Thank you for your reaction! This MV has 2 (!) storylines as BTS does very amazing and unique concept work. This is more than themed music - it's a story of coming of age. 1. The BU (Bangtan Universe) is a story of seven people whose friendship falls apart with secrets as they all suffer. It is made out of MVs (Korean and Japanese), On Stage: prologue, Love Yourself: Highlight Reel, Notes/books, a webtoon (Save Me), a mobile game (discontinued unfortunately) and we are getting a K-Drama (we have the trailer) called Youth. (The snickers, the crumbling phone, Save Me/I'm Fine, the water, fire etc. are part of it. The crumbling phone is from a call for help that his friend didn't answer) 2. "Love Yourself" era - made out of 3 albums "Love Yourself: Her", "Love Yourself: Tear" & "Love Yourself: Answer": Serendibity -> DNA -> Love Yourself: Her -> Singularity -> *Fake* *Love* -> Outro: Tear -> Epiphany -> Idol It is one story. And you are wrong: It is *NOT* *HER* fault but that of the singer: He found out what the other wanted in a relationship and fullfilled those wishes while denieing a part of himself. In the end the pain of self-denial is greater than the love and the relationship crumbles. "She" had never a chance to meet the singers real self. Serendibity: having just met someone and while anxious the believe is that it is fate DNA: full blown love/reincarnation/fate/in the DNA: perfection Outro: Her: the oath to make it perfect even when a part of themselve needs to be changed Singularity. the pain is there but abstract as part of themselve is burried in a lake under melting ice; the denial is strong why it hurts *Fake* *Love* : it goes from "I don't know why" to "i just know why": the aknwoledging that it hurts more than the love is worth: because they are not perfect and that is not the others fault who has never met the real person Outro: Tear: looking back on the broken relationship/promises and hurting Epiphany: aknwoledging that you have to love your imperfect self first before you "love" others Idol: celebration of self-love and telling critics that they can do whatever they want/they do not have to fullfill roles pushed on them: they are artists *and* Idols and proud of it The next era is "The Map of the Soul" as to "Love Yourself" you have to "Know Yourself": psycholgy (Carl Jung) All 3 people that rap are rappers. 2 of them are from underground Hiphop. They have three different styles: - RM: Joke, Still Life - J-Hope: More, Arson, Neuron - Agust D (Suga of BTS): Daechwita, Haegeum RM has amazing wordplay (he has an IQ of 148), he did battle rap and his biggest Idol is Nas. Suga's first album was Eminem and his solo work tends to the more angry - he is also a great producer. J-Hope was a streetdancer and learned rap in the "rap den" - he is very good and has a sweet flow. If you also want the vocalline - since you already did JK: -Jin; the Astronaut (made with Coldplay) - Jimin: Set Me Free Pt. 2 - V: Slow Dancing A few years ago Paul McCartney was asked in an interview if he believed that authentic artists still exist - the interviewer definetly didn't - and McCartney answered: BTS and how they remind him of his time with the Beatles. A good Intro is Taylor Mari's Bangtan 7 You nice! keep going! 💜 P.S: I was a teen in the 90s and practicle blocked out the existence of boybands. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Absolutely. Rap and other poetry, rhymes and rhyme schemes especially, are very, very hard to translate, and id say translating rhyme and rhythm along with the meaning is way beyond what one can expect from mv subtitles. Without understanding the original language we can still understand the cadence, delivery and emotions of the rap and get the gist of the meaning from the subs. (Source: I'm a translator and wrote my thesis about translating rhyme)

They all have solos too so I recommend: RM- Wildflower RM- Still life Suga/Agust D- Daechwita Suga/ Agust D- Agust D, its a self titled song and really showcases his rapping skills Jhope- Neuron (just came out) Jhope- Chicken noodle soup

I love RM's Wildflower, but I kinda think it's best to save that reaction for a little later down a new listeners' BTS journey. I feel like they don't really grasp the message because they don't know what he's had to go through. Yes most people can understand the sentiment, but they don't FEEL it until they understand RM's back story. I've seen it go over a lot of reactors' heads because they just think he's another spoiled celebrity crying about fame and that's such a pity. It deserves so much more recognition then that. 😮‍💨

Yes all 7 members of BTS are currently serving in the Korean military. 2 members will be discharged this year and the other 5 members will be discharged in June 2025. This music video actually has a lot references to the BU aka the Bangtan Universe (the fictional storyline that runs through many BTS music videos and other content). It's hard to explain all the references without spoiling what happens in the storyline. And some of the members of BTS do play instruments. Suga of BTS did a solo tour last year and he played both a keyboard and the guitar during the tour. There are 3 rappers in BTS and all of them are REAL rappers. You should definitely watch Suga's videos but he goes by Agust D for his solo work. Daechwita, Haegeum, and Agust D are all good rap solo songs by Suga aka Agust D. BTS also has songs by just the rap line alone (Suga, RM, and J-Hope), I love the song Outro: Tear by the rap line (a song they wrote during a time when BTS was thinking about possibly disbanding). You could also check out the Cyphers 1-4 also by the rap line. Arson is a good rap song by J-Hope and Joke by RM would also be interesting. RM also has a song called Wild Flower that is more melodic rapping but the lyrics are so poignant. I would recommend a lot of other songs but I'll keep it short for now.

All members of BTS play instruments, they just don't talk about it. As a longtime ARMY who has watched a lot of extra content, I can confirm, they can all play some form of instrument, but some members are more musicians while the others could be considered more amateur level.

Not to beat a dead horse, but yes BTS has what we call the rap line. There are 3 rappers. The original plan for BTS was for the group to be solely a hip hop group. Therefore the first 3 members were the rap line (RM, SUGA, j-hope). RM and SUGA both had experience in the underground scene before joining BigHit Entertainment. I know I’m biased, but for me they are the best rap line in kpop, and I’d even put them above a lot of western rappers as well. Their pen game alone makes them superior. RM is brilliant and he can use wordplay in multiple languages. SUGA writes very raw and honest lyrics that touch your soul. j-hope’s lyrics are always super clever and he can roast you without you even realizing it. All three of them are great at flow switches and intricate cadences. They all do incredible melodic rap. RM and SUGA are the main songwriters in BTS. I expect that might change some once all 7 are back together since the vocal line has gotten more experience after doing solo projects, even though not all of them wrote their albums. Looking forward to your next BTS reaction! 💜

@@timothyclayton813before discovering bts, I listened to only rap, my favorites are j.cole, Kendrick, Kanye, lil Wayne, future, and Travis. I liked their lyrics/beats especially Kendrick’s lyrics. But then new rappers started coming up when their music wasn’t good, now there’s not much rappers that are focused on the lyricism/storytelling, bts may not be as good as the rappers I just named but they definitely are better than some of the rappers who don’t focus on the lyrics. After a while, I’ve gotten tired of rap songs that only talk about drugs, women, and being rich. Bts’s rappers switch it up all the time & they are a solid rapline when it comes to kpop and more recently, the hip-hop community has praised jhope after being exposed to on the street and his new album. I wouldn’t go as far as saying bts is bigger than some of the biggest rappers right now but they definitely are the best in the kpop game.

14:50 - You said the lyrics you read is not rap because it doesn't rhyme. You have to remember that you're reading a *translation.* Their original lyrics does rhyme in Korean. They sometimes even make English words and Korean words rhyme. Unfortunately, making the _translation_ rhyme is one of the hardest thing to do. As a translator myself, I've experienced the process firsthand. That's why you'll find that most lyrics translation don't rhyme. And so when you do encounter *rhymed translation,* please know that it's the result of hard work involving long hours of trial and error. For those of us who don't speak Korean, there _will_ be things that we miss from the rappers' verses. Although we can _hear_ rhyming sounds, we don't understand the words they're rhyming. We also miss the *word play and the cultural references* and we have to rely on translators to explain these to us. Fortunately there are *generous bilingual ARMYs* who do this, whether as explanation videos (such as DKDKTV channel) or as annotated translation (such as doolset). Thanks to their hard work, other ARMYs are able to appreciate BTS's lyrics more, and their message can reach and touch the hearts of millions of fans around the world. I think one of the best lyrics translation is the subtitles in *"Daechwita" by Agust D.* The translator managed to create rhymed translation for most of the song, and did it in an appropriate register.

Lyrically, the song talks about love that was once believed to be destiny, but turned out fake at the end and reflects the theme of the entire "Love Yourself" series - "that any love wherein one does not love oneself is not real."[29][32] It also recounts the emptiness that comes to a person who has invested too much in a relationship, only to lose one's own identity in the process through lyrics such as, "I even became quite unsure of who I was / Try babbling into the mirror, who the heck are you?"[40][41] The lyrics further reference to the notion of holding onto a toxic relationship: "I grew a flower that can't be bloomed in a dream that can't come true."[28][42] Lines like "Mold a pretty lie for you" and "Try to erase myself and make me your doll" suggest themes of "hiding depression" and "pressure" to maintain relationships despite struggling with mental health.[27][42] During the chorus, the band chant the titular phrase singing, "I'm so sick of this fake love" admitting "disenchantment."[28][42]

I’ve never loved an artist more than BTS. No one compares to BTS in terms of their humanity, humility, personality, integrity, sincerity, genuineness and work ethic. That is why Armys love BTS so much and also because they are so funny, goofy and chaotic. They love BTS as people who inspire them to be a better person.

There are seven members who are differently talented. Each one can hold their own as a solo act but they recognize that together they can achieve much more. I’m a 48 y/o male, husband, and father of two. I. I grew up listening to rock, rap, R&B, alternative rock, and country. Never thought I’d listen to K-POP. But BTS is not just K-POP. They pave the way for K-POP…meaning they made it possible for K-POP to expand into mainstream music industry. While most Western music have no real or meaningful music, BTS’s are always meaningful and purposeful . I thank my 13 y/o daughter and wife for introducing me to BTS. I think you guys kind of missed the meaning of the lyrics. Of course it is up for interpretation. But I think the gist of the song is about molding themselves into something they're not in order to be perfect for the other. They're not really singing about the other, I think the song is more about the self. If they're not truly themselves, then how can they truly love the other. "Other" can be a romantic partner, a friend, a relative or even yourself. At least, this is what I've interpreted this song to be. If you listen to more of their songs, a lot of them are quite introspective. Thanks for the good reaction!💜

There are behind the scenes video for every music video they’ve made and they are very interesting. They can be found on Bangtan TV. If you jump down the rabbit hole, you’ll be amazed by how diverse these 7 men are both as a group and as solo artists. Btw, although they won’t all be back until June 2025, they pre-prepared content for us before enlisting. The last members left for their military service the 2nd week in December. Since then, we’ve gotten 2 solo releases (Jimin: “Closer Than This” with MV /V: “FRI(END)S” with MV / j-hope “Hope On The Street Vol. 1” EP with 6 tracks and a MV for the song “Neuron”). Many ARMYs also think that we will be getting a couple more albums or EPs this year and we know there’s a travel vlog series coming from Jung Kook and Jimin. And that’s just from the members who will still be serving until June 2025. I’m expecting more new music from Jin after he’s discharged in June 2024 and possibly “Hope On The Street Vol 2” when j-hope is discharged in October 2024. We are never lacking in content from them. Since everyone else already pointed out our beloved rap line, I’m going to use my comment to talk about the song. Bts writes most of their songs and a lot of the lyrics are written by them too. RM writes a lot of their lyrics and he was an underground rapper before joining BTS, and a poet before becoming a rapper. He also has a high iq of 148. You should know that when bts sings about a love song, it’s not always a love song between a man and a women. Sometimes they will use the word “girl” which makes you think it’s about a girl, but they just use it because it sounds better. Not necessarily because it is about a girl. In this song, it’s about the relationship with yourself. The fake love you have for yourself. Because u tell yourself you should be some type of way, and you keep changing to fit that mould, but end up losing yourself. In BTS’s recent book, they also said they wrote this song during a time they were really burnt out. They were not happy. But they didn’t want their fans to know so they never showed it on stage. But the fandom grew and more and more ppl started to love BTS. So they also question that love from fans. Do the fans truly love them if all they’re seeing is not the real them? But a version of them putting a mask on to stand on stage in front of fans. Believe me….bts’s songs can go deep. It takes some getting used to. When I first started this journey, I was just used to lyrics talking about how rich the artist is, how many girls, cars, houses, how many ppl they can fight, etc, etc…then you hear this, and u think it’s a highschool crush type of song, but then the lyrics go deeper then that, then if you open your mind, you’ll realize it goes even deeper…deep into your inner soul. 😮 Bts touches on a lot of topics and messages you won’t find in other pop songs. Keep exploring with an open mind and no prejudice and you’ll see the artistry of BTS.

I am an older fan of BTS (65 next week) and I just want to tell you that I have never loved a group of artists as much I do BTS. Their talent is off the charts, their success phenomenal for a "K Pop band" (although they transcended that label years ago) and their personalities absolutely adorable and charming. Their work ethic, their personal charm and their amazing humility just sucked me in when I first found them and I have never looked back! Please react to more BTS. YES....their rap line is astounding! Probably the best in the industry! I would recommend ON; Kinetic Manifesto or Black Swan for another group video and maybe Outro: Tear to hear the rappers front and center! For solo rap, try Suga's great trilogy: Daechwita, Haegeum, and Amagdyla.

Welcome to the rabbit hole of BTS. BTS cannot be bottled into one genre. Their rapline is the ultimate of all rappers (and I do mean that in comparison to US rappers.) They write the majority of their song, they broke the mold of “K-pop” and they do not follow what used to be known as studio puppets. Every song has multiple layers of meaning, their MVs have countless symbolism. The topics apply to all of us. I’m 44 and can relate to all their music. ARMY has no specific age range, we cover a massive age span. Each member has their solo albums/projects and it is absolutely insane how different their music is individually and when they come together, it goes together so well. When you get a chance, there is a guide by Taylor Mari (yes, we will watch it with you even though it’s about 45 min. Yes we’ve seen it multiple times and yes, we will always watch reactors watch the full video. We will watch every second of that reaction). It’s a glimpse as to what makes BTS so special and dear to our hearts. Welcome again to the land of BTS. Enjoy your journey! 💜⁷

68 yr old ARMY here! :) It’s exciting seeing how many reactors JK has brought to not only him, but to BTS and the members. All seven members are extremely talented and have put out albums except for the oldest one who went into the military first. This is a great rabbit hole. All of them are doing their military service. Jin will be out in June, JHope will be out in October and the other 5 will be out in June, 2025. ⚠️Some will ask you to do the performance video of Jung Kook’s song, “Seven”. If you have a problem with the F word don’t watch it. Also the raps in Seven and 3D caused quite a controversy. JK is trying to break through to the Western music industry which is not real receptive to Korean artist even when they sing in English. He felt he needed a rap in those two songs, and this is his kind of music. I have no problem with it, but wanted to be fair to you so you aren’t shocked. I am not meaning to say anything bad, I just don’t want someone to suggest it for shock value. I actually like both songs without the rap. I’m an old lady. Maybe that’s why. Boy band, boy group… some people are so picky. I don’t think it really matters. They aren’t technically a band because they aren’t playing instruments, but they DO play instruments. They write the majority of their own music. 😊 BTS songs: “ON Kinetic Manifesto”, “Mic Drop”, “Blood Sweat and Tears Members: 3 Rappers: RM- “Joke”, Suga aka Agust D - “Daechwita”, J-Hope - “More” (I don’t like the concept of comparing. Rappers take many different styles I think you should just react to what you get without having a made up standard. Rappers together: “Ugh”, “Cyphers 1-4” 4 Vocalists: Jin - “Ephiphany” live Jung Kook - “Euphoria” live in Osaka V - “Fri(end)s - all English song Jimin - “Like Crazy” Why are SO MANY ARMY ONLY suggesting rap solos and rap line songs on so many reactions, not just the ones like here when they request some rap songs? I’m confused.

Oh dear lordy ya'll just done opened up a whole rabbit hole 😂 they have over 350 tracks of solo and group and unit songs, and so many different genres and blends of genres. The first 3 members who formed the group are the 3 rappers of the group (although they have been known to sing a tune) and the group was originally meant to be hip hop but then went more the 'idol" / "k-pop" with a hip-hop foundation. You'll find that a lot of their songs that seem to be about a romantic relationship (which is ok to interpret that way as they leave their music open to interpretation) there is more about self-love/destruction/etc. - usually numerous layers of meaning. any-who - highly recommend the Taylor Guide to BTS to see their creation story and more about them. They all have solo projects outside of the group as well as solo music inside of the group albums and their video are all exquisite. I am a 50+ year old fan of theirs and have a very eclectic taste and have never connected with any artist/group like BTS. Thanks for checking out more.

I absolutely LOVE when people show genuine interest in the new music and artists they listen to, like you guys seem to do. There are three rappers in BTS, and all of them are REALLY good. The three songs I’d recommend to listen to with all of them are: -Outro:Tear -UGH -Ddaeng (althouth ddaeng is extremely complicated lyrically so you’ll probably need to watch an explanation video if you wanna know how clever the writing is) RM is the leader of the group (in the way that he takes on a lot of responsibilities) and the main lyricist of BTS, he is extremely smart and poetic in a way, with the way he writes lyrics. His latest solo record is called “Indigo” and the song “Wild Flower” is a must hear from it. If you wanna hear hardcore RAP RAP from him, then it’s the song “Joke”. It’s old, but still gold. All of the rappers (and singers too, although not as often) make their own beats and take parts in music writing, but Suga is the main producer of BTS, he actually didn’t wanna become famous and just wanted to write music for other people at first. He goes by the name Agust D when he’s solo and has three big records: Agust D, D-2 and D day being the latest. Last two also follow a music trilogy: Daechwita, Haegeum and Amygdala are the songs you HAVE to check out if you like rap. Daechwita currently has almost 450 million views on youtube. The last rapper of the group is J-hope, he’s the lead dancer, incredible one at that, and he actually started out as a dancer before rapper, and learnt how to rap with the help of RM and Suga (who were both underground at the time). He actually came back to his roots of dancing with an OST album for a documental series about dance very recently, NEURON mv came out a week ago and it has a very strong classic J. Cole vibe. Oh, and have I mentioned that J. Cole is one of J-hope’s biggest idols whom he collabed with on a track “on the street”? J-hope’s first mixtape is also called “Hope world”, which is sorta a reference to “Cole world”. But if you wanna hear more of J-hope’s style, I recommend his tracks Daydream from the said Hope World, which is a very bright, hopeful record in comparison to the darker, horrorcore-ish “Jack in the box” with amazing songs like Arson and What If (these are also must listen). You will NOT regret diving into BTS’ rappers projects!

If you wish to hear more hard hitting and/or fast rap from BTS solo projects: - Daechwita by Agust D (he is Suga from BTS under a different name) - Agust D by Agust D - Haegum by Agust D - More by j-hope - Arson by j-hope If you want to check out more lyrical rap: - Outro Tear by BTS’ rap line - Wildflower by RM - Still Life by RM I think these are good starting points, but there’s also plenty of hip hop songs in their BTS albums as well

I know I commented before but maybe at some point you could also react to the song Hip Hop Phile by BTS. It's a song where they literally name drop so many American rappers that have influenced them over the years. BTS were initially supposed to be a group made entirely of rappers with no dancing but over time the project changed to where the group would including singing and dancing. RM and Suga were both ostracized by other rappers for being in an idol group basically calling them sell outs. But make no mistake RM, Suga/Agust D, and J-Hope are all real rappers and the BTS rap line is considered one of if not the best rap line in South Korea.

A common thing in BTS' songs is that they usually talk about love as concept, so that can be seen from different perspectives. That way songs like Fake Love can be applied to different types of (toxic) love, not just romantically. With that said, Fake Love it's about losing yourself in order to please someone you love or to maintain that love/relationship, but then realizing that this isn't a healthy path to follow as a relationship and someone who asks you to change for their own pleasure isn't someone who truly love you.

Rather than going for solo songs like everyone else is saying (there's some amazing MVs), first you guys should check out some of BTS's rap focused songs as a group, most of them don't have MVs but you can find color coded lyric videos that are worth a listen. Here's some recommendations, cheers - No More Dream MV (2013) (300M views) It is their debut song and shows a lot of their original values - BTS Cyphers Pt. 1 (2013), Pt. 2 (2014), Pt. 3 (2014), Pt. 4 (2016), Pt. 2 is my favorite - Outro: Tear (2018) This one doesn't have an MV but you should definitely check out the stage LIVE ENG SUB - Ddaeng (2018) - Ugh (2020) For solo songs JHOPE - Arson (2022) SUGA (AGUSTD) - Haegeum (2023) Rap Monster RM - There's so many good songs that its hard to pinpoint one but I guess if you want to listen to him rap rap go listen to his old mixtape songs from 2015 "Do you" and "Joke" 🤣, you won't find english lyrics on the official videos so just search for ENG SUBs otherwise theres a lot of good songs on his albums Indigo and Mono

BTS has over 300 songs covering various genres so it's really hard to categorize BTS as only 1 sound or genre. This song is off of their album called Love Yourself: Tear and I would recommend just checking out that entire album as it's one of my favorites from BTS. I recommend "DOPE", or just the rap line "UGH" at Busan concert. BTS has hundreds of songs, they make Ballads, Pop, Latin pop, Hip hop etc. They are 3 rappers and 4 singers. and maybe you're interested in rappers' albums. 💜Suga Aka Agust D (Rapper): album: D-day. Song: Haegeum. I recommend the Trilogy: "AMYGDALA", "Daechwita" and "Haegeum" 💜 JHope (rapper): album: Jack in The box. Song:More. I recommend his presentation Lollapalooza. 💜RM (rapper): album: Indigo. I recommend "Do You" or "Joke" or Tiny desk.

oh sweet. And we are called Army =0] that's the fandom name. So glad u liked this song. It's a fav for many. BTS loves music and like to explore. So they have different styles and songs. The 3 rappers in the group have mixtapes, solo albums, MVs. But the guys have been around almost 11 yrs and so their sound changes over time. The guys love 90's music and RMs the leaders fav rapper is Nas. They like Eminem too. They met Coolio in 2014 during a reality show in LA. All the guys love rap actually. The rapline is just better at it skill wise. Try these. SUGA - Daechwita - kzread.info/dash/bejne/Zml40Kx7c7qtk5M.html or AGUST D kzread.info/dash/bejne/ZY2Tp8uyl5fIls4.html RM: JOKE. - kzread.info/dash/bejne/gayB1KSHcrrRo7A.html or. You are correct, these men work extremely hard. All their songs usually contain rap by each of the 3 rappers unless it’s just a vocal line song. You will also notice that most of their songs are not love songs about a girl. Their songs talk about self love or are songs for ARMY. They rarely sing love songs about a girl, but sing songs that relate to more important topics like depression, female empowerment, social injustice etc. These men are just different. They also have 3 movies out. If you watch the first one, Burn The Stage, you will see just how hard they work for ARMY. Also take a listen to their 2021 Festa live performance, it’s a medley of a few of their B-side songs which are all great songs. They also have a live Tiny Desk performance of 3 of their songs which is excellent. Enjoy the ride.💜🇨🇦

Glad to have seen your reaction to BTS. It was a good one. I am a Silver Army 66 years, old from Asia ! I am into all genres of music from hard metal rock, blues, funk, hip hop, EDM, country, latin boleros to classical, my all time favourite is BTS. This is the most accomplished, awarded and talented group in the world. There are three Rappers, RM( leader of the group), Suga aka August D and JHope, they are some of the finest and top tier rappers in the world. All Seven of them write and produce their own work. as for the rappers, they do rhyme in Korean, which is lost in the translation, this is a pity because BTS is iconic for their wordplay, bars, flows and cadence . These guys are some of the best poets. The Vocal Line has 4 members, Jin, Jimin, V - Kim Taeyung and JK-Jeon Jungkook. BTS write songs that are very deep and meaningful. All their work should not be taken on the surface value, they are story lines and themes that at times run through several albums as a series. Fake love is about self love and acceptance. The coming to terms of the blemished person. A lot of their songs are based on, philosophy, art and literature, like for example, Carl Jung's concept of self, persona, ego and shadow as in their Map Of The Soul album. Please delve into more of their work to see how versatile and good they are. Their musicality, lyricism, choreography, visuals and styling are top tier and incredibly dope. Check out the following songs that will give you an overview of their magnificent talent :- ON Kinetic Manifesto Black Swan Mic Drop Not Today Dope Idol Fire 21st Century Girl Blood Sweat and Tears Airplane 2. Enjoy! Cheers and Borahae💜💜💜

while the impression many get is that the songs is abt a relationship, it's deeper than that - RM (leader, rapper) who is one of the main writers of this song said: "We're saying that if you're not true to yourself, your love won't last forever. The love could be person to person, it could be between me and myself." when you listen & interpret the song from the view of self-love it hits different, how you try to change yourself and pretend to be someone you're not so you could love yourself better, but in the end that's fake love.

Hi guys, Thanks for your reaction. You will get lots of comments and info from ARMY (their fandom), we love when people give the boys a chance. Couple of things to add to those comments... 1. Kpop is an industry not. a genre, and 2. Fake love talks mainly about selflove and staying true to yourself. You'll find that BTS lyrics go really deep, they are not your regular "boy loves girl" song, their meanings go way beyond that. BTS have over 400 songs, in all kinds of genres. I highly suggest you watch "A guide to BTS by Taylor Marie" It will give you everything you need to know. Don't be scare of long videos or pausing, ARMY will watch every second of it with you. Fun fact, Fake Love came out when they were having a really hard time from the pressure and almost disbanded and the song almost didn't happen. There is so much info I would love to share with you but I'll keep it short for now. It is a deep rabbit hole.... welcome to the family! Much love from Galapagos! ✌💜

You might be interested to know that one of the rappers has a concert movie coming out this week - it will air on Wednesday and Saturday in IMAX and premium large format theaters all around the world, including here in the US. It would be a terrific introduction for you to the rap talent in BTS, because SUGA is just one of three crazy talented rappers in BTS. I think you’d e joy it even without being familiar with SUGA (aka Agust D)’s multiple solo projects. One other thing I will say is that the best way to approach BTS is with an understanding that BTS gets very deep with their lyrics. Songs that seem to just be love songs at surface level almost always go at least a bit deeper than that. Even their 3-album series “Love Yourself” that is all about love approaches the topic from a very deep perspective. Also, it’s important not to take the English translations at face/surface value either. Doolset Bangtan is a great resource for understand both the language and cultural references in BTS lyrics that we Americans couldn’t possibly understand by reading the subtitles on their videos. One example is RM’s song “Trivia: Love.” He changes one Hangeul character from a square to a circle and it changes the word from “human” to “love” - and the lyrics at that point say: “Before knowing you, my heart was filled with straight lines only I’m just a human, human, human You erode all my edges and make me a love, love, love” That’s just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to the *literal* genius in RM’s lyrics in that song alone. You have to be sure to look up the lyrics to that song in Doolset Bangtan whenever you get around to it. You will be utterly blown away. RM’s genius with lyrics is incredible to the point that I - a 57 year old woman - honestly look up to and admire RM. RM is one example of why BTS is the best group in the world, bar none. Each member brings literal world class talent for something to the group table. Someone once compared them to The Avengers, because on their own they are terrific artists/dancers/producers/lyricists…but together they are exponentially greater than the sum of the parts. Anyone who truly loves music or performance can’t help but be impressed by them musically, and performance-wise. Even better is the fact that they are all seven very good men. They make it easy to be a fan.

Thanks for the reaction. I Love this song. It's more about how you try to change yourself for the other person that you end up loosing yourself, and you no longer recognize who you are. You then realize that is is not real love, but hence the term "Fake Love'". Just some info. BTS consists of 3 rappers (RM, Suga, & J-Hope) and 4 Vocalists (Jin, Jimin, Taehyung, & Jungkook). Their music consists of various genres, so their discography is pretty big. They debuted back in June 2013. While in BTS, some members releases solo mixtapes over the years. They are all on hiatus since all the members are currently serving out their mandatory military service. Before going into the military, each member officially released solo work (You've already heard one of Jungkook's songs). Some BTS songs you might want to check out: Blood - Sweat and Tears, MIc Drop, Black Swan, ON Kinetic Manifesto, Not Today, Idol, etc. Some solo suggestions: RM - Monster, Jin - Epiphany, Suga (aka AgustD) - Daechwita, , J-Hope - Outro:Ego, Jimin - Serendipity, Taehyung - Singularity, & Jungkook - My Time. I hope you enjoy.

15:27 BTS has 3 rappers, RM, Suga and Jhope. RM and Suga were underground rappers before they joined BTS and Jhope was an underground dancer but also involved in the rap scene. Yes all 3 of them have “straight rap projects”. They all have released at least 2 solo albums each that are filled with straight up rap songs. For RM’s first solo song you should watch Wild flower or Forever rain. For Suga either Daechwita or Haegum. For Jhope either Chicken Noodle Soup or Neuron.

Thanks for reaction. BTS are everything. Those boys are so talented and one thing they thought us is to love yourself. They write their lyrics themselves. All their songs is based on their struggle and anxiety. BTS are seven ( 4 vocalist and 3 rappers) Kim Namjoon: is the leader of BTS and Also a rapper. His stage name is RM( real me). The father of K-pop, writing credit on the boys songs, an high IQ, talented, loves arts, his lyrics have poetry style Kim seokjin: Is the eldest of the group and vocalist. He's known as Jin. He's very talented and one of the best rappers in K-pop. He has writing credit in BTS songs. He's also a producer. Jung Hoseok: As a stage name of Hobi. He's the sunshine of the group, Ace dancer of the group and also a rapper. He has writing credit on most BTS songs Park jimin: Also known as jimin, an affectionate person, beautiful, another good dancer, a contemporary dancer, blackbelt, as a feminine side and shy, vocalist of BTS, among the youngline of BTS Kim Taehyung: Also known as V ( victory) unique baritone voice, vocalist, kind, caring, playful, also in the dance line, visual, intelligent. The three rappers in bts are Kim Namjoon, Min Yoongi, and Jeong Hoseok. Also know respectively as Rap Monster (RM), Suga (or Agust D for his solo projects), and J-Hope. They are the rap line of BTS and yes, the parts you heard in the middle of Fake Love are rap. Although they also sub vocal, dance, and write and produce their own music and lyrics. I understand what you were saying about it sounding more like a cadence rather than straight rap, but not all rap has to be fast. Several of their other group songs do have more strong hip-hop type rap with quick lines. A reminder that the rap rhymes in korean but the translation for the lyrics doesn’t necessarily rhyme- that’s the sad part, that not everything can be translated to english authentically. However, you are correct, they do have solo projects. The rap line have 2 solo albums out each at this point. J-hope just released a new album about a week ago. Considering what you are looking for, I highly suggest starting with Agust D (Suga) famous solo trilogy: Daechwita, Haegum, Amygdala. This must be watched in order starting with Daechwita because there is a story line. Ofcourse if you want suggestions with RM and Jhope i’m happy to give them to you as well. They all have amazing solo rap projects. In terms of BTS as a group, some songs with more ‘evident’ hip-hop / rap style are Mic Drop, Ddaeng, and Tomorrow (highly recommend all of them). Along with this the 3 rap line members have their famous Cyphers pt.1-pt.4, where the whole song is rapped as a group (aside from Agust D, this is another very good place to start). I hope this help, and i’m glad you enjoyed their MV.
