Amazon Favorites and Gift Ideas That Make My Life Better and Beautiful!

Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль

Welcome to my Amazon Favorites and Gift Ideas! I have dishes, clothes, art, skincare, and home decor, and more! You have to watch and hang out with me and Desi! I also wanted to have a heart to heart talk with you about a Facebook incident and how it led to my eyes being open about being a woman aging. Do you remember Green Stamps? The A & P? Did you ever help your Mom paste those stamps into a book? All those memories came flooding back this week and I am so grateful I get to sit down and talk with you all about it. Ok now, what is your favorite Christmas song and why?
Please know I love you all...and thank you for all you do for me and Desi. Every week, you lift my spirits and remind us to be better.
Thank you for your love and prayers for Bill and thank you for being sharing this journey with me.
Love you to the moon and back,
xxx Susan & The Dez

Thankyou Little Poet, my Mum was a pretty lady. When i was 5 I remember her with a beehive hairdo a yellow and paisley hotpants outfit . She glammed it up with eyeliner and lipstick. She looked like a model out of a fashion pattern catalogue. A few years after divorce and 3 kids in tow doing it solo It was just the eyebrow pencil and a lipstick. Then through decades she pulled in and lost herself the eyebrow pencil and lipstick. I wish not to lose myself, my confidence and selfcare as I grow older. We must look after ourselves as nobody else can. Its our personal journey to make the most of this body. To be our best self, use our skills and continue to learn, grow and cherish this precious life. Favorite Christmas song hmmm not sure to pick one I love them all because they are so happy and uplifting they make me want to dance about a bit at the shops. Much love and light with many blessings sprinkled over.

@@LittlePoet Yes I think that would be great. It would show two ways life could go. One way is honoring self with loving selfcare making the most of what you have and doing what you love. The opposite is to de-prioritize selfcare to a point of neglect while losing yourself, your self-esteem, confidence and sparkle in life.

I discovered you and Patti and Sandra and so many “older” beauties who inspire me to be the best that I can be- inside and out. I still feel beautiful and still love my makeup and creams and pretty blouses and flowy skirts. So thank you, sweet Susan, for another special Saturday visit. When I sit down with you and read through the lovely messages from these wonderful ladies I always come away a happier, kinder and wiser person. Your words about feeling disconnected really touched and echoed in my soul. I have always been the odd child. People have always pointed out I am not much to look at, not talkative enough, not fun enough. Even people who love me always make me feel like I am ‘less than’ at times. But you all inspire me and make me feel connected to you. 💕 We should all form a club and call ourselves the Twinkle Lights! 😃 Prayers and loving thoughts to all!

It brought tears to my eyes when you spoke of your mother. My mom had a hard life living in poverty. Worked all her life. Never had her nails done but in her seventies she went to salon to get her hair dyed and if she went to a wedding she would go to a nice dress shop and get a pretty b outfit. Now I am 78 the year my mom died and I know what you mean about feeling left out. You have great taste. I love your home and the clothes you buy.

Hi Susan and everyone, last week we lost a family member. My heart has been heavy and broken for my son in law and daughter The other night I questioned myself."Why has this death affected me so bad Firstly I loved the lady who died. She has been part of my life for 20 years. We went on holidays together We went to concerts and spent most holiday celebrations together. What hit me was this.We always said "we must do this and that". She lived abroad alot and I'm sick.So what happened is we ran out of time.We thought we had many years ahead of us,we didn't.My friend died suddenly and there is a gaping whole in all our lives.I told my daughter this yesterday. She said "well mum lesson learnt" My favourite Christmas song is "Oh holy night". At school I sang the solo in the school choir. And every year I had a terrible sore throat just the week before Christmas. The very day we were invited to sing at a community concert. It was a difficult solo part, but I managed.🎄🎄🎄

I can totally relate to feeling disconnected. I've never really fit in with people, and it was discouraging for many years. I went through a time where I did a lot of personal development, and discovered that I don't need to fit in, and that I can be happy without external validation. Granted, it ALWAYS feels good to be noticed, but my happiness and self worth aren't dependent on it, and that's been very liberating!!! I really enjoyed your Amazon suggestions! Especially the quilt, and the dishes by Pioneer Woman!! I LOVE that brand! It's old fashioned, but still a bit modern.🎄🎁🎄🎁 My favorite Christmas songs...Rockin around the Christmas tree, and anything by Michael Buble.

Hi suzie. I really look forward to your vlog each week. I'm a 74 year old widow and your little talk about not being relevant as you age rang so many bells with me. I'm 3 yes post chemo and my husband passed away during the week of my second chemo session. I feel stuck in one place, unable to move on. I have no single friends. And Life just seems to be devoid of any meaning. I'm still quite attractive but sometimes feel more lonely in a group than when I'm actually on my own. I will include a recent photograph just so that you can see that I do make an effort some days. Other days it's an effort to leave my bed. Stay safe... regards Kathie x

How sweet and wonderful of those nurses to paint your Mom's nails and do her makeup. I wonder if anyone does that today? Nurses are highly underrated! They are the ones who can either make or break your hospital visit, nursing home care, etc. Doctors are great but it's the nurses that make things happen. They are the work horses, the backbone of the healthcare system. God Bless them! And God Bless you! Thank you for sharing your life with us. I enjoy your videos so much! 😍😁

Bonjour my friend, You have created the most lovely space. To laugh.. to reflect.. to ponder important passions and to renew your faith in life. The inspirational word that I’m getting today is... EMBRACE. Not just the things that are perceived as “ right” as, that will always make sense. But the things that are hard. So, a lesson I have been practicing this week is this; when you know “ how” to suffer... You suffer much less. When you don’t run from it and let it come, Compassion arrives instead Then understanding... then a calm awareness and we can generate J O Y. I am embracing I am renewing The song I am singing the most is “ I’ll be home from Christmas “ ❤️🌻🌻 E

Every week you connect and resonate with all of us 'women of a certain age.' I cried when you were speaking about your mom and how easy it is to feel disconnected after retiring. Not only do I remember 'green stamps' but in 1986 our families pooled their stamps together and gave them to my husband-to-be and I to purchase our wedding bands! I had almost forgotten about that. I remember putting green stamps in the book. When I was in High School my Mom got me (I believe it was called a train case.) I had it until a couple of years ago and it got wet inside (I was unaware of it) and that was the end of it. I had it for about 58 years, so I got my use out of it. I just love your channel and you. Speaking of your mom made me cry , thinking of my mom, she had hard life tool. But my memories of her are the most wonderful thing I have in my life, she has been gone 26 years and I miss her so very much. But the story about the green stamps brought a huge smile to my face. I can remember sitting with her at the kitchen table, me with the sponge to moisten the back of the stamps and her putting them in the books very carefully. You have so many beautiful things in your apartment, so much character in your home. The quilt is just beautiful and fresh. LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the snow falling outside your window. So soothing to just sit and watch the flakes fall to the ground.!❄️❄️🌨☃️☃️ we are in Florida so no snow for us. Those two baby doll tops are so pretty and drape so nicely!! Have a wonderful weekend Susan, I’d like to think we would be best friends if we lived next door, I have rambled enough so Au Revoir! you Salut!

I've always taken care of my family, but with mom, dad and my husband gone I'm feeling useless. I have to push myself to get out and walk in this cold weather and the nights are long. Gosh, this video really brought tears to my eyes for so many reasons. I miss my mum too 💘 My favourite Christmas song is "The Little Boy That Santa Claus forgot." by Nat King Cole. When my son was a little boy - about 3 years old - He was helping to decorate the tree. I was a single mum and he an only child. We were listening to a Christmas music compilation and when that song came on my son began to ask a million questions about this little boy. He seemed rather upset, so I told him a story about how the little boy found a dog who had no one to love him and they became best friends and Santa had sent the dog to the little boy because they needed each other. Every time he heard that song, he would exclaim "He found his best friend didn't he mummy!!?" Oh the memories. 🎄💘🎄

Another video that touched my heart. With my husband gone and approaching 68, I understand the "less than". When such a big part of your life is over, it's impossible not to feel the loss of the woman you used to be. But on most days being a woman of faith, I believe there's more to come, more purpose to living, it may be different but still worthwhile. Until I figure out what that is, I continue to enjoy my role as mom and nana and friend to those in my life.

I'll Be Home for Christmas is such a sad yet beautiful song and I have always loved the poignancy of it. Women today need each other to surround us with love and courage. It is my women friends who give me the knowledge of how worthwhile I truly am. As we age we cannot let the world negate us but need to kick up our heels and have the fun we deserve. And, yes, that fun may come from getting together with out sister friends. There comes a time in our lives when you don't have to gage your worth on whether you have a man on your arm. We are even more valuable as a group of women friends! Susan, your home is so lovely. And the Christmas decorations are fantastic! I just love the strength you show and the courage you give to other women. And, of course, Desi, is a precious addition!

My favorite Christmas song is The Christmas Song by Nat King Cole! Your A&P reference definitely struck home: when I went off to college I left my dog (Mandy) with my parents. She was my first dog, a Beagle Bernard mix and she was a bit crazy about being in a car too long! My Father used to take her to the A&P with him for Saturday weekly shopping! She would sit in the driver seat when Dad went in, and if she thought he'd been gone too long, she'd hit the horn!!! It was such a regular event (and the manager or whomever was in the office ) that they would get on the loudspeaker and tell my Father that Mandy was ready to go!! I miss them both terribly but am so glad my Father had a buddy to keep him on track!! Take care and thank you for stirring that up!!

She passed last year and because I was taking chemotherapy for my lymphoma, I wasn't able to be there with her, but the nurse did let me speak to her on the phone. The nurse called me 20 minutes later and said my Mom has passed. She was waiting on me and I then knew just how much my Mom really did love me.
