I wonder if he knew how it would look before hands. This is probably a result of mixture of previous trial and errors and some design work. I doubt it was designed precisely. In the old days, it would be very difficult to design something like this precisely, but now with computers, it’s possible. Just enter the structure of the glued block of woods, and the cross section profile of the vase. The computer will produce a picture of the end product in less than a second. Then you can modify on the computer the structure of the glued block of woods and the profile of the vase to obtain what you think is the most esthetically pleasing end product.

I will say this came out fantastic, however, I can tell you've been using your table saw and jointer for too many years and have become too comfortable with them. Remember, those two machines can and do remove body parts if you don't remember a few safety guidelines. Always respect power tools or any tool in general, once you get complacent is when those things tend to bite you.

If you are in wood working, having less fingers is kind of a reputation issue. I'm an architect and 10 years ago we had to rush a work and one of my workers lost the tip of his finger. He said;"I was a carpenter, now I'm a master, thanks to you". I was so sad but he didnt say it out of sarcasm. (Work being late was not my fault btw, my boss always makes the contracts promising less time than other companies to get the job)
@naomilives4142 ай бұрын
I don’t understand the people that criticize his technique. This man is an artist. He isn’t just carving wood and materials into nice pieces but he’s also arranging them in certain ways so that at the end the shape also has unique designs. I can’t do that. My mind couldn’t even begin to think if I wanted the varied shades of wood and a specific pattern to do xyz. 🤯 I guess these are the same folks coaching from their couches while eating wings and drinking beer on Sundays.
@kenhart6330 Жыл бұрын
I would have saved a lot of material by leaving out at least 10 pieces of those that you used and cut away. At the very least 4 could have been saved for a later work. It was a really good piece you've done and deserves for you to be proud of it. Well done.

I have an enormous respect for such creativity and craftmanship ......
Good grief just admire the man's work! This is a beautiful work of art.
That is beautiful! I couldn’t figure out at first what it could possibly be, I am blown away, it’s beautiful! Love the way the different wood colors come out.
This is a very old and beautiful technique. Glad someone still knows how and still teaching it.

Sorry to upset you but it is only in the last 100 years or so that we have had the synthetic adhesives that would hold together under the turning process.
"Thanks Bob, this looks great!". "I'll need twenty of these by Monday" (currently Saturday)
I did not expect the design. It is so gorgeous.
I love it that Benny Hill has branched out into woodworking 😂
Fabulous!! Aren't you impressed with the amount of people concerned with your fingers getting cut off? 😂
This was so unexpectedly beautiful, I think this is the best I've seen, magical how all that glued pieces turned out!
Watching you cut that wood on the table saw increased my Pucker Factor by a 100%
Beautiful work of art!
Amazing what a little imagination and skill can accomplish! Beautiful.
Oh my goodness that is absolutely gorgeous! I did not know what to expect. Beautiful! I must admit I was worried about your fingers a few times 😮Beautifully done ❤🎉

Watching him cut the blonde board, my stomach did a flip. He’s going to lose a few digits at some point.
Wow! That is beautiful. Amazing work.
this is the most elaborate wood cake i have ever seen being made before,10/10 would have a slice.
I had no idea the pattern on the vase would look like that while it was still turning. That's really wild.
Segui adelante. Gracias. ¡Feliz Año Nuevo 2023 para todos!
Lovely vase. I was a bit worried about your hands as you sliced the wood. One slip and major trouble for you.
Such a beautiful vase!
The pucker factor as his fingers came sooooo close to the blade!!!
A lot of work, but the end result is beautiful, nice work !
Stunningly Beautiful!
Excelente trabajo 100xciento. De. 👍🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟. Todo un Maestro Trabajando con la Madera. Éxitos. 👍🇵🇷🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟Puerto.Rico.
❤ That vase is absolutely gorgeous!
Wow!! Was I the only one who was expecting 5-6 cutting boards?!?! Didn’t see that coming… AMAZING work my friend!

I don't think people use lathes to make cutting boards 😂. Lathe mills round objects...
I love how you committed to investing your work into the beginning of the piece. It really paid off as you sculpted it out in the final stage. Bravo ❤
This is similar to a steel Damascus billet for welders.. stacking multiple layers. Nicely done!!
That was absolutely amazing!!! While you were cutting and gluing then when it was turning and you stopped my mouth hut the floor! Absolutely beautiful!
If memory serves, last time I watched a video that terrifying, it had sharks in it. Beautiful result, though. Thumbs up. (No pun intended.)
Hey Bob! How much glue do you need? Bob: All there is.
This is so FREAKIN' COOL!! JUST AMAZINGLY BEAUTIFUL CRAFTMANSHIP and CREATIVITY!!
Muito bonito o trabalho. Parabéns.
One suggestion for you sir.. plz take little pauses/ break when you are rotating and peeling the wood... You should have shown the wood turning into this beautiful vase... Just stop for 2 secs, show it and again start.. thank you
AWESOME WORK.....😁👌👍
Great Job! Definitely not what I initially expected!
Beautiful & Awesome! Amazing Jar! Thank You! God Bless!
So beautiful the end product. Wow
Shoulda done more for the inside it's very nice looking though
Marvellous..! It must be years and years of practice and wanting to do a perfect job. The final result was so symmetrical, and I never expected such a degree of accuracy..!
For some reason, the finished product reminds me of an Owl....and telling Homeboy to watch his damn fingers lol
If you haven't, watch an unedited, normal speed version of one of these being made. Really helps you understand why the expense in stores.
Love that special Vase Holding Flip-Flop, very technical piece of kit.😂
I don't have anxiety, but this dude installed it for me
I'm a woodworker making toys (for the last 10yrs). I've often thought about getting a lathe and thought that could be fun. Then I think " why bother, you can only make chair legs with it".....Wow from a block of wood !!!! Truly amazing work of art. Right I'm off to look at lathes :) :)
Absolutely gorgeous!
Beautiful Master piece Amazing!
Still waiting for the "Extremely Bold Idea With Amazing Work"
I will say this came out fantastic, however, I can tell you've been using your table saw and jointer for too many years and have become too comfortable with them. Remember, those two machines can and do remove body parts if you don't remember a few safety guidelines. Always respect power tools or any tool in general, once you get complacent is when those things tend to bite you.
That is beautiful!!! A very ingenious design!!
I love woodworking. Took 4 years of it in high school. Still do some today. And no I’ve never lost any fingers yet. Lol

You're not trying hard enough 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Beautiful creation ❤. You have a natural talent.
OMG unbelievably beautiful - love, love, love it!!!❤
Olá amigos. Parabéns pelo trabalho e dedicação. SHOW de bola. Abraços a todos. Feliz 2023 e os outros.
I would have saved a lot of material by leaving out at least 10 pieces of those that you used and cut away. At the very least 4 could have been saved for a later work. It was a really good piece you've done and deserves for you to be proud of it. Well done.
Looks amazing…well done 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
Beautiful piece of work
I love watching this channel more than I love meditation. This channel is my new favorite form of meditation.
We always had a piece that was very mysterious and interesting and we kept wondering how it was made. Today these mysterious questions have been answered thoughtfully and precisely.
Very beautiful !!
Happy all the fingers appear to still be there!
A true artist!
Your creative imagination is truly a gift….well done sir!

Absolutely beautiful just beautiful
They probably make a shirt with even more billoughy sleeves. You should try those when working half an inch from an exposed sawblade since that seems to be your thing. 😮😣 Anyway, beautiful work! 👍
I love how you use your thumb 👍 as a "stopper". It is a bit dangerous, but nevertheless it gives you the true feeling of how deep the tool cuts into the material. You have great perception of depth and pressure using this method!! Great job! Please take care of you,be safe!! Lovely!!! You just gained a follower.
I did this idea back in the 80's at school
Gorgeous!!!
Wow! Wow! Wow! When I saw the pattern after the turning wheel stopped, I was amazed! This would make a fantastic lamp base. How can I commission you to make me two? 😀
Absolutely beautiful.
That sawing action will give me nightmares tonight. 😳😳😳
I couldn't take my eyes off of those long sleeves and gloves.
WOW!! Didn't anticipate that beautiful outcome. What a vision for all of that wood. Agree with the need for a Safety 101 lesson.
Absolutely gorgeous ❤
Beautiful work! However, should you be wearing a long sleeve shirt while working on a lathe project? The answer is, "NO", because it's very dangerous.
