AMD USERS TURN ON FREESYNC NOW!
Ойындар
In my most recent amd optimization guide, I told all of you to turn freesync off because of the input delay. However, for a much smoother and clear image in fast paced games, the small amount of delay is nearly negligible. Freesync basically syncs the refresh rate to the fps of the application, so when your fps drops the image is still smooth and not "blocky". Freesync fixes screen tearing and stuttering.

I think it’s really important to test your fps in different games. If turning one FreeSync helps then leave it on. If Turning it off doesn’t help or helps leave it off. If it works don’t change it. I’m currently using it on because I’m testing to see wether it helps or not with frames. I think upgrading your GPU is probably the only way to really just have better fps and less input delay but that’s only if you want to really have good experience and have money because they do cost a lot
Thanks for the video, i'm a tarkov enjoyer as well. just jumped from nvidia to radeon 7900xtx. can you do a video on your ingame tarkov settings?

I'm still on an RX580 and 3770k. If I lock in to 30-45fps and turn shadows halfway down I can run just about anything.
i never realized that anti lag gives more lag lol thanks ima try it out
well this video does not apply to me i guess because my freesync is apparently not supported
Also my monitor from turning on FreeSync it says basic (which I’m on) and extended. Is extended like FreeSync premium in amd or no
@resonance32807
11 ай бұрын
Extended just means there is a wider range of refresh/fps matching values. So for example standard could be 0-70 hz and extended would be 0-240 hz. Just an example, those are made up vslues
I believe that turning on enhanced sync in the graphics settings will help with improving input lag and tearing/ghosting when freesync or even vsync is enabled.
@resonance32807

Other videos have shown enhanced sync dosent help with anything and only adds more delay, but I doubt you’ll need enhanced sync if you are already using freesync.
Screen tearing only happens when I play TF2 and idek why. I’ve tried everything and nothing works. My GPU/CPU aren’t even remotely dated and I frequently update my drivers so idk.

Maybe a setting in TF2 that is subtle-vsync, refresh rate option, etc.
I get bad screen flickering with free sync turned on, so i have it off atm, any idea how to fix? I’m currently running it at 144hz

Is your monitor native 144hz? Or is it overclocked to 144hz?

And also you must understand that flickering occurs when the dynamic hz drops below the range of YOUR specific freesync edition. So it might also be that you are playing at like 40 fps so the hertz is 40 hz but the range is only let’s say 48-75 hz. So ur hertz is below that minimum which then causes some problems. Without freesync PREMIUM-the low frame rate compensation, this would be the primary cause of flickering.

Try CRU the monitor freesync range to 55-142
when i open it, it automatically sets my hz to 59hz. should i upgrade it to 165hz i didn't understand it
@resonance32807

Go to display settings on windows and try to set ur refresh rate to 165
Freesync used to do what vsync does
So I'm still getting some tearing.. I've checked all the right settings. I'm not sure what's going on.

Cap fps 3 below refresh rate?
@dillonmann6409
Ай бұрын
@resonance32807 I can try that but isn't that the point of free sync?
You were initially correct. Freesync also adds some input lag, because the display is syncing its refresh rate to the game. It's relatively minor compared to vsync, but when playing with a mouse, you can definitely still feel the difference. It's a trade off between ugly screen tearing and judder (judder: refresh rate & fps mismatch), or some added input lag.
@resonance32807

Well I did look at some statistically accurate videos measuring the input lag, freesync adds nearly negligible to none input lag. And in return u get a great visual experience.

@@resonance32807 I cap my system frame rate to the same amount of refresh rate that my monitor has, but -2 or -3 values. So for example, my monitor has 144Hz as refresh rate, so I cap my frame rate to 141, this way I allow it to always be that high, oscillate but never go higher than 144. Besides the Freesync usage, I also save some GPU power consumption that I wouldn't ever use, feel or see anyway (anything above 144). Games run like butter. And BTW: I really appreciated the 'remove the games from the Adrenalin software' tip, I didn't exactly gain that much performance per say, but on Red Dead Online, for example, I was having some weird random crashes (Rockstar Games...) and it solved it!
does anyone know how to fix screen tearing.... please

So if i turn on Free-sync I wont get input lag if i set my fps to my monitors refresh rate?
@resonance32807

So you can set your fps at or above ur refresh rate…freesync is only, designed for situations when ur fps drops BELOW ur refresh rate. If ur concerned about the tiniest bits of screen tearing set ur fps 3 frames below ur refresh rate. So 144 hz = 141 fps cap
Bro, you were confusing FreeSync with VSYNC🤣🤣

VRR is a windows version of freesync however you still need actual freesync for this to work. Check your monitor settings for freesync
