Great video! This is my personal experience only: as a person who’s has been staying at home for the last few years after working previously, people think that I’m available 24/7 & don’t have a schedule. This has been exacerbated by the fact that I’m an empty nester. Never mind the fact that I volunteer & have many other commitments. The unspoken assumption is that since I don’t work 9-5 for a paycheck I don’t have anything better to do than sit on my behind all day. Unfortunately, the people who do this are well meaning family members & friends who are very close to me. Because of this, I have had to lie or ignore them simply because they don’t respect my time & think they can cross boundaries just because of the relationship they have with me.

Ha ha…we become a lot more sensitive when we come to the USA. In India people don’t think twice to ask or tell - you look fat or dark, what is your salary, how much did it cost etc… assessing people on how much money they have is very common in India. some Indians continue to say the same here in the USA and I hear it from highly educated and salaried people too..: I think to myself - these people will never change even if you put them in mars!!! I wish I can give a strong reply and keep their mouth shut!!! But unfortunately we look bad and not them!! I really dislike such discussions 😊

Great tips about boundaries and expectations. But I really think its unsafe for people seeking out for help or counselling from someone who doesnt hold a professional degree. I don't think you should be giving advice or counselling over emails, phone or text. This could end up breaking relationships. If people are in stress or upset or need counselling please seek help in person where you live. Go meet a counsellor and sit down to talk. The person treating you should know your mental and physical condition before offering advice. Do not seek advice to take life changing decisions from influencers and social media people. They are strangers. This is not advisable. This can even end up being fatal. No one is going to check on you to see what happened after that. Go seek help in person, talk to people who know you better and can assess your situation with everything in mind.

Hi Sainthavi I am recently watching your videos! I like it, the way you express . You are really sharing all the thoughts, bravo 💪👏 Maybe Californian culture is different 🤔, Indian community is better than west coat?, just wondering. Your videos are very interesting and more informative. I am still curious about Californian lifestyle and and social life. I encourage you to continue. You are reflecting all my questions.
