    It can't be mentioned too often how good the animation is. There must be 20 hours total and not a minute of it is thrown together. There's always nuance and details and adding their own visual gags and callbacks. It must have been a labour of love for them.

    Karl kinda did predict the smoothie before they were a popular thing with his "blend everything" prediction. He also predicted Google glass AR (not VR). He also did predict "big germs in 2021" and altho these animations were from podcasts in 2010 he orginally said the exact same things on their XFM radio show around the year 2001.

    I live near a lot of parks, and whenEVER I see a duck, for like the last ten years or so, I hear Karl in my head saying "I've always wanted to kick a duck up the arse" and I literally have to stop my self bursting out laughing in public because of it 😅

    It’s not exactly VR, it’s AR (Augmented Reality). It does exist but it never really took off. There used to be a maps app that worked through your phone camera, and it would show you little signs on your screen that would tell you things about where you are. Overlaying on top of what you’re actually seeing. And give you directions with arrows and stuff. But nobody really used it.

    Never really took off? You do realise that VR devices such as the Quest 2/Pro have AR built in to them through pass-through. Very popular, and will be better with each new VR iteration.

    In the UK, eating 5 portions of fruit & vegetables each day is often encouraged for health reasons.

  • @Tomp4ul

    @Tomp4ul

    5 portions is the recommended minimum these days, with the actual daily recommended being 10 portions of mainly veg (fruit is mostly pretty sugary so isn't recommended you eat much daily) (with 1 portion being roughly 80g - for example, a medium tomato weighs roughly this, and a medium-large banana often weighs more.)

    Karl had an intersting point about blending food. Teeth are weaking, foods getter softer, convenience. Convenience as people follows. They get softer too. All this worthy and right way of having to be nowadays. People are losing their true beliefs and identities because they’re scared people will judge them. People are going soft! And Karls principle predicted it

    Always sensible to look at the route on map before you leave and make a quick note of the major roads. I wont be the last person that my sat nav has sent up some absurd, near impassible narrow country lane instead of the logical main road. (and its happened more than once)

    Karl actually has a point about soft foods. I watched a random short TED video just the other day about why our teeth are so messed up these days but the fossil records of ancient humans always have really straight teeth. And it's because they are harder foods which made their jaws bigger giving teeth enough room to grow properly. But what with cooking and farmer our foods are softer meaning our jaws are smaller so the teeth jostle for space and push neigh outing teeth to be more crooked

    If you want to crack your back, sit on your knees, then put your arms to the side of your body and walk them round slowly as if you are trying to walk your arms behind your back. Eventually, your back was slowly start to crack do this both ways and you should be Goulden, but don’t push yourself too far or you will hurt yourself. That’s the way I crack my back every day it’s just something I have to do because due to my terrible jeans, I have very bad bones just generally speaking. • @Cbricklyne
    @Cbricklyne Жыл бұрын

    It's actually called AR - Augmented Reality. Not VR,......and no, Karl didn't invent it nor conceive it. It's been around since as far back as the 1990's (and even way earlier than that in Sci-fi going all the way back to the 1950's) but has never really ever taken off with the public and in consumer electronics. The most recent versions have been in things like Google's now defunct Google Glass that had a version of it, and Microsoft's Holo-lens glass concept AR/VR glasses. They still make and sell versions of them for professional companies and fields like medical research and engineering.

    I read some theory somewhere that we'd lose fingers because of evolution in fact I know some who only need the thumb for the remote. A weird prediction was in 'The Outer Limits' TV show called 'The 6th Finger' where a guy went into an Evolution 'machine' which advanced him till he had five fingers and a thumb on each hand. Mind you, he also had a huge head, pointed ears and super brain power. David McCallum played him, 'Ducky' from NCIS.

    If I'm not mistaken, the ñ actually used to be nn (compare Latin or Italian 'anno' with Spanish 'año'), but to save time and ink, some monks started to write the second n above the first one but smaller, and then the curve of the n got smoothed out, n > ~, so now it just looks like a noodle. Same story in Portuguese where they write the ~ above nasalised vowels because there used to be an actual n there. Compare Spanish 'Corazón' and Portuguese 'Coração'

    I once dreamt it was the end of the world. Everyone was in shock and didn't know what to do. Everyone reacted in a different way. It was total chaos. Some people just stood and did nothing. Some were trying to get somewhere and stopped obeying the rules of the road so they crashed. Nobody was arguing because there was no point in winning. Everyone was brought down to zero. I wondered into a random pub and gave a wonan a hug. We consoled each other like we'd known each other our whole lives. All difference was eradicated. All ego lost.

    Hi Mandy! * Why * would you want to crack your back at all? Surely you’d be better served with a good massage to ease the tension and knots in your muscles. Furthermore 👆 who else’s goal is to crack their back? Try an osteopath or chiropractor if your spine’s out of whack 😀 I flew off a racing motorcycle, speeding round a corner on track day at Silverstone after a spot of rain during lunch, and my ribcage was out of sorts for a few weeks til I went to see a chiropractor, and he adjusted it back good and proper 🤌 such a relief 👍 6:27 Karl’s on the cusp of a deep philosophical question and Ricky knows it. I don’t know why the animators drew him as fed up, the “what does that mean?” Is a probing question to see if he’ll flesh out the broader dilemma. He does it again at 10:26 22:31 👀😉 yeah - augmented reality (AR), I was so excited when Microsoft bought Minecraft, and we saw previews of their Minecraft AR Hololens technology, It’s a shame big tech aren’t quite ready to deliver the mass consumer AR product yet, Google Glass was a bit too ambitious! 28:31 Dark thought by Stephen there, I’m calling the thought police! 🚨 Hope you’re having a fantastic today, and’ll have an even better tomorrow 🤗🌻

    Yeah, my physio says often it's more about training your muscles into good shape in the right place, rather than 'cracking' something back into place. A 'crack' might provide some temporary relief, but if not done by a professional and as part of a more complete treatment that addresses the problem in the long run, it can cause more issues in the long run.

    Also, to be fair to carl, it is true, the more letters you have another language as well as the word. Do you have any language indicates the intelligence of the people who speak that language. For example, I would imagine Chinese has one heck of a lot of words but for the life of me, I cannot understand that alphabet, so I don’t really know. They do however, seem very intelligent so that’s fine reason for this belief. English at the moment is the largest known language on the Earth, and generally speaking, you’ll find the most intelligent people can speak English to a degree at the very least. I’m not saying we need new letters, but if the English language were to be improved, one of the key ways to do, it would be to add more letters, but then you could also argue that says Spanish which has several different words for masculine and feminine and has all the different little bits that you put at the top of say e’s for example. So perhaps you could say that the Spanish language has more letters in the English? Carl is a very strange guy to understand, but he does have something going on up there

    Karl is totally right about Satnavs. I've been driving for over 30 years, and learnt all the routes using an A-Z street atlas; As a result I can find my way to most places without being spoon fed the directions, and I've learnt alternative routes that are often better than the routes a Satnav wants to send you. Its also much harder to learn routes if your being spoon fed them by a machine, because most people aren't concentrating on where they are, just what the Satnav is telling them. As tech improves, people are becoming dumber.

    Remember all those idiots on their phones in the middle of the street playing pokemon go. Virtual reality, as carl has thought, already exists.

    You shouldn’t try to crack your back, it might give you temporary relief but it won’t last long. Any spinal surgeon will tell you that it is completely pointless and actually bad for you and those guys are real medical professionals unlike chiropractors.

    I stopped wearing trousers since 2010 thanks to Karl. Don't worry about Steve, Karl has done a psychopath test on him surreptitiously and he's not one (phew!)

    Nah some ducks can be assholes like any animal, but ducks can be bad. Ducks like a lot of birds just rape and rape, feel bad for the female ducks, not the males. Maniac swans are worse when they go on a rampage.

    It's actually called AR Mandy, 'Augmented Reality'. It's funny that Ricky outright dismisses this at the time, and years later it became a reality. However it's not very popular, it became a fad for a while, but recently it seems to be going the way of the 3D movie. That being said, most movies were made into 3D after shooting in post production (not using 3D/Imax cameras) which meant the quality of the 3D effect was kinda rubbish, and didn't feel worth paying extra for. Now that, that, fad is dying, it's allowed the 3D movie market to be what it always should of been; limited. only where needed, and shot on 3D/Imax cameras. The same may happen with AR, in terms of getting quality over quantity.

    Karl's vision though was that everything could look safe even if dangerous. That would lead to lots of deaths. AR isn't that good.
