justify the coupons, why ask for a retention offer?

@@kaymicah5309 Agreed about the Venture X paying for itself. Especially for those who aren't getting new cards very regularly and want a one-size-fits-all (or most likely to be one), it's a solid choice!

@@KevinYang Go Puff isn't in my area. Door Dash pass is useless because they markup their items so I never use it. Instacart has a lot of fees when I go go inside my local store and grab my stuff myself. Only the $300 travel credit can be used by me and then I'm still shelling out $250 compared to less with the Platinum & Venture X.

@Rezalion if you take Lyft rides often enough that's a pretty useful way to add up the points amd offset the fee
