EU lanes are narrower compared to USA lanes. This is why US trucks have a longer wheel base which provides a much smoother and more comfortable ride. Also, US trucks are allowed to drive for 11 hours every 24 hours whereas EU trucks only 9 for every 24 hours, having the extra comfort while driving is really important to the driver. In addition to that, European cities have narrow streets. This is why EU trucks have a shorter wheel base which makes them lighter and easier to maneuver in urban areas.
EU trucks have fewer blinds spots due to their design which in turn makes them a little safer compared to US trucks.
