Can you keep 1 cardinal in a 16 gallon bio cube with 2 clown fish ? Or will there be aggression/ overpopulation?

We used to have wildcats in my area until the SSPCA neutered/euthanised many of them. My gran would always have wildcat kittens in her shed that she would feed, she was always covered in scratches and bites but she loved them dearly. Her neighbour reported them to the SSPCA one year who came and took them, along with any other reported wildcats until eventually they completely died out in my area. I rarely hear anyone talk about the reality that the SSPCA had a hand in the wildcat population decline

❤ them! Your info is exactly accurate and have kept them (though not currently) since the early 90s. And yes very low salinity can be achieved if the water is hard, our Toronto tap water is 7.5ph with lots of calcium and magnesium, I use 1 tablespoon of salt per 10 gal. And yes Java fern and seagrass work well at that salinity. Some dead coral added is right on the mark too, I also raised Florida ghost shrimp in the tank prior and they can hide in the rocks and coral and reproduce and the puffers love eating them.

I have a group of 15 royal gold barbs in a 25 gallon tank (more tall than wide). They seem pretty content. I'm thinking of adding some hatchet fish to fill out the top of the aquarium and perhaps some cherry barbs for the bottom.

  • @belle1256

They will jump if they don't like their enclosure or if the water quality is bad. Also having kept some other larger spiny eels, they will occasionally speed to the surface of the water to help with bigger worms or bits of food, seems like they are forcing water to help them ingest whatever they are eating. Looking forward to getting a fire eel one day, currently have 4 Borneo, 1 tapir, 1 maculatus and soon to have a starlight eel.

new pufferfish owner here. i currently have a 180 liter tank with pea puffers, amazon puffers and one red tail puffer. I've been thinking about it when I heard that these shouldn't be kept together? Everything has gone well in my tank and there have never been any problems. I just asked, is it good?

  • @chico6085

Just lost my four full size phantoms this morning. Heartbroken. I think I know the mistake. They were in a 40 breeder and two adult Severums. Woke up this morning to all but one plecco dead (he died later though). Massive spike in nitrates. No signs of malnutrition or scars. I think I greatly underestimated the volume of waste that these guys produce compared to other fish. Will definitely use my 110 if I get them again in the future.

Also these were my first pleccos. I keep cichlids and bichirs in my other tanks and they seem pretty easy to deal with. Tanks are also older with well established cycle.

Tank is heavily planted and has 3 pieces of wood in it. Been feeding him extreme flakes, Algae wafers, Pleco wafers along with baby Brine, cyclops , tubifex, bloodworms and repashy. So far so good,

Yeah I understand, I’m not a massive fan of wild caught fish. If I’m being honest I was told mines were captive bred but after doing loads more in-depth research and speaking to fellow puffer keepers I discovered it was highly unlikely they were and likely wild caught!
