If you lived in Minneapolis during the Floyd riots, you lived this. There's nothing but truth in this song and the lyrics. The clips used were all previously nationally televised by news stations. There's nothing racist about this song. It's facts. If you're upset about it, ask yourself why...

Jason Aldean is suing The View. People are waking up though. “I don’t think that Whoopi even knows what she’s talking about because let’s be very clear about one thing, not a single city, community, or individual besides the looters, really, benefited from the BLM protests,” DuRousseau told Lawrence Jone Cross Country. “They destroyed so many communities and so many livelihoods, and yet we are supposed to just embrace them for that?” -- Former BLM Activist Xaviaer DuRousseau

I've lived in a small town when I was younger. Jason is right everyone knows everyone. I can't tell you how many times I'd go into a local store and hear, you're so and so daughter, or you're so and so granddaughter. Believe me as a kid, if you did something that someone didn't like, someone would go to my grandmother and tell a tale on me. I enjoyed the song, and the video, which showed what was happening in the cities all over the country. There were BLM groups, Antifa and a whole lot of bad actors and it wasn't just blacks there were lot of whites and other races using the protests as an excuse to engage in violence and criminal activity.

Gentlemen, thank you for a good honest opinion of this song. I agree. Love from Ireland.
I don't feel that the song is racist. I just feel like there's a lot of people in world who's sick and tired of the killing, vandalism and disrespect from all races. His song has GREAT voice, music, course but maybe not meant to be, it has a subliminal. My feel that most of the time "not" all the time large cities have a lot of crime. Maybe more people, less program for low income, more disrespect, unfair jobs, unfair pay, unfair law etc. I'm just afraid people may take this song as: "Dare you song" People commit crimes everywhere, no matter what race you are. But maybe people haven't thought about (small towns population are between 10,000- 40,000) but he just put small towns on blast. And with this song it could be a challenge for people to come in and start vandalizing small town just because of the song........ There's a lot of mental people in the world that does hurtful and deathly things to people for no reason at all. this is just my opinion "ONLY" I feel this is why their trying to ban the song. Thank you Tre' and Lamar for reacting to this song, like your channel because of the diversity of your music. But l'm Army BTS all the way💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜

Jason is from Georgia where the state of emergency was. I don’t know when I don’t watch the news. But this video was shot in Columbia Tennessee, which is where Jason currently lives with his wife and family. That’s a courthouse with the flag hanging off of it which is one of the oldest structures in Columbia. People are trying to say that because of the lynching against Black people at this courthouse took place back in the 1920s that Jason intentionally shot the video there as a subliminal message supporting lynching, which is absolutely and utterly absurd. He simply shot the video there because it’s a monumental landmark in his hometown, and he doesn’t like to travel far away from his family when he works when he can avoid it because of the touring that he usually does.
thanks, guys -- enjoyed your comments.

I grew up in small, rural town in Illinois of less than 1100 people. In fact, the entire county had less than 6000 people. This song struck such a cord because the lyrics are spot on about any small town here in Illinois.
This song has a LOT of unpacking to do to make it make sense to a lot of people. I live in a township consisting of 56 people. I don't know q single racist out here and frankly, I'm sure I speak for a shit ton of people (all colors) are over the fact that everything seems to have racism attached to it by some jackass who can't stop talking about it. I'm unapologetically white, I haven't done anything to acquire that label. People in general are just getting tired of the bullshit....
Here in our small community, 3 people were were going around to rural homes in attempt to Rob them. Each time the thieves were unsuccessful because each time the homeowners produced their own guns including 2two 11 and 12 year olds with shot guns😂. Them cowards fled and decided this wasn’t easy targets. Don’t try that in a rural community either unless you want to get hurt😢
My small town is mixed with all races. We know each other and would stand behind any of them.
I live in the Philippines now. The complacency here is parhetic. Im glad im amaerican. We fight. We give our lives cause the idea of the USA and freedom is bigger than the individual. Complacency will f you over. I see it every day
During the summer of protests and then the following rioting (many of us in the country could see the Antifa influence on the rioting). And you would hear people say “try that in a small town” as there were rumors that it would spread to the small towns as many large cities look like disaster areas on fire. Many of the people that I see saying this is a racist song are always saying “what he really means or what he is really saying” never what the song is actually saying. I’ve seen this song seems to be bringing more people together to stomp out this woke culture and say no the song is not racist . Coming from a mixed history of musical influence, you got to admit like you said, the guitar and drum tracks rock. The lyrics are not deep more a simple anthem.
Ive heard several reactors call it racist. So i appreciate that Yall objectively reacted to the music and video its. Kudos

2:11 speaking of old ladies being robbed.. my gram was in her 80's. She was about 4'11 and weighed MAYBE 90lbs. Just a tiny frail little thing. A man came up to her one afternoon in the summer of 2020 as she got out of her car, asked for directions and when she turned her head he shoved her to the ground and stole her purse. Again, my grandma was tiny and frail. He didn't have to do all that. He ended up breaking her ribs and hip. Which eventually lead to a heart attack a few days later. My grandmother never full recovered from that. After her hip breaking, she continued to trip and fall leading to more broken bones. She was dead by July 2021. Oh.. and what was in her purse? A flip phone and her wallet that had one credit card in it, her DL and a few dollars in cash. SMH.

That dude was a Marine (once a Marine, always a Marine!), and that was a highly shown video. Not just anyone could do that, or be brave enough to confront a dude pointing a gun at you. Some say they would act, but very few really would. IN this video you see violence, riots, etc...ALL media published stuff. Big difference between what city people call a protest, and a riot. Riots are illegal, and are crimes, but no one gets any punishment. It won't fly like that in most small towns, and that's all he is conveying. I see ZERO racism in this vidoe/song.

I think I might have smoked a little before I wrote that post. 😅 Lol. I’m glad it was understood though. Protect your own. A lot of times races stick together because of cultural similarities and relatability. Protect your own does sometimes mean protecting one race, but that doesn’t mean you wouldn’t protect any other race that had made it into your circle. I know that wasn’t the point but if we are talking real facts. No preferences here; my life has been a rainbow 😉. (Not the alphabet kind though, no disrespect)
1-small town they know who the shit their family members or friends are! I know from experience , you can barely get away with anything..as much as they’d protect family.. they know a family member or a friend they suspect did bad and you can’t hide! They know! Love small towns. ❤

This kind of guitar playing and drumming is more common in rock than in country. That's what surprised me the most about the song. It's not the country that was common when I was growing up during the Reagan years, neither the music nor the political environment. Like George Carlin said, "I love this country. I love the freedoms we used to have..."
“We don’t get that kind of treatment”……….if you educated yourself you’d know she actually got dealt with by the officers! A little education goes a long way and actually makes you smarter!
