The Yamato was obsolete while on the drafting table. Emperor Hirohito was completely responsible for these deaths when he asked is there no navy left to fight? These people who died could have survived and returned to their families.

The German Bismarck was the same thing. Hitler didn't want any showboating of the Bismarck after it sank the HMS Hood. Both England and Germany had no air cover to protect their signature Battleships. The HMS Hood was not a modern battleship anyway. The Germans left the survivors to die. The British reciprocated the same when the Bismarck was sunk.

Perfect example of air power against surface ships. And to think that just twenty-odd years before all the brass, at least most of the USN admirals, scoffed at the suggestion that an aeroplane could take out a warship!

Japan started war against the the US with 50 times more industrial power . The Japanese war crimes were some the worse all war crimes are bad but war is terrible business. Prayers to all soldiers on both sides hoping this planet never sees total world war again. 🙏

The reason for the war was that the US ceased to supply oil and all scrap metal to Japan which was 96% of all raw material war supplies to Japan. So I doubt that comment.

Before becoming Emperor -with only 20 years- Hirohiti visited Europe shortly after WW1, had peaceful thoughts called therefore his reigning time "enlightened peace". But: Culturally he was not able to put his authority against his nationalist military. He as emperor was abused by them as trophy and cause to fight for, had never the mindset to fight against this nationalism, was not and did not want to be informed about all the crimes commited by his military. So he was responsible and survived only because of the fear of Stalin.

The story of Captain Hara is true, he wrote a book about his war, he was the only IJN destroyer captain to survive while serving in the whole war from the beginning to the end, you can google him. It's just AI-read, obviously. And the JFK episode at the end seems to be from another book, has no bearing,, obviously someone fed the AI trader with a couple of wrong pages.

All the zooming in and out and panning all over the place doesn't make for good video. All the yelling reminds me of what a famous coach said, "When you make it into the end zone, make it look like you've been there before."
