In Britain this guy has never achieved major comic significance. Think on that. Because, from my perspective, he is a genius.

Excellent review. Never heard of Max Fosh before. Cheers Here's an old law from England. Source: The Free Library "An ancient by-law still allows locals born in York to shoot Scotsmen with a bow and arrow within the city walls, if they are out after sunset. It dates from the 13th Century, when William Wallace led his army of patriots south and ravaged the north of England. The law has never been revoked and stands as an example of a time when Eng-land and Scotland were at war. But it hasn't stop thousands of Scots visiting the city and many have settled there. Joseph McHaffie, 84, has lived in the North Yorkshire city since 1962 when he retired from the Royal Engineers. Mr McHaffie, originally from Moss Park, Glasgow, said: "It does not worry me at all. I have lived here a long time and it has always been a very friendly city - I have not been shot at once." Expatriate Maxine Gordon, 30, from Edinburgh, lives and works in York as a journalist. She said: "I am always teased about this at work but I am told the by-law just relates to men so I feel quite safe. "But woe betide anybody who tries to shoot a fellow Scot with a bow and arrow. "We are rough, hairy barbarians and more than a match for anybody from York and would probably respond by giving them a Glasgow kiss." At popular tourist spot The York Dungeons, Scots visitors are threatened with the by-law. A copy of it has pride of place on the wall and actors at the attraction's dark corridors try to identify Scots and scare them with the threat of attack. A spokeswoman for the Scottish Tourist Board said: "We'd advise Scots to avoid the slings and arrows of York and take a safer holiday at home." Acting head of York Police, Superintendent Gary Barnett, said: "As an England rugby supporter who has temporarily lost his sense of humour, I can see the merit of this by-law. "Clearly, though, other laws have superseded this one and, regardless of what has happened with the rugby, we always welcome Scots visitors." Gillian Cruddas, of the York Tourism Bureau, said: "York's a popular destination for Scots. We hope this won't deter visitors from north of the Border, who are always welcome. "We would be happy to loan chain mail from one of our museums if necessary." "

The US food standards are pretty awful for a lot of stuff. The basic difference is that in Europe ingredients /additives have to be proven to be safe before they can be used. In the US, ingredients/additives have to be proven harmful before they are removed. It's wrong. But as you said, money first people 2nd.

Greetings King Boomer from the other side of the pond. 🇬🇧 Congratulations on hitting 100k My grandad ironically American retired to a village near Helston which was a short distance from Falmouth. So I used to holiday there every summer. I knew about Operation Chariot from a very young and me and my family always paid our respects at the memorial when down there. It's a stunning location and regardless of it's description of being in a car park. It really is a gorgeous and fitting location for such an amazing sacrifice. All the best anyway.

Can remember seeing the belt armour of the Turpitz which is at Duxford. Also to think that the Prinz Eugen that sailed with the Bismark then after the war actually survived two atomic explotions and still survives although sunk in shallow water today. It really gives a perspective taking on challenges like these. Jeremy Clarkson is perfect because he really shows and shares true passion and awe to how on Earth do ordinary people somehow manage to achieve the absolute impossible.

I swear Pacino's acting, voice and even appearance ramped up from 'Scarface' onwards. I'm not saying the giant mountain of cocaine had an affect, but it's an interesting switch.

As well as the people you recognised in the background, there was Bronagh Gallagher, who was in The Commitments, Pulp Fiction and The Phantom Menace and Alex Lowe, who has been in lots of TV, but is probably best known as the useless Psychic Clinton Baptiste in Phoenix Nights.

Churchill actually gave the French the opportunity to hand over their warships to us before the Germans got there but they refused leaving him no choice but to bomb the French fleet. Hugely impressed with your knowledge of this event and Lord Mountbattens murder by the IRA. Excellent reaction as always.

My two cents on cricket formats for the American non-cricket follower: T20 (20 overs cricket) - A fast paced action movie. Massive fireworks or potential for home runs. Equally, as a bowler (pitcher) it takes considerable skill to survive and excel in the format. ODIs (50 overs cricket) - Probably the most balanced. Enough overs to take your time and put runs on the board. Yet few enough to generate the thrill and excitement that comes with T20. Test Matches (5 day games) - The oldest format and the purists' pick. This is a feature film with context, story, twists and turns. Over a 5-day period, the pitch can deteriorate, resulting in unique conditions depending on who is batting/bowling and when. As an example, while T20 and ODIs are all about the thrill of the chase, test matches are the only format where you can end up with a scenario where: It's day 5 of 5. The shittiest batters (i.e. specialist bowlers) are the only ones left batting. They have to somehow SURVIVE the entire day to tie/draw the game. It's a game of survival as opposed to smashing as many runs as you can.
