Also Akitas were bred for hunting animals, so when getting an Akita you'll have to really train it to not look at your cat like prey. Because they will try to rip it apart.

exactly. he is trapping the cat and eventually that cat will get a warning bite (or got). this akita looks so young. once they are aware of their size and strength, they tend to show that to any other animal near by. @@Timorias

Akitas are so catlike. I love them. Mine was the sweetest dog that I have ever known.

I have an american akita

in dog speech, paw in the air means "run and I'll chase you, it'll be fun!". in cat speech it means "back off or I'm going to smack you!".

Liked how the dog is trying to be careful.

Our male American Akita is also very playful with our cat, who isn't as playful, lol. Akita's have a very undeserved bad rap. They are not vicious unless they are trained by someone to be vicious. Their nature is curious and a bit suspicious of things, people or animals they aren't familiar with. But never vicious. They are a guardian breed with a protective instinct towards those that pose a threat to their family but that doesn't translate to unprovoked aggression towards anything I've ever seen.

If I didn't know any better, I'd say they were happily married couple.

my American akita is like the same but less white and more dark with the dark golden fur but also your akita is amazing and funny

My 2 akitas have absolutely no fear of cats... The more the his and carry on the more fun they think it is... Wish it wasn't so.... But I love my kids... 😊

They were such buddies. Tommy, the cat, died of old age last year. Maya misses him.

My akita makes the same grunts and paw actions. Except he doesn't run away he runs after the cats.

coming from a family that have had alot of dogs and cats at the same time roughly 7 dogs and around 8 cats at the same time mixed with alot more animals, the cat wasnt too bothered by it, dont think it was too much in a playful mood but it wasnt really getting ticked off or affraid, definetly not amused by it but kinda going alright.

Those two play all the time. They also snuggle. Sometimes the cat it's the instigator for play. I love my cats as much as my dogs, and would never allow abuse.

The cat was clearly trying to find an exit from the situation and the dog was not letting it. Usually, when cats play they will pounce. What this cat was trying to do was move away from the dog. WHile I don't think the cat felt in mortal danger, I don't think it wanted to be in that situation. They might play at other times but this is not play for the cat or the dog. I would advise against getting an akita as your first dog. They are one of the most difficult breeds to train and you have to be very firm. They take a lot of work on grooming alone. I recommend taking lots of time to evaluate how different breeds would best fit your lifestyle. My akitas get along with our cats because they grew up together, but they will chase ones they don't know.

I also would strongly advise against getting an Akita as your first dog. Maybe not even your third dog tbh. They are very strong willed, very intelligent, and very independent thinkers. You need to know and understand dogs first before even attempting this.

I really can't understand why people can't be honest the akita is the most beautiful dog in the world a look so cute but the truth is they were bred to kill bears and to own one it is a battle of wills to be the pack leader a d if you lose theres dier consequences be very careful

I would not bring a mature Akita into a house with cats unless they have prior history with cats. My girl is fine with my cats but she was raised with them. She knows to leave them alone unless they play with her, which only one does... 😆

I wish.....my Akita would lick any human to death...but any animal...gets absolutely wrecked. he loved people, just a killer instinct I guess from the hunting his family did. so damn territorial.

Sasha Chouler they are alone a lot. We have other cats too and another Akita. They are like family and are fine. They don’t play like they did on the Video much anymore , they mainly snuggle.

There is no deity [worthy of worship] except Him, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful. The Quran (Al-Baqarah,163) مَّا یَفۡعَلُ ٱللَّهُ بِعَذَابِكُمۡ إِن شَكَرۡتُمۡ وَءَامَنتُمۡۚ...
