Disagree. Ceiling does not just equal athleticism. Some of the best players ever: Duncan, steph, kobe, bird, magic, jokic. None are unique athletes and I'd say their ceiling is pretty damn high. Ceiling, more than anything, is determined by your ability to create. If you can't create shots for yourself (I'm not saying thompson can't, but his shot is really bad right now, and his bag consists of driving forward full speed. Not much nuance), you can't make it as a true #1. The ceiling for guys that can't create is a klay Thompson or a Dwight Howard.

Amen being in the 1% of athleticism already gives him a huge advantage on both sides of the ball. If he becomes just a leauge average shooter and develop a consistent floater game and you add how great he could become as a point of attack defender he could be a special player in the next 4 years.

Amen has crazy athletic traits, and I’d have him as the most athletic player in the NBA right now. His 3/4 sprint would be the fastest In over a decade, his standing vertical would also be the best in the nba for over 15 years. His lane agility and reaction drills would both be considered top 7 in the NBA right now. His 44 inch max vertical puts him at the 99.9 percentile putting him in classes with players like Zion, Morant, Green, And Sharpe. He is the most coordinated and controlled athlete I’ve seen in years. The change of direction in his euro is insane also. All while he’s 6’7 with a 7 Foot wingspan and a 44 inch vertical

4+ ORBs per 75 for a rookie G/F is absolutely bonkers. Is it too early to say his motor is reminiscent of Westbrook? Bc in terms of how dedicated the kid is to trying to do the right things every possession and consistently putting in the most effort of anyone on the court is hopefully a sign of what’s to come for his game for his career. Especially as he gets more experience and tightens up his efficiency in terms of outside shooting and taking care of the ball, he has a lot of promise to go alongside his physical tools

at least a handful of travels here. His change of direction is unreal different - you don't need athleticism to be great at start/stop and lateral movement, Luka is one of the best if not the best when it comes to that but this dude seems to just move like a speeding bullet wherever he wants without slowing down or losing his handle he's so athletic that it just kind of doesn't process just watching a few plays on a screen. He's kind of just always moving differently to the point of not sticking out or being ultra-highlight worthy. No dramatic launches where all of a sudden he's turning the springs on for a poster, it's just effortless physicality i cant wait to see this dude's development though, he's got unlimited potential. would love to have a crystal ball and see this dude year 3 or 4 of his career

Ant a better athlete in my opinion. Lebron, Zion and Ant type of calibre of athletes will always the best type of athlete. Those type of athletes who have big frames combined with strength, quickness, explosion, touch and body control, as well as crazy bounce. Will always be the best version of any athlete in my opinion

He's the new Russ if you think about it super athletic can't shoot..Just needs to work on his playmaking more and can have a long career

Realistically, he is bad enough at shooting right now, that I think it would benefit him to completely rework his jumpshot. His base is never consistent and his shooting arm starts so far into his chest, there's no way he'll find genuine consistency. Even if it takes him years to truly rework it, I really don't know if it would be worse than what it is now. To add on, because he's so athletic and relies on it so heavily, if he doesn't build a solid jumper soon, one unfortunate injury could ruin his career.

I honestly think his brother is a better athlete from watching both. Both are insane but Ausar just looks a bit more fluid

why are you talking about speed of jump as something different than vertical?

Because it is! 2 guys can both have a 48' vert but if one needs a longer load time/more steps to reach that apex, it's not as effective as someone who can just spring off the floor at a moment's notice.

@@HoopVenueliterally why derrick jones jr is not on the level of the twins and he jumps higher then both of them. His load up is much more exaggerated and easier to nullify with help defenders and even on ball defenders on his hips.

As a Sixers fan I remember Nerlans Noel during his rookie year and that dude had the freakiest bounce I may have ever saw. His 2nd and 3rd jumps were just as fast and high as high 1st.

He has Jordan-like athleticism but one ting that made MJ above other is the size of his hands. MJ damn near was born with an abnormality in terms of how big his hands were. IF Amen had MJ's hands he good be the best player in the NBA but he doesn't so he will have to settle for being an all-star! LOL
