There are basically two cardinal rules when it comes to dealing with the United States. 1: Don't. Touch. Our. Boats. And 2: Don't fuck with gas prices. Many countries around the globe can tell you exactly what happens when you do, and yet people *keep doing it*, because surely it'll work this time! I'm not even defending the US here, I'm just stating historical precedent. Don't give the military an excuse to test out all of their fun new toys. Or do, I'm not your parents. Edit: Hah, I forgot TFE basically states those 2 rules at the end of that video. They aren't wrong.

It's amazing how good US Navy damage control is and I feel that is the one thing that separates America and the UK from literally every other Navy, especially Russia's *coughs out Moskva smoke-filled lungs* 2. Important details: the Perry class, while nice, was the smallest US capital ship type at the time (discontinued in favor of larger destroyers). Despite using the same word to describe them- the Iranian frigates were half the size of a Perry class, and a Spruance class destroyer is twice the size of a Perry. What I'm trying to say is, just counting ships, the Iranians were outmassed by ONE destroyer.

On reason that damage control crews are so good in the modern Navy can be linked directly to the USS Forrestal. At that time they had a separate damage control crew. Unfortunately, after the explosion that rocked the flight deck, they had no damage control crew. It was then decided that everyone should have some training in that area.

Do you know the story of the original Sammy B, DE-413 the Destroyer Escort who fought like a battleship, from WW2? Seem like these ships were crewed by absolute f'ing legends which is quite fitting seeing as they were names after Coxsawain Samuel B Roberts a Navy Cross recipient and a hero.
