"A Bit of Fry and Laurie" was a sketch based show. Hugh Laurie was indeed in Blackadder. He was also in the American show HOUSE as the main character. He is also a talented blues/jazz singer and pianist and has had his own CDs.

He was also in Stuart Little. Which i now realises ages me and is probably irrelevant to JP.

Maybe you recognise "the other guy" as Dr Gregory House. House was a US medical drama that ran for...hmmmm...maybe 6 or 7 seasons? To my mind, it was one of the best shows the US has ever produced (and there' lots of strong competition!).

Hugh and Stephen's 'Jeeves and Wooster' is a classic series, but so English you may not even understand it! Hugh's 'upper class twit' character is genius and Stephen was born to play Jeeves. Give it a try. Stephen and Hugh were room mates either as students or as graduates. Emma Thompson introduced them. That would have been a party!!

I loved the original Ian Carmicheal and Dennis Price TV version of Jeeves and Wooster but Frye and Laurie had me rolling in the aisles too. PG Wodehouse is one of my favourite authors.

I love British humour, it was always on in my home in childhood! So British, no passion or impulses, just clinical preparedness! 😄👏 Hugh Laurie was the star of House! ☀️ As a lover of history, I can always watch an episode of Blackadder!👍 Have you seen any Monty Python (John Cleese & co) movies? Hi Joel, Hugh Laurie was in black adder, house a US TV series, in real life he was in the Oxford v Cambridge boat race, he is also an accomplished musician, but I must say not for everyone's tastes.

This series, and others such as That Was The Week That Was, and It's a Square World, which I watched as a pre-teen in England, created a life-long love for zany British humour. Joel, as 2022 draws to a close, please accept my thanks and admiration for your drive to get to know cultures outside your own. In my 70+ yrs. I have visited over 100 countries, many several times. I have lived in each of seven for four years or more, on four continents. Now, as MS limits movement, people like me live vicariously through younger family members, good literature, a few decent tv programmes, and channels such as yours, few though they may be. To observe your wonder at seeing new cultures, and the blessed naïvité of your discoveries, reminds me of my own innocence and delight when meeting things outside the norms of my East African early years. May you and all whom you love be blessed with fulfillment and continued wonder in 2023. 🥳

If you can find some more Fry and Laurie, I'd definitely go for it! They have been friends since University, ad have worked together many times. I would recommend Jeeves and Wooster if you can find that. You will know Hugh Lauries from various roles in various Blackadders, and possibly from House in the US.

Fry and Laurie was a comedy series from the mid eighties. Clever and original. They met at Cambridge University and became good friends. Went onto work as a comedy team. Their next big project was PG Woodhouse Jeeves and Wooster, which was v successful and they nailed it. A must see TV series. Hugh plays Bertie Wooster the upper class twit and Stephen plays the all knowing genius butler. Recommend!

Hugh Laurie is in Blackadder 3 and 4. He’s the guy playing Prince George and Lieutenant George respectively. Hugh Laurie and Stephen Fry worked together a lot, very much seen as comedy partners. A Bit of Fry & Laurie is a sketch show which they did together for a few years. They also did an adaptation of Jeeves & Wooster. Hugh Laurie went on to find new fame in America on the medical show House. He’s of course done a lot more than just those shows, including various films.

Oh, please react to more bits of this show. It's absolutely hilarious. Especially the double-entendre barkeeper and the sketches in which Fry plays completely crazy shop assistants.

I loved them in Jeeves and Wooster. I actually put off watching House for ages because l just couldn’t make Hugh Laurie an American in my mind, however, when l finally watched it l thought it was very good.

Keep going with Fry and Laurie. also would higlhy recommend watching Jeeves and Wooster. It's an adaptation of the books of P.G. Woodhouse, 1920's period sitcom. Stephen Fry is valet to Hugh Laurie.
