    I own two acres just east of Elko that Nikki could use anytime she wants. Perfect for a van lifer to stop, just a few miles off I-80, and the north fork of the Humboldt River flows through a corner of the property.

    I wrote a country tune called Battle Mountain Blues. I lived outside of Elko in Carlin NV. In the 70s. The Overland bar and The Owl. Have that tune on their juke boxes......lol😂❤

    Wish you would have spent more time in Battle Mountain. There is a good amount of old history there. I live in Virginia now. But I went to grade school and high school in Battle Mountain and at 1 time lived in the house directly across from the owl club in the park. The house sits 15 feet from the railroad track, and the train goes by at about 80 miles an hour several times a day. Talk about having some nightmares.

    The minute the dogs saw snow they wanted to get out and play, my dog just loved snow too. Beautiful views and waterways, visited Nevada many years ago and enjoyed the little towns, way back to 1977 for me.

    My first place to explore in the West would be Nevada....SO much history and open land.. These cowboys and gold miners were the rough of the roughest... ..I'm just mesmerized by Nevada..so much more than deserts and Vegas...

    I wonder if Nikki ever misses going overseas, it's such an exhilarting lifestyle that most don't experience, although I know she came back to enjoy her family, the overseas itch has to still be there.     I do! I’ve been feeling a little bit of a desire to get back. Before when I’d blaze country to country I didn’t have the dogs, now I can’t imagine more than a week without them! I do foresee a trip in the near future tho! :-)

    @@NikkiDelventhal Even though you're a different type of celebrity Nikki i.e.( cool and down-to-earth), I must admit I'm always amazed when you respond to your fans, kudos for staying grounded despite your success. If you haven't been on a safari in Africa, I'd make a suggestion to go there for that amazing experience in any country such as South Africa, Kenya, Tanzania, etc. Keep enjoying life as you inspire many, I tried to get my mother to go to the forest with me, but she wasn't having it lol, hope to see you and your mother on a trip again on KZread, she's cool too.

    You have discovered one of the Best Kept Secrets of the Wild West. The Ruby and Jarbridge Mountains are isolated an beautiful. Also, some of the best fishing in the US is in the Ruby Marshes

    I was raised around horses my whole life. I still have my dad’s English saddle he used when he would exercise the thoroughbred’s he trained. Unfortunately I don’t have the original girt on it. But I still have the original stirrups. I learned how to ride horses on that saddle. I think it was made in the 50’s or 60’s.

    The top of Lamoille Canyon has the best hikes if you ever make it back through, check it out. It's typically always snowed in until mid June.

    We got stuck in Elko, NV for a month when our truck broke down. We stayed in our trailer in an RV park near the mechanic. It was so hot in town. We would escape and go to the Ruby mountains for a cool respite. Lamoille Canyon and Angel lake are gorgeous. However, being trapped in Elko with very limited AC in summer for a month sucked. Thank goodness the Ruby mountains were fairly close by.
