I feel for you. I just put down my "Buddy" in January of this year. 13 years 3 months old. So sad I know. I now have 9 Week Akita puppy.

I just lost my 14 and a half year old akita Bowser today. It feels like someone keeps kicking a hole out of my chest every couple of minutes. Everything I see reminds me of him, and I wish I had died so I didn't have to go through this.

@@simonphoenix3789 I feel for your loss I went through the same thing back in January and like you said everything around me reminds me of him but only time can heal that wound and the fond memories that you'll have of him you will see him again one day I hope this helps

Sorry for your losses :( I have been an owner of this beautiful pup only for 6 months so I can't even comprehend what it may feel like to you losing a companion like this after 10 + years. The average lifespan of an Akita is 10-12 years(as far as I know) and the fact that your Akitas lived 13 - 14 years shows just how much you all loved and cared for them! I'm sure you all were awesome owner and your Akita loved you!

Aww,what a beautiful and adorable girl! My family had a jet black American akita with white patches; her name was Teka. She was very protective, but loving. Quite a serious dog,but she loved spending time with my family and me. My grandpa owned her brother named Bear (the two were like Ying and Yang because Bear had the opposite color pattern of Teka. He was white with black patches.) and he would occasionally take Bear to our house to let Teka play with him. They roughhoused in a playful way; and loved eachother so much. But sadly,Bear died 4 years before Teka did. So Teka was very sad because of his passing. Teka lived about 14 years and passed away in our backyard last July. When she was about to die,she raised her tail one last time and cried a faint howl.. Our house will never be complete the way it was when she was here. And I miss her so much... Both dogs were truly blessings from God.

My childhood best friend was an Akita named Ginger. I was allowed to play outside unsupervised as long as Ginger was with me. Whenever I got too close to the street, she would come out and usher me towards the house. My parents knew that as long as she was with me, I'd be safe. She also lived to be 14. She was deaf and blind in her old age. Even as a cold, angry, hateful teenager, I still made a point to spend time with her every single day. I have never known a more loyal friend. I am 35 now and I still miss her.

Seeing this takes me back to when my American Akita Simba was growing up 😊 he is 5 now and still as cute as ever just a hell of a lot bigger lol

We lost our girl two months ago. Your video has had us both in tears, remembering all the good times and looking forward to welcoming another Bear to the family at some point. She's a beautiful pup and very lucky to have such a caring family x

@@ashmyr_bonbon4521 I've shared my home with Akitas for about 30 years. I would only say that IMHO you need to be experienced with dogs before thinking about taking one on. I'm not saying they are aggressive - but they are wilful and dominant. You really need to know what you are doing as there are far too many in rescues. I've always said that Akita pups are the most beautiful puppies in the world. The best thing about them for me is that they grow into Akitas. However, that can be the problem for others who are unprepared to deal with a large, strong and wilful dog.

American Akitas are so beautiful in my opinion they're the best dog companion you can have I have had Akitas 1993 I am so spoiled partial to American Akitas that I will never have any other breed of dog they make a really great an addition to our family and they're really great one with our kids that are very affectionate and intelligent

Misa seems to have more of a Japanese Akita Inu personality. She is not as serious as many American Akitas are. She's a great ambassador for her breed, gentle, well socialized & adorable!

I’ve had akitas for 40 years. With proper training they are incredible pets. Ours all got along with our cats, and other dogs through constant socialization from a young age. They lick their paws like cats, and are very confident and calm. The only negative is that big dogs tend to have short lifespans, typically 10-12 for akitas. Also if you have never owned a dog, don’t get an akita as your first dog. You need to learn Dog 101 before owning one.

Had an Akita girl for 10 years, not an easy dog to raise though we’ve had an Akita before her for 11years. We loved her for all her quirkinesses and you video made me miss her more.❤

Beautiful animal. Great breed. I had a Akita/lab got him at 7 mos. Previous family couldn’t really handle him. Also had a Alaskan Husky. They became best friends and played harder than most dogs fight. I had to occasionally break up fights the Akita hurt the Husky pretty bad once and pussy footed around the Husky till the Husky healed. He might fight with the Husky but no one else better mess with him. Him and I (male) were very close. I couldn’t ask for a better friend. Very protective of everyone and the property. The Husky protected my youngest daughter, he was hers. The Akita protected everyone else. Loved our granddaughters. No worries when they played in the yard.

Thank you! Yes, this little village where I live fortunately is close to nature and we have lots of land and space - this was one of the reasons I decided to get this breed

We have an akita/chow mix that is the complete opposite of loyal and aggressive 😂 he doesn't care if other dogs try to snap at him and is extremely friendly to everyone and doesn't have a certain favourite person

She is stunning,hope she is still improving with your grate care. We recently lost our two Akita’s at fourteen years old. it was a very difficult time for me and family, but we now have a new Akita called Bella she is now twelve weeks old and a beautiful thing. 🇬🇧

a akita is my next dog. i love the personality and look of the dog. for one weak ago i got a eurasier and it is funny how similar the dog is. most of the difference is size and the big amount of fur the eurasier have. the sad thing is that it is almost impossible to get a akita where i live.

Örülök hogy tetszett és hogy visszaemlékeztetett a kiskutyádra 😊 Gyönyörű kutyák mind a japán, mind az amerikai fajta! Misa még alig 7 hónapos, de már most nosztalgikus visszagondolni arra az időszakra mikor olyan pici volt hogy az ölemben tudtam tartani lol.

I live alone and have always wanted to go for walks, especially in the evenings, but feel it’s risky considering where I live (I live in a large city). I’ve also wanted an American Akita all my life. I’ve done a lot of research about this breed. I would like to think an Akita would protect me if we’re out walking and a bad stranger or aggressive animal tried to attack me.
