Americans go to the Outback for the First Time | Ikara-Flinders Ranges

Hello lovely's
Thank you for watching more of our antics. I apologize in advance if my pronunciation was not the best, that story had a lot of words I am not familiar with. South Australia is coming to an end but that just leaves more of Australia to explore. make sure you like the video and subscribe! it means a lot and helps more people find us :) hope you are having a great day. - Love Rhys and Missy

Great respect for mob and their culture mate. The dreaming stories and songs have more to offer to the sciences than most choose to believe. Many of the earliest creation stories originate from ancestors observations of major celestial events that impacted their world and people thousands of years ago. They are preserved in song lines and stories with observations likened to recognizable references in nature such as animals and their behaviours. Colours are a significant clue as to what these observations might have been. Collaborations between stories and petroglyph rock art is incredibly fascinating. It is in its early stages as far as studies go, but an important and beautiful arm of science, gifted by a beautiful culture of human beings. Our world's oldest record keepers. Enjoy your travels guys

The Flinders Ranges are at the edge of the Outback. The middle of the Outback is red soil, flat and fairly barren. If you want a very unique Outback experience, travel back to Port Augusta, then head up the main highway to Coober Pedy. To say it is different is an understatement. You'll love it's quirkiness.

We camped in our caravan at Rawnsley Park Station a month ago the Flinders Ranges are amazing. Tested out the Jeeps 4wd capabilities in some of those canyons and tracks. You guys are a lot more energetic than we were (also a lot younger) Normally Aussies would pronounce it Will peena pound but maybe the indigineous people pronounced it Will penna. The Pich Richi railway and the silo art show in Quorn were also interesting to visit.

As a non-aboriginal Australian living in Adelaide, who has had family here since the 1850's, I have to say you did a magnificent job of capturing the story of Wilpena. Love the philosophical interpretations you intermix with the Tiktok stuff that you young whippersnappers do. Very happy I stumbled over your channel. All Power to you. And PS: I'm a Port Adelaide supporter, boy did you pick the wrong team in Adelaide :)

PS: play some Cold Chisel while you travel, and listen to the words. Sights, sounds, smells, tastes and the feel of the red dust on your face. Trust me, the Chisel will help you get it. And one day, when you look back and listen to Cold Chisel again, the memories will flood back. And you'll smile.

I love your telling of the creation story. Thanks for being so respectful of our indigenous heritage. The outback has a certain ambience that can't be reproduced in any other country. It's always different everywhere else. Nothing wrong with that. Other countries have their unique feel to them too. But you have to love a "Sunburnt Country" - Dorothea Mackellar who wrote a poem describing the climate change in Australia way back in 1904 - LONG before CO2 was even having an effect. Go figure climate alarmists. I look forward to you ongoing travels heading west. 👍 Have a golf club? You might need one.
