Northern Sweden here. One of my favorite seasons is what we call "the fifth season", spring-winter. That is when there are spring temperatures but still snow. The second part of March when the sun is back after a long absence and sparkles against the snow so it becomes extremely bright, it's wonderful (for anyone who doesn't suffer from migraines). When it's warm enough to sunbathe in a t-shirt in a pile of snow, then you're alive.

Summer first, autumn second, winter third and spring fourth. Sometimes winter and autumn change places. I love all the four seasons. Couldn't live without them.

Winter is probably the best season. This summer was hellishly hot even relatively North of the country. At least it didn't snow much this Summer

In Ostrobothnia it has been a relatively "cold" summer, and lots of rain.

I remember visiting my relatives in the northest part of sweden many years ago. I went outside and all i saw was black dots everywhere. It looked like millions of mosquitos. You know when the old TVs were like sparkling with white and black dots? Thats what it looked like. Ran with hood up to the car to not get eaten alive lol

I live in (sort of) Northern Finland, and there's usually snow from late November until early May. Some years we get the first snowfall of the season in September but generally the snow doesn't stay yet. Sometimes we have a random snowfall in June, but those are rare. Mosquitoes are a real problem during summer. I had a friend come over from New Orleans and he complained about the mosquitoes... when we were in the city center. I personally like spring the least of all the seasons, but it's probably the best time to go cross country skiing. There's just something about skiing in late April in a warm +5°C weather after a cold night while the snow is still slick and the Sun is shining.

I live in sourthern Finland and the whole summer was a bit more cool and rainy then usual- Though- obviously now that the summer vacation has passed the warm days come out. though in a funny manner. the morning are cool and nice, but during the day the sun is like a fricking heat laser.

If you want to experience real winter, then I suggest january or february, maybe march in Finland and in central or northern Finland especially. Not southern Finland. I like winter and the darkness. And when the snow comes it's not that dark. This summer has been very humid so that adds to the warmth quite a bit and it has been a great thing for the ticks, that are not my favourites. Greetings from central Finland.

Hi Dar If you invest money in seing the Nordic winter, you has to go up high, where snow and ice is certain. I recommend Rovaniema in Finland. BTW, a little north of Rovaniema is a minor town called Sodankylä. Coincidently, here live a countryman of yours. Coincidently, he is also a YT'er, he calls himself GIO BOZZ. Coincidently, he is also a basketball fan/player. I can already see the two of you on the frozen lake, inventing Ice basket. I am sure he will welcome a visitor in the dark winter, just to avoid boredom. That's the place to go, if you want winter.

I was born in june. Ny dad told it snowed then. Marraskuu is one of my favourite. It is so dark, gloomy and depressing it is beautiful. Winter months can be tough. Darkness is the worst for me.
