Leuk. Ik was in de menigte buiten de station. Het was my eerste carnaval, maar mijn nicht woont dicthbij, en heeft me rondleiding doen. Zij heeft me een sjaal gegeven, en ik heb een hoed gekocht. Misschien koop ik de volgende jaar een Oeteldonke pak.

Prachtig in elkaar gezet. Je kan zien dat je steeds hogere kwaliteit levert.

Being from Amsterdam, or as they say the other side of the river, we are too nuchter for carnaval. But still cool to see even in a small country like NL there's quite a difference in culture all over the country. Glad you enjoyed it and I even learned a new thing today: the Prince is from our side of the country, never knew that!

Ach, te nuchter... Ik denk niet dat dat waar is. Als het Koningsdag is, staat half Amsterdam met een oranje klomp of molen op het hoofd. Het culturele verschil is niet zozeer dat Amsterdammers te nuchter zijn, maar dat ze tijdens Carnaval zeggen dat ze te nuchter zijn

Als ze nuchter waren was het geen GroenLinks stad geworden. Man man man wat is die stad achteruitgegaan, je ziet op sommige plekken haast geen blanke meer. Hoe hebben ze het zover laten komen.

Wat een geweldig leuke video. Ooit heb ik één keer carnaval in Oeteldonk gevierd omdat ik door mijn werkgever op maandagmorgen daar naar toe werd gestuurd om een Limburgse monteur te vervangen. Gewerkt heb ik niet, maar wel veel plezier gehad. Vele mooie herinneringen kwamen boven door jouw geweldig leuke stuk werk met een zeer professionele uitstraling.

You should come to the Gentse Feesten in July. It’s one of the biggest outdoor festivals in the whole of Europe. For 14 days straight the whole city is one big party for all ages. There are many different stages with all kinds of different music and a mix of big-and local artists. Gent is a city in Belgium though but it’s really not that far from the border, and definitely wirth the trip.

Hey Sam, glad you enjoyed yourself ! I really can't stand this kind of carnaval, well any kind of carnaval for all that matters... So when I found out this video was all about carnaval, I had to skip the entire video all the way to the end, whereas I never skip anything from you, except for that Music festival you went to and this carnaval celebration; both not my thing. I've lived in the Randstad all my life and I grew up in an Atheist way.... so yeah.... Churches I visit, I only visit when there is no mis and just to see the architecture...

Next year carnaval in boemeldonck

I am dutch, but from the north and I did not grew up with carnaval. This is kind of a lesson to me about my own country. Personally I do not like this at all, but to see you enjoy this feast is really nice! You integrate in the Netherlands better than I do, actually.

Ten minste nog een beetje cultuur en traditie in dit land, wij vieren de prins Carnaval jullie vieren Koningsdag Wij hebben een optocht met wagens en fanfares en jullie gaan kijken hoe de Koning en zn familie tekeningen komt maken met gehandicapten

Please go to Maastricht next year because if I see this video then people look way too underdressed and too normal to walk around in Maastricht! Over 200 000 people and 99% is dressed in a costume and many are soo beautiful. I went dressed as a monk and I felt underdressed with how well and extravagant everyone else was. And if you don't wear a costume you feel really weird because not wearing a costume at Maastricht carnaval makes people look at you just like people would look if you'd wear a costume when it isn't carnaval it's so crazy but really good vibes. 😂

Positive surprise that they do listen to the carnaval party music, always understood that’s a no go in Oeteldonk. The Kiel uniform idea is what I love about carnaval, however we don’t need a dresscode and I like all the creativity in outfits. But it’s something I understand and however the looks are different in basics the idea stays the same that positions and the roll someone got in every day life isn’t of any importance. The mayor is equal to a farmer, a doctor equal to a cashier. That watch I don’t understand is the different higher ranks near to the prince carnaval. Luckily those differences make every village different and you van celebrate it as you wish. Didn’t know their prince isn’t even Bosschenaar or even brabandisch and it is a real monarchy (sorry I’m republican and don’t believe in a birth right). Where I’m not visiting Breda / Kielegat because of all the visitors from Rotterdam.

I am from Noord-Brabant, so south of the rivers. I grew up with carnival but I never liked it and never will. It's just an excuse to be loud, vulgar, and drink far too much imo

Oeteldonk isn't the best carnaval experence because everybody has the same clothes on. That's borring i think. Check the 'verlichte optocht from Berghem' to see something nice.
