    I owned 3 Volvo trucks. Two of them where VNLs. 660 and 780. My first truck was a 1989 GMC / Volvo W164T. I bought that in 1996. Really thinking about buying an 860., however, that auto shift is not my cup of tea. Can someone with a 13 speed or 18 speed manual with under 50K miles, let me know and I will pay you cash for it.

    Why do the designers insist on putting the fridge on the floor. Some of old boys have a difficult time getting access to it. You have to get on the floor to see what’s inside

    Would never trust ANYTHING coming out of Bolingbrook. Whether it be a shady truck company or a truck dealer. Everything around the Chicago area simply smells like a scam. Why is that? Because it is! I would definitely shop elsewhere. Nothing but a huge ripoff when it comes to that area. And this is simply due to very obvious reasons.

    Optimized idle is not new. Freightliner has had that option since the late 90s. I had it in my 96 FLD120. Very good system

    All that money spent so u can have a piece crap single din space stereo system. Junk the industry got rid of 15 years ago. 18 inches of that sleeper is a fake wind barrier where stacks belong.

    I LOOOOVE these big Volvos! I used to drive one some years back and it was honestly the best truck I've ever driven. Everything in it is so well thought out. It appears the new redesigned 2025 model is doing away with the sun roof and that's too bad because I think Volvo is the last manufacturer to offer that really nice feature.

    I was old school driver late 70s early 80s Teamster . We had no radio, no Gps {Our Gps was Rand McNally } ,no cell phone's , no computers or Cb's unless you installed it at your own expense . When are they coming up with a truck that can drive itself ? You can lay in the bunk and play video games ? You push the knob on the right and a hand come up from under the seat and gives you a HJ . Less money on lot lizards , less down time for STD ! Just joking glad you guy's have all this comfort available Just jealous !

    yea pete out did them self needs a 3rd petal and 18spd! Im in a mid roof 579 i like it. the few things i wish it had is the upper storage on the back wall since its a single bunk, the T.V mount, bunk windows and the old style dash & cabinet doors vs the leather covers lol.

    Was in one for 177,000 miles, moved back into freightliner because I got tired of the automatic transmission failing all the time. Longest down time was 48 days which is a lot of lost income. On another note, why does the smart nav run 2014 android on it? Ten year old operating system in a new truck how does that make any sense? The interior was awesome, so much room, the battery run hvac kept the entire cab cool, I miss that interior.

    Ok so driving 8 hours straight one will need at least 2 stops for bathroom or pickup something. Thats about half hour each. You have to log this but how? As OD? If you do that does it cut into your 11 hour driving time?

  • @trxexpress
    @trxexpress27 күн бұрын

    Yes, so you must have at least a 30 minute break as OFF DUTY within the first 8 hours. You can't drive continuously for 8 hours. Going OFF DUTY or ON DUTY or even YARD MOVE doesn't cut into your DRIVING time but does affect your 14-hour shift. Only while in motion (driving) will cut into your 11 hour DRIVING time. Hope that helps! Good luck!

  • @missohio8548

    Ty for this video Im studying for the permit and have to know this. So do you have to drive 8 hours straight before break is mandatory or just after 8 hours?

ODND 30min Break (#2) OFFD (7 hours 45min logged; 1 hour OFFD, 6hours ODD, 45min ODND). Drive 4hours 0min (Totals = 1 hour OFFD, 10hours ODD, 45min ODND). Total HOS = 11hours 45min ODD, ODND, OFFD. Drive LAST HOUR Drive 1 hour: Drive to Consignee/Shipper/Cue line waiting /backing & docking OR locating Rest Stop/Ttuck Stop/Hotel to stage for 10Hour Layover. I've been in one for 2 days now. Could you make the mirrors any smaller? That 50% reduction isn't enough. We really don't need mirrors anyway . I also like how all the instruments are on one cluster and their digital I also appreciate how you have to actually hold the pump in each side as you fuel I'm sure it's for a safety reason that the nozzle won't stay put. Safety safety safety
