I see why you would think that. However, in her defence it is actually closer than it seems. Purely speculating here but, the correct answer is somewhere in her mind but she can't find it exactly. It has something to do with the royals. Their surname has orange in it (the reason the play in orange) and the national anthem (basically their family's anthem) has a sentence starting with the start of their name followed by a sentence about blood. I know it's a stretch and typing it out made it probably sound even worse😂 but I'm not deleting it now😅. Xx

Apeldoorn must be one of the best places to live in The Netherlands. Friendliness and calmness of a village, amenities of the city and basically built on the Veluwe.

I never ever knew that HEMA was short for Hollandsche Eenheidsprijzen Maatschappij Amsterdam. I also didn’t know that they’ve been around for almost 100 year. I do remember that HEMA has a very particular smell in the shop. It’s like new linnen combined with those cooked sausages and something else I can’t describe.

Dutch, generally, are one of the few peoples being patriotic, very patriotic even, without being aware of it ....

I trust the medical field of the Netherlands with my life I had personal experience with it in the Netherlands and they are super professional and compassionate I'm not saying this because I'm born and raised in the Netherlands I truly believe it. I have been all around the world (job related) and experienced it my self in other countries I just love my country. my parents are marocain and they feel the same way I really believe that the Netherlands is the best country in the world I'm not saying this just for saying it. after having children (4the generation)im thankful that my parents and grandparents made the Netherlands there home I proud of the Netherlands and there people and I will always say that sometime people also my friends complain about this that are important but I always say how good we have in in my country the Netherlands and sometimes it's good to stand still and count your blessings we have it extremely good in the Netherlands compared to other countries so yes I'm proud of my country and it's people and my opinion is that the Netherlands is the best country in the world and not anyone would agree with me but that's also the Netherlands opinions are welkome for sure I have nothing bud ❤❤for my country and I'm proud of it.

7/10 so i still have some work to do :), glad i dont have to leave the country yet. What i really appreciate about our culture is "polderen" and the not too strict hierarchy. The boss/leader still makes the decisions but will consider input from those below her/him. One thing i really dont like is "act normal, thats crazy enough", it would be great if we could lighten up a little and have more fun. Thats why carnaval is so important! :)

It doesent really surprise me the girls dint know alot, the younger generation is raised alot diffrent then the previous generation where it was ok to be a bit nationalistic. The mostly leftist education of the past 30 years has left a bad connotation on being nationalistic. Also the younger generation is pretty detatched from our own country and it's history and culture and is raised with a very globalised way of thinking. I hope that the negative connotation created by the left side of the political spectrum will be over one day and we can all feel totally fine about being nationalistic, I love my country in many ways and I think its a good thing to express it. All the diffrent languages, accents, flags, cultures, customs etc. is what I like so much about especially Europe and the rest of the world. Makes it wonderful and way less boring right.

@@exploringtheforeign Denmark is even better. If you think Digid is great, wait til you see how our Mit-id works. Eventhough our taxes are higher here, we get loads more for it as well. Even loaning books at the library is free i.e. Health care is on par with the Netherlands, but we don't pay for expensive insurances. It is mostly in our tax as well. Our yellow card is world renowned. Besides that... We do not have a 24/7 mentality here (yet) across the board. Most still work normal office hours or from 6 am to 3 pm. The Rush hours in the afternoon starts around 3 pm to 5 pm but spread. You never hear about traffic jams as you do in the Netherlands. Traffic jams around Copenhagen seldomly reach 10 km. Mostly they announce 1-4 km. So I am actually glad I moved here. And Denmark is also known for it's cycling and public transport infra, not on par as in the Netherlands (yet), which is really great. Everything is just more spacious and relaxed than in NL.

You can't but love those girls - what they miss in knowledge, they make up in high-spiritedness. Maybe there's a lesson there. Me? About 8. You tricked me with the WK too, I thought 1996, wrong in every way. Mark Rutte (very topical) I was in doubt - 2010 2011? ... I did know the trivia ones ('HEMA' - ), but then again, I'm a trivia fan.

Missed 3, just a year off for Rutte, not a traveler so no idea about Schiphol's municipality and HEMA isn't really general knowledge I don't think. As a matter of fact, I already forgot what it was.

Kaaskop is originally someone from Alkmaar. It's almost the same thing as calling someone from New York from ''the city of Angles'', or calling a Texan ''a Yankee'' 🤭

Oh no, guess I have to immigrate to a country with clear beaches and great rivers to kayak. Anyway... While there are definitely things in the Netherlands of which I'm 'proud', I never thought myself to be patriotic. And looking at my answers for questions 6, 7, 8, and 10 was "I don't care". guess I was right. The only question is; my answer to question 4 was "Feels like 50 years. He's been in power for what? 12+ years? So 2010? 2009?" would you count that as correct or, since I said 2009 last; as wrong? Please send the answer to no where because I don't care. Also I think you may have gotten Answer 10 wrong. While I can find what H.E.M.A. stood for, the dots were dropped after the war and I think they've dropped the abbreviation entirely.

7 out of 10. * I missed the question about Rutte * I answered Hoofddorp as the municipality where Schiphol is located. Hoofddorp is the biggest town in the Haarlemmermeer, and the gemeentehuis is located there. I didn't know that the entire polder was a single municipality. * For the life of me I don't know what HEMA stands for. At least I can stay here ;).
