I want to create a watering hole for people who want to discuss, learn and teach about history through KZread videos which you guys recommend to me through the comment section or over on Discord. 9:01 The peak on the right with the tall spike sticking up is Säntis, I've hiked up and down it twice, such an awesome area. The valley he shows at the beginning with the crazy cliffs and waterfall is Lauterbrunnen, another amazing place. Being originally from Switzerland I go every year to see family and always go off on another hike.
The Alps are very young as mountains go and therefore very pointy. Plus there have been multiple empires and civilisations over the years that have developed the infrastructure in the region. The end result is incredible access to some of the most beautiful and dramatic vistas you might ever see. 😃

I'm considering Switzerland for my next trip. I've been to Bavarian and the Austrian Alps but the mountains look way better in Switzerland.
I done Grossglockner pass on my Harley with about 20 mates on their bikes. We spent the whole day just riding from one end of the pass to the other and back again.
10:19 - Mont-Blanc is shared between France and Italy, Matterhorn between Switzerland and Italy. If France and Italy have the highest western mountain (i.e. Mont-Blanc), Switzerland holds the record to have on its territory, 25 out of 30 highest peaks fully (20) or partly (5) on its sole territory. 🇨🇭🏆
I have relatives who live in Liechtenstein and when you look out of their back door, you can see the Swiss Alps on one side and the Austrian Alps on the other. Needless to say, I love visiting them. Interlaken is lovely to visit, as is Bern. Been up the Hoher Kasten on the Swiss side near Appenzell and Malbun in Liechtenstein, which is on the Austrian border.
