    So thrilled to see the update. By chance I saw my puffer bite a juvenile endler in half the other day, now know why his teeth haven’t grown too long. I hope I never have to put either one of us thru the process of trimming.

    That is both sad and cool at the same time. It’s crazy how much strength they have in their bite! Unfortunately I have one that needs trimming. But it’s been almost 2 years so I can’t really complain!

    Beautiful Amazon Puffers! 😍 I just added 1 to my Rainbow mix community tank today. I have a video of it on my KZread page. I have a 55gal planted freshwater tank and a 20 gallon planted tank. I was extremely lucky bc I bought my Amazon Puffer already disease free/de-wormed. He is doing some major glass surfing though. My tanks are all well established(about 3-4yrs old) but my little dude keeps glass surfing. He will swim around and he is eating great, so should I be worried? Great video by the way! I just sub'd to your channel as well!

    Thanks for watching! I just posted a video the other day with a 2 plus year update on them. I do discuss glass surfing in that video. Basically I think glass surfing is something they do but I also think it’s made worse by stress so they will stop it eventually. I would only be worried if they won’t stop surfing for food. As they absolutely love food 😂 video is here kzread.info/dash/bejne/imyl2sSwcqXemJM.html

    beautiful puffers! I just got myself a 200 liter tank and im hoping to get some Amazon puffers for it, do you have any suggestions for plants? I'm also trying to research more and possibly try to breed them... I know it's a tall order but it couldn't hurt to try right?

    Any plants will be fine! I had Anubias, Amazon Swords and Jungle Val all these big leafy plants are great. Yeah the issue with breeding them is they have a planktonic stage, which makes it difficult. But best of luck!

    Looking into getting some Amazon puffers, glass surfing is something I've heard a lot about, do they really do it that constantly?

    Yes, it’s just something they do. But if they’re still eating and look healthy it’s nothing to worry about

    @@Fishkeepingmadeeasy cool! I got these in April last year and they’re growing at a fast rate. How are you keeping they’re teeth down besides clams?

  • @Fishkeepingmadeeasy

    @Fishkeepingmadeeasy

    I don’t use clams, I hold frozen cubes of food in the tank like in the video and they gnaw on that and it works well. Had them for 2 and half years but had to trim their teeth 6 months ago. Well two of them, one doesn’t seem like it’s teeth ever grow.

    Can these guys be kept alone and also can these be in a true community with tetras loachs etc.

  • @Fishkeepingmadeeasy

    @Fishkeepingmadeeasy

    You can keep them solo but I would recommend a group at least three as they definitely feel more comfortable with company. They are definitely community fish but they do nip. So as long as the fish don’t have long fins or move really slowly they should be fine. I keep mines with a big geophagus, plecs, corys, a fire eel and some barbs!
