Have to admit that Justin is really good presenter of your products!
Wow that was way above my head haha! This plugin is very complicated for beginners. And I was told Mastering is as simple as pushing a button “now-a-days.” 😂
Justin is the best presenter. what a beautiful compressor, i had a chance to work with it. loved how it makes my signal a little more solid

Excellent explanation.
I'm going to have to try this on my podcasts. It sounds like by setting each compressor carefully, I could really control the peaks while also having a very even level overall. It makes sense why you would want that for mastering, but it seems just as applicable for a spoken audio format.
great explanation!
This compressor is so fire 🔥 just threw it on my master, it’s insane!!!

great video. thank you.
This plugin is quite difficult to get your head around, but it does sound good. I decided to go for the XXL bundle partly because of it. The only other plugin I have that has any similarity to it is Kotelnikov. Thanks for explaining it Justin!
So nice video thank you so much
I love the Amek Mastering A compressor and the 250 EQ. Just sounds great❤

nice to have that dual mono setup for my buss comps i think i am going to swap out one or two and see what i can get out of this baby.. and if it doesnt make the coffee then it has to go ...lol
Love your videos Justin! excited about this one. Can’t find your mixing in headphones video from the other day. Wondering if you could tell me if you which you feel is more accurate in low end… Beyerdynamic DT 990 Pro 250 ohm Open-back VS Sennheiser HD 600 Open-back (or even overall accuracy). Price is not a factor. Thank you!!
Justin Colletti & Plugin Alliance: I would love a video on how you would use a passive eq like the Plugin Alliance Passeq. I believe it is usually used on Master Busses & Mix Busses. So as a Mastering Engineer how would you use it (a passive eq) in Mastering...but can & would it be used on Group Busses...or can it be used in Parallel Compression...or on Individual Track...and when would you make those decisions. If you make that video on the Plugin Alliance page or the SonicScoop page...I would be interested in hearing your opinion. In my opinion the Passive EQ's are very different than the other kinds of EQ's available...and I don't really have a clear model in my head on how to use them. I think because they sound so good...just like with compression...I think that Passive EQ's could be very easy...at times...to over use. I don't really have a model in my head on what could be too much...and when to back off. Thanks, Craig
👍
So, if I'm understanding this correctly, the signal is divided into 3 paths (4 if you count the DRY), compressed separately, Fast, Slow, Peak, and the delta from all the compressed path blended back together with the knobs (Fast, Slow) work as mix knob ?
@ericdahl4012

incorrect. The signal is split and sent into 3 detector circuits, switching which detector is active based on level.
I wish there was a way to disable the auto-gain, which I never use, in any plugin. I mainly use compression as a Loudness Leveler, which usually demands lowering the loudest parts, and auto-gain would always sabotage the goal. Thanks very much for this introduction. This new beast is quite tricky to tame, lol :)
Does one get both algorithmic variables from Amek 250 and 200 for the EQ-ing portion? Nice video btw

The AMEK Mastering Compressor was inspired by a different piece of hardware than the AMEK EQs.

@@PluginAllianceTV Ah ok. Completely different hardware. Also will it do tube compression as well in a future update? Thank you btw

@@Metalpazallteway Thanks for sharing your thoughts! Our emulations faithfully model both the functionality and circuitry of the hardware devices involved. While the Brainworx team had the option to add plugin-only features, it's not always feasible for the general result or even possible to modify the signal flow or incorporate functions like sidechaining, add a tube stage or make something go to 11. We do however collect your feedback and check what's possible.

In line with previous AMEK releases, the AMEK Mastering Compressor was inspired by a coveted piece of hardware privately-owned by Brainworx-founder Dirk Ulrich, enhanced in sound and expanded in options by the Brainworx development team.
So which hardware compressor was emulated because just saying a classic comp that is found in professional studios is not really saying anything. Sounds like a marketing term used to get us to buy. Don't get me wrong I love PA and I use their products in all my mixes. I just want to know what I'm buying nit jus how it works

@@PluginAllianceTV Your answer still doesn't address my question, still sounds like marketing talk. I just want to know the name of the hardware emulated..
George Massenburg must have been PISSED for you guys to be beating around the bush this much, eh? His 8900-emulation plugin is like $400.
