American Tourist Surprises Chinese Grandpa With Flawless Mandarin 😂

Ойын-сауық

I imagine it's even better when it's a minor language like the African language videos he made not long ago. Like theres valid reasons to learn Chinese because it's kinda international but not really the African languages unless you plan to move there and even then you can often get away with international languages (like English or French). To a lesser degree also minor European languages, but they also have more similarities to English so not as impressive as learning some random minor African language.

Not only have I starting practicing my mother tongue (Spanish) again (which I’ve had a major mental block to learning for years), I’ve also starting learning Portuguese to speak with my coworkers. Downloaded Duolingo today and I’m already nearing 2000xp. Keep up the amazing work!

As someone who knows both Mandarin and Fuzhounese, the way the tattoo artist was speaking (tone and energy-wise) was very accurate in how my parents are when with family and friends. I thought it was absolutely hysterical when he said "you speak Fuzhounese?" cuz he said it with such energy that I would personally say that it was more on par with him saying "This mf knows Fuzhounese too!"

This was an unexpected pleasure! I live not even an hour from central London and Chinatown is like second home to me. Since a lot of the places I usually visit while up there (Japan Centre, Las Vegas arcade in SoHo, Forbidden Planet ect, I'm a nerd) I always make the effort to just walk through and bask in the smells, the people, it's a very humbling area. The Kowloon restaurant & bakery have super delicious products there! The people of China are such hard workers, I can't imagine the struggle of being an immigrant but they've succeeded in so much and I'm proud to see their faces whenever I'm there. Cheers for visiting them us!
