British General Charles Lord Cornwallis... Benedict Arnold... Marquis de Lafayette... General Anthony Wayne.
On the morning of July 6, 1781 - advancing with several regiments, Wayne marched right into a veteran British brigade which then smashed through the American right flank with a decisive bayonet charge while the American left was hard-pressed by British light infantry.
Lafayette gave the order for the entire American force to withdraw. Wayne’s men formed a rearguard. For fifteen minutes the two sides blazed away at each other. Eventually, Wayne decided that the carnage was too great for his men and ordered a retreat. The Americans fell back to Richmond in order to regroup and re-supply. Meanwhile, Cornwallis received new orders to set up a permanent supply base... at Yorktown.
Bringing to life with vivid recreations, sound and editing -- focused living history documentaries on Rev War battles -- as well as some of the men who led and those who followed and fought with heroism and without regard for themselves - fighting for family, home… love of country and the men standing in line next to them.

The battle was reenacted in such a large well cleared field. Was it like that in 1781? How did they clear so much land?

Lord Cornwallis was an excellent officer, but he was badly let down by high command. He should have been given complete freedom of action in such a large area.

Both sides at least how the video was poor shots with those guns for the number of the deceased of just 28. But with a tad over 120 on top of that wounded in real life during the battle, it was more obviously in real life than the re enactments. I did not realize back then that they used strickly line commands during gun fire throughout the battle instead of the military tactics starting I guess in the civil war to utilize military tactics of utilizing barriers and such for extra protection while engaging with each other. Totally different tactics between the revolutionary war and civil war. Many of the civil war tactics are used today but with obvious way more advanced technology in electronics and firearms in warfare with more advanced techniques applied yet very similar. Either way, wars in general, there is no winners really with all the deaths but there is national heros and vets who in my heart deeply deserve the medal of Honor a they are awarded with.

I've been a reenactor in NYS for roughly 15yrs and that has always been one of my pet peeves too. Many British units don't want to get their uniforms dirty. If we do an event on a Federal historic site we are not allowed to fake death or actually fire in the direction of the enemy. When we do smaller events on private sites we can make it look much more realistic. The other issue is each individual unit needs their own liability insurance policy and there can be restrictions on that too. Some small events we have the natives scalp and take belongings from the fallen. I've even been hanged in front of hundreds of spectators using a Hollywood harness. My daughter watched and said it looked too real!
