It is made using birch tree sap. It is quite common drink in Estonia and in lot of other countries especially in spring (when it is collected)

All of those sweets came to your countries when they were parts of USSR, because they are Russian sweets (praanik is dated 8th century Russia). :) I know your governments told you to hate Russians for the past decades, but Russian Empire and USSR actually gave you more good than bad (favourite foods, schools, infrastructure, power plants, etc.).

When I was at this metal festival they sold sauna beer. It basically tasted like a birch tree soaked in brine for some years. Also, where the hell was kohuke? I absolutely love kohuke and it's genuinely Estonian!

birch beer is huge over in pa, and its pink! i use it like root beer in root beer floats and its really pretty and yummy. i imagine the candy is delicious too.

Yay! One of the sweets is from my country. The sweet is called Laima. and the country: Latvia

I'm from Russia. And I think that these sweets are common not only in Estonia, but also in other European countries from the Soviet Union

I'm From Estonia and have eated they. Funny to listen spelling of candies.

This makes me long to go back to Estonia! I will say that things felt a lot better there before they joined the EU. Still want to back and try more foods!
