Fork Handles has some quite dated references - half of the terms have fallen into disuse. The Blackberry sketch is relatable for younger viewers, though it won't be long before you'll have to explain to your grandkids what a Blackberry was.
If "Four Candles" is a little advanced for you, try "Swedish Made Simple" - still classic Two Ronnies and I guarantee you'll get that one! There's also "Mastermind" which I'd put at intermediate level 😀. But Two Ronnies are a goldmine, keep at it!

The Two Ronnies ‘Crossed Lines’ sketch is well worth a reaction.
They were masters of language and made silly comedy around it, very clever duo. How he remembered all of that is beyond me.
Entertaining reaction Squire. The "sack of coke" that you laughed at refers to "coke", a processed derivative of coal that burns hotter in an open fire or steam engine etc. Whether they meant it to also be a euphemism for an "entertainment powder" is unclear. The BBC presented itself as very innocent and family friendly at the time but history tells us that this was not always the case.... You decide. Thanks pal.
Not enjoying the 'Four Candles' sketch was a huge failure on your part dude... it's their most famous and most loved one. I watched another reaction channel do it from across the pond the other day and he totally got it. Up your game, man 😀😂

The actor playing barman has sadly passed away very recently. He was famous for appearing in a long running series of stock cube ads in the U.K.
You should love a two Ronnie's sketch called Swear Jar. It's safe viewing. No actual swearing but very funny. Also four candles is the funniest sketch ever made if you are from the u.k. Very clever wordplay of the English language.
Love the 2 Ronnie's Mastermind answering the previous questions sketch and the one at the opticians, they were brilliant 👏
It always amazes me how Ronnie Barker managed to remember all those convoluted lines.🤔

Porridge is still really good now. Nearly as old as me too. The newer version with his nephew or who ever he was wasn't nearly as good as the original but still not as bad as some comedy nowadays. Unfortunately the p.c. brigade have stopped quality comedy getting made anymore. Only fools and horses was pure brilliance but wouldn't be allowed these days

Ronnie Barker was, truly, a genius. The Two Ronnies were humble and loveable, but, like Shakespeare, who was also, a little sophisticated, something can get lost in translation. when you are dealing with art that is so intensley, specifically focused, and is not written for modern America, or many other aesthetic palates. I think, KB, "Porridge" is something you might check out. Its a comedy set in a prison and is probably Ronnie Barker's most accessible work. Its also bloody funny.
A lot of Ronnie's sketches involve word play and mispronunciation. A master at it. No one came close to doing sketches like these

Oh i remember always watching these, if you get chance, the two farmers sat in pub, by two Ronnies, hilarious. These and old Benny hill, awesome memories. Best of Brit comedy.
The joke is simple. He started with a list, started to get merry on his Gin, got his list muddled, then started to get drunk and mixed his words.. he got more confused the more he drank. Four candle's sounds like a fork handle, that is the joke.
Fork handles is a play on words. Fork Handles. Four candles. It's a sketch in which our English language can mean something else from what's being offered in front of you. It's ingenious.
A Two Ronnie's sketch that I think you would like would be " Charlie and Bert" at Christmas. It's 2 men chatting in a pub. One of them, Charlie, tries to finish a sentence that the other starts and it's very clever and funny.
Four Candles is the funniest sketch in history...nothing comes close..just those 2 words make me smile. four Candles / fork handles 😂😂😂

OK, Fast Show - iconic British comedy sketch show that ran over a few years in the nineties. Massively popular and quite groundbreaking - brilliant writing. Still remains a cult favourite with people referencing certain sketches and saying catchphrases very commonly even today. Going to recommend what was, as legend suggests, the Fast Show gang's personal favourite sketch which played out in their last ever series. It remains possibly my favourite go-to piece of comedy and still gets the hardest laughs, legendary... 'Fast Show Middle Aged Guys 5'. Love this one. Cheers King Boomer!
the four candles skit is hilarious, it is basically all double entendre's aka play on words
RIP MICHAEL REDFERN (the bar guy) also famous for the Oxo TV ads in the UK in the 80s and 90s. King B - if you've not yet reacted to Bottom or Young Ones episodes or clips of, you might come across him in a few of those as well. DAVE
Ronnie barker was a master at spoonerisms and malapropism.
And in terms of something simmilar to The Two Ronnies - you'd love A bit of Fry and Laurie. They've tons of great clips, the Understanding Barman is lovely. A bit of Fry and Laurie stars Stephen Fry and Hugh Laurie (Dr. House). (kzread.info/dash/bejne/h2yf0ZSnc87FmKg.html)
Four candles/ fork handles - it is all about words sounding similar to other words and the hilarity of the misunderstanding... Maybe a bit too English for you, KB! To us Brits, it's a classic. There is a great hardware store called 'Fork'andles' in Essex, England!
Cracks me up watching americans looking vacant at british comedy 😂

Their Mastermind sketch is brilliant.
Oh wow I hadn’t realised Michael Redfern (barman), who was the dad in the bistro family was ever in the two Ronnies, anyway RIP Michael a great character actor that just passed away at the weekend.

It sure is! They only get blatant slapstick!
Ronnie Barker's genius was being able to memorize things that made no sense, one of the hardest things to do for an actor. If you found Four Candle (= Fork Handles) a problem it was probably down to the way that language between the US and UK has changed so much and even now, some 40 years or more, since that scene was recorded some of the items on his list just don't make sense as that type of 'buy anything' hardware store just don't exist....O's - sounds like 'H'ose (and Hose can mean pantyhose as well as the garden type of hose), followed up with "P's" is just funny because of course the shopkeeper was expecting letter P's and not canned Peas.
Well at least you’ve seen Four Candles, its actually entry requirement to have seen it before entry into the UK! 😉
Dude….Four Candles is an all time classic sketch.. its a simple play on words! You have to be screwed in and tuned in to understand it
'Ponting Punting' is without doubt the best 2 Ronnie's sketch I cant believe it never made broadcast it is genius, makes Four Candle look lame. Seriously look it up its brilliant.
Sadly the actor playing the barman passed away last week!!
Please do one on Lee Mack and Keys from Wilty. One of the (many) best ones with Lee :D
O aye. Also see the two Ronnie's sweet shop sketch. (nothing is to much trouble in this shop). Also a classic.

The two Ronnies mispronunciation is a brilliant sketch to watch
You didn’t like four candles, oh no what’s wrong wi ya man!?
Four candle's is the funniest and most iconic
The Four candle sketch may not have twigged with you .. Back in my day we had stores called IronMongers that sold literally everything ( Surely like your wild west General stores in the movies ) Back then to us in the UK the Four Candles sketch was a masterpiece, All off the cuff and done in just one take. As many Two Ronnie's sketches were :)
It's nice that you show a keen interest in our comedy.. Some comedy shows make a play on British culture, and I think the two Ronnies is such an example.. They use a constant play on words with double meanings, and I can see by your laughs (or lack of) it's quite difficult to follow. Of-course, Mr Bean could clearly appreciate all that, if he was going to enjoy any international success. I think Laurel and Hardy were the early pioneers of international comedy without much translation being needed.
The two Ronnies crossword on a train is worth a look.
Try the "Racing duck" sketch.
In the classic (and it is a classic) "Four Candles" sketch there are far too many jokes, double-entendres, puns, references and colloquialisms for anyone not British to fully 'get'. Otherwise, I'm sure you'd perceive "Four Candles" in a much more appreciative light. Not your fault, just the way it is. "Four Candles" is peculiarly and specifically of British culture.

Have another blast of 4 candles you may be more attuned to the accents.the greatest sketch in UK comedy.at Ronnie Corbett's funeral there was 4 large candles placed round the alter as a homage to the legend 🏴
Ronnie Barker teamed up with Ronnie Corbett for this show a free Morecambe & Wise the biggest comedy show was ended by the sad death of Eric .The Ronnies were comic actors with a variety of talents long careers from the music hall , films and the beginnings of tv . Both worked with John Cleese in pre Python times . These shows used to get regular audiences of 20million or so as there were only 3 or 4 tv channels .
Congratulations you have just met the greatest English comedy actor since Chaplin you will need to see The Two Ronnies sketches fully that are available plus the great Porridge and Open All Hours the latter you may not fully appreciate after your Four Candles comment but i do have hope as it is regarded as one of the great comedy sketches here in the UK and American comedy is still very different in alot of respects
Four Candles is one of the most famous from Ronnie B he came up with the script after something which had actually happened, could you put subtitles on? I know our accents aren't easy for some to understand, but that's the point of the sketch, Ronnie C not fully understanding what's being asked for, which is the joke, or maybe some headphones and watch it again, you can read the script online, but again takes away from the point of it
Great video 👌

But even being that tiny bit removed from British culture, in that home life culture was spanish...Four Candles was kinda lost on me for ages. You're far more removed so I can imagine even just the shop itself confusing you... Buying peas, sneakers, fuses, and lettering for houses in the same tiny shop... Was alien.
