I wrote "UNBELIEVABLY, you are UNDER selling Leicester City and their 5,000/1 achievement to win the World's most prestigious domestic League i.e. The English Premier League. This is the sequence of events. 1/ As you said they got Promoted. 2/Their FIRST season up they were bottom for 90% of the season and were 1/100 to get relegated i.e You put $100 to win $1 but, incredibly, having won 2/27 they won around 7 or 8 games out of the last 10 and stayed up on the final day. The Manager who saved them departed, hastily(under a cloud), and 65-year-old Raiieri(sacked from his 3 previous jobs) so 5,000/1 over the 38 games and you know the rest"

The clips at 9:00 is Juninho, Brazilian and Lyon (French club) legend and easily without a doubt the best free kick taker in the history and some people even call him “the man who scores freekicks as easy as penalties” He also helped Lyon win 7 consecutive Ligue 1 titles (2001-2007). They had zero titles prior and zero titles since, shows how much of a beast this guy was.

The Zidane headbutt was the last thing he did in football, he retired after that World Cup. In a way it's an iconic way to leave but i think i remember even him saying he regret leaving football and i'm sure he could still have played another 3-4 years at least. The Euro's is the same as the World Cup only for European nations, in the same way North America got the Gold Cup, South America got Copa America, Africa got Africa Cup of Nations and Asia got Asian Cup, all continental tournaments.

No matter the headbutt, Zidane is a GOAT midfielder. Only new people would say he isn't GOATED due to the headbutt. Headbutting Materazzi is a miniscule thing compared to what he has achieved in the game.

Germany did go on to win that WC after beating Brazil. They beat Argentina 1-0 in the final. I remember hearing there were literal riots in Brazil after that semi final

Yes and if that wasn't enough, they then tried to redeem themselves by at least getting third place against Holland (who's coach had said it was such a pointless match that they just wanted to go home after the defeat by Argentina). Brazil lost that game as well. Humiliation extended. The backstory of the Brazilian defeat at home is another famous story of how Uruguay defeated Brazil in the final of the 1950 world cup when Brazil was the overwhelming favorite.

Yes, 'the hand of god' is bc of Argentine resentment over the Falklands... he's saying that God intervened to give them justice in the form of that goal, he's not saying that he is god - it's still denying that his own hand was used

@@dylansharkey6040 Ironically, the Falkland Islands are probably the only British territory that we acquired entirely fairly. It has only ever been occupied by British citizens - it was uninihabited before British colonists landed in the early 19th Century - and Argentina's claim is based purely on them being the country closest to it (but not close enough to claim ownership under any recognised form of international law). There's a further irony to the war in 1982 in that the Falklands is a costly territory for us to own, and given the way that British foreign policy was going at the time had the Argentinians not invaded we'd almost certainly have transferred sovereignty to them by now.

​@@chrispalmer7893 Thats not true, the british colonists expelled the argentines in 1833. And also, prior to that, spain and france occupied the islands. Argentina´s claim is solid and legitimate, thats why the UN still lists the islands as a colony disputed by the UK and Argentina.

Roberto Carlos would practice that free kick for ages in training and tried it in other matches and it would go nowhere near the goal. That one time he managed it was just so magical that i dont think sports science has explained it to this day

Roberto Carlos admitted recently that the wind massively took it and it was likely going wide otherwise. Still though we have seen him put some crazy curl on the ball in games so I'm sure the pace he put on helped massively

Germany won the 2014 world cup by obviously defeating Brazil 7-1 in semis and Argentina in Final 1-0 This was Prime Messi vs Prime Germany a Great Intense match but Germany Prevailed At the end even though Argentina created more chances (easy chances to score). Argentina,Brazil, Germany and Italy are big deal if you defeat them in the latter stage of WC ,it's massive for anyone's history

It's great that Corey reacted and saw this video. This is arguably the best video on the internet that articulates well enough the passion and the love for the game.

I love to see Americans hyped up about football.. you should watch MLS too, it needs your support so the sport can grow more in your country. As an European I watch a lot of MLS in the summer when there is no European football and I think its getting better and better with every season.

The USL too! There's a good chance that if your US city doesn't have an MLS team, it has a USL team. It's exciting that we have a viable 2nd league, and even 3rd and 4th tier leagues. Many of the teams have their own academies too. It's obviously a lower level of play than the MLS but even some recently popular players like Aaronson, Adams, Steffen, Turner, etc are all ex-USL players. And a lot of the team at the U-20 world cup right now are on or used to be on a USL team. A USL team even made it to the US Open Cup final last year (our FA Cup, basically). Football does seem to be growing a lot here and I hope it keeps on growing.

Of course Germany won the 2014 World Cup, actually in that same video you can see Götze´s genius goal against Argentina in the final. All in all I notice a bit of a bias against (or at least some indifference towards) the German clubs and national team. They are HUGE in football, Germany is after Brazil the greatest footballing nation on Earth, and Bayern Munich is the only club that can see Real Madrid at eye level.

Absolutely, pound for pound I think Germany is actually the more successful team (or maybe Brazils equal). If you give points to the teams based on how far they progress in the world cup Germany is consistently in the quarter finals and up (well last two world cups may have changed my argument)

The headbutt vs Materazzi made him more of a hero to me! He was known for playing crazy, dirty and injuring players, his nickname was "The killer". And he said something about Zidane's mother right after she passed. So he snapped. But the statement; "Don't talk shit about my mom." Respect. Edit: You should do a Materazzi highlight video, there are a lot of them.

Huge final match day in Germany this weekend. Borussia Dortmund is 2 points ahead of Bayern Munich going into the final match. If they manage to get the win against Mainz then they will win their first Bundesliga title since 2011/12 and snap a 10 year run of dominance from Bayern Munich. But with a draw or loss and a Bayern win they lose out on their best chance to get a title.

The Worldcup 2014 was so great, i am german and was 10 at that time but I still remember everything because it was such a great time. From the quarter finals against France with a close 1:0, to the semi finals against brasil and then to top it of a close overtime 1:0 win against Argentina. I still remember running around my street screeming and partying with the whole neighbourhood. One of the best memorys I have to this day.

The thing that makes the Roberto Carlos freekick so amazing is that he shoots with his leftfoot so he's basically hitting the ball with the outside of his foot. It would have been an amazing freekick shot with the inside of his foot from that distance. An outside curve like that...just unreal..he's actually done another goal like that but in full speed from the cornerflag..

I am so glad you guys reacted to this video. It is the One. The One that among Americans creates curiosity, if not fandom, for soccer eventually transcending KZread, to live watching games on tv, to going to games in person. Amazing intro, to build-up of highlights, music bed, having the best/enthusiastic play-by-play commentary.

To curve the ball you need to hit it on the right spot with the right force but the thing is, that spot and force changes depending on the distance the ball needs to travel and the surface on which it needs to travel (air or grass). You also need to compensate for wind and density/humidity of the pitch. It’s great to see Americans finally understanding football. There’s no American sport that requires the same level of sheer skill, coordination, speed and endurance in one package: - You need Track & Field levels of sprinting speed. - The balance and strength of a gymnast. - the coordination skills of a circus juggler. - the endurance of a triathlete. The average pro player runs 90 minutes non stop, with just a 15 minute break at half time, covering 7 miles of running per game.

This was my go to move on the wings as a wing defender. Always tracking back ti ball, around the touch line side like I would collect and go inside then right as the other team player changed to intercept I would cruyff to the outside. That was also the tip to my winger to break to corner and I would launch a curling deep pass down the touch line

12:00 Crucial part of that goal is that just 4 years earlier England/UK were at war against Argentina for Falklands Islands very near coast of Argentina and pretty far from UK but anyhow due to technological superiority and bigger range and number of British warships, UK won that war with ease so that goal had huge symbolism in Argentina and throughout the World as symbol of victory of "third world" country against British imperialism...

I think you should look up German football later on. While it gets a lot of shit for being a so called "Farmer's League", the system is interesting and there are certain unforgettable moments like Bayern and BVB meeting each other in 2013 at the CL final, Bayern destroying basically every club in sight in 2019/2020, BVB vs Real Madrid in the 2012/2013 CL and Lewandowski's unforgettable performance in it, etc.

The good spurs moment you guys talked about might be the only moment i nearly cried from football. Because they won they kicked ajax out of the champion league in the semi finals. Ajax was massive underdog that entire tournament and were playing insanely beautiful attacking football. They were on the miracle run beating real madrid and juventus with a young, fearless team. The fun thing about the coach who got greece to win the euro - Otto Rehhagel - he won the german league 1998 with Kaiserslautern which just got promoted to the first league, just like Leicester.

As a german I just wanted to add that Kahn is a legend of 90s football at least. I'm not sure if he compares to Beckenbauer, but he's definitely somewhere up there as one of the best goalkeepers of his time, only to be (in my opinion) topped by Manuel Neuer who is the last goalkeeper I watched on the german national team. Google says he has been replaced by Marc Andre ter Stegen, who I don't really know though. I remember watching the game where Germany beat Brazil 7:1 - it was unbelievable. I just remember sitting there with a friend in disbelief, especially because we were nervous about Brazil, having soccer legends in their team. Unfortunately I think this video leaves out lots of german goals. I think the goal Götze scored when they won the World Cup only was shown a fraction of a second. The game was unbelievably nerve-wrecking.... Of course Messi is great, but it's boring only to see him all the time when there have been other great football players, especially from Germany. Bastian Schweinsteiger (who famously got badly injured in a final and continued to play anyway) was only shown a second, Thomas Müller was left out basically entirely and Toni Kroos who is very respected and plays fantastic football in Spain was nowhere to be seen. PS: You really should react to Manuel Neuer's greatest goalkeeps or something, that'll be great 😀 PPS: Actually there are a lot of those videos to find on youtube, just checked.

One thing you need to look at is Goalkeepers of the 1980's. They used to catch the ball a lot more than Goalkeepers of today whereas they now generally tip the ball off to the side. You'll be amazed. Look up Bruce Grobbelaar (Liverpools Goalkeeper).

I would say you already know more about football than 90% of football fans. Most people know alot about their club and nothing else. Also knowing the year thinhgs happened is top notch. I personally think the "AGUEROOOOOOO!!!!!" goal is one of the most astonishing finishes to a season that I have seen. That goal gave Manchester City, its first Premier League Title. The team prior to that moment had been known as a hard luck team (until they got purchased by a Persian Gulf Oil State). City was in a neck and neck race with its cross town rival Manchester United for the Championship. City had to win to claim the championship. The team City was facing, Queens Park Rangers had a significant number of Man City castoffs who had something to prove against their old team, and were also fighting to avoid relegation. To further increase the drama, Man City were down 2-1 as the game went into stoppage time. City scored two goals to win the game in stoppage time, which included Aguero's goal in the closing moments of the match.

Luke, I have to apologize about the "Eye Roll" comment (which I have removed) - I have seen other videos where when the Aguero Goal is mentioned produces some measure of consternation and derision (likely from Man United Fans).

How about you guys talking about Mitoma. Brighton's Japanese player who, instead of take his debut after high school, goes to college and taking a major about, football. He studies everything about football, and got a degree for that. Not many players did this. I think he is a unique in his own way.
