And I've seen many parts of America that look like Nigeria, we aren't different, and its no reason to be disrespectful of someone's life and home just because its different from yours. I mean he seemed very happy to be showing his life to someone else, and she just wanted to shit on everything.

I suffer from a particular type of eczema that attacks my skin with heat, and despite it's frustrating and there's not a final cure to it I live perfectly. So yeah, Ed has been ridiculous and didn't stop begin such a messy horrible (inside) person even after the first experience. I personally look for cleanliness more than creature comforts, but like most ordinary people (not the entitled people on the show) I have had a regular life and I've been poor and had to make things work, it's not a big deal. My family home in the Philippines is like this and it isn't as clean but it's really easy to adjust. You get used to the sleeping arrangement pretty quickly and the shower thing is also pretty easy, you dump water on yourself and use soap. I've had white friends who were born and raised accustomed to western middle class lifestyle like me who adjusted just fine when coming back home with me. It's far from a bad living condition and I think most people would fare just fine that way.
