Yes, I miss alot of the older airlines. I don't know if you're young or if you were around and flew in the 80s, but if you did, I'm sure that you remember alot of the popular airlines at that time which are now gone (some long gone) such as Northwest, TWA, Eastern, PanAm, and Braniff. And the airlines which are still around had different liverys such as United, USAir, Continental, and American. And the types of aircrafts back then which are now gone, the 727s, 707s, and DC9s were the main aircrafts for domestic US flights. And L1011s, DC10s, and 747s for long haul international flights. It's all very different now

So anyone wondering about why the slats are deployed at the gate: The Airbus has it's bleed air system in the wings and when it is above 30C Airbus planes leave their slats down in config 1+F to allow air cooling of the system. If the slats are left up the bleed air system will trip a master caution light.

Sky Harbor so many memories. Like the time in 1988 when the D.E.A. kicked out us out of Arizona. I tried to leave the airport but the D.E.A. agents told me that I was getting on that plane. Then they took everything bag/suitcase off of the plane to screen a for second time. They found nothing. I want to give a special shout out to "Sally" our waitress at West Court in the Buttes for being so fine.

+Mojo Projects It's not that incredible when it's 110F or 45F for 4 months straight. Then in the monsoon season when it rains since it is so hot the rain evaporates as it is falling and creates a downward wind that causes massive dust storms. Google Phoenix Haboob and you'll see (I live in Phoenix btw)

Definitely a lot of pitching and swaying on climb. I'm guessing part of that is due to crosswinds but also to try and make it climb faster: I notice the A321's climb rate registers higher when it is turning on climb rather than going straight (not just an illusion).

+Karebu219™ When it's hot in Phoenix, it's hard to get lift. Apparently when this video was shot, the temperature was 110. Heat causes turbulence. All airports must stop service if the temperature reaches 122. However, Phoenix has only been that hot once.
