Is there a trick to removing the battery compartment for this remote? I need to change the battery but I can't get it to open up!

You should press the small one and then pull smoothly with your nail the other mark but if get stuck then move both sides firmly until it completely open. Mine get stuck all the time.

REALLY HELPFUL TIP! It doesn't work if you have the setting on the lcd screen. Only works when on viewfinder mode (when you're looking through the tiny little square to take a pic and the lcd is off).

It helped, thanks! Canon T6i user here. I did find it interesting that we have to set it to the 10 second option for it to work 2 seconds. Lol. But it's fine because I don't need a 10 second timer for my portraits. I prefer 2 :)

I got one of these and it’s never light up or anything so I assume it doesn’t work does it show a light or anything when turn on?

On my 6D I put it on 10 sec self timer and when I press the remote button the camera only counts down 2 seconds? Do you know why?

How can you use this for photography if you have to be directly in front of the camera to use the remote? Also, if I have strobe lights and I'm using a hot shoe transmitter will this activate the shutter and strobes?

just turn the wheel to video capture mode before press RC button

it only give you 2sec timer. Does not work for 10sec. And watching your video, you selected 10sec, but it only gave 2sec.

and how I can use? so that during the video focus distance.

L BS how do you get rid of the light on the camera that shines before a picture is taken... its not a flash but like a yellowish light near where the button to take a picture is on the camera

Did not mean to be obtuse Gaturks. I meant that I was able to take still photos with your instructions, but I am not able to activate video recording with my remote control.

@@lnreportingtupacsmurderwas4975 when I activated the drive mode on my t4i I had to select the option that worked with remote. It took me a while because I didn't realize the cam tells you which option it is because I wasn't reading the entire description. After I read it, I made the proper selection and it just worked. I only needed it for recordings. Also be advised... this is not my instructional video.
