    Cool approach, video! Came in from the west over North Phila. (At 1:40 you can see Broad St below., north into Cheltenham, Jenkintown, all the way up to Horsham & the old Willow Grove NAS) Then north almost over the Delaware River with NE Phila. Airport at 4:13. Then facing east deeper into NJ, you can see some forrest fires. Then turns back to the SW on it's approach to PHL.

    KZread's algorithm decided that I needed to see this video, so I did. Great views of PHL... takes me back to my teen years living in NY. I visited PHL a few times. Yes, I did indeed see the Liberty Bell. 25 years ago this very month, I flew from Rome to PHL, about 8 hours and 45 minutes flying time. I ended up with a middle seat in the very middle of the 767 aircraft and both passengers on each side of me were coughing the entire flight. I was glad to get off of that flight! I connected to a 757 to Seattle. That flight was MUCH more comfortable. This was the end of my cruise of the Eastern Mediterranean that I did. I left from Athens, went to Egypt, Israel, the Greek Islands, Naples and Rome. Yes, I even shook hands with late night talk show host Art Bell on that cruise. Anyhow, another great video, lots of good views coming in. Now... it's time for me to rest up from the jet lag.

    In the beginning they said the landing gear came down. I didn't hear anything and they usually come down at about 2-3 miles from touchdown at the out marker just before crossing the Walt Whitman Bridge area at about 2500 ft. At the first left turn I saw the Betsy Ross Bridge, so at this point they are about 7-8 miles from the airport.

    This video is the best i've seen from Skylite since i found your channel. That poor woman was scared i could hear it in her voice" are we under control "yeah i would say so. My oldest son is a aviation mechanic, the air planes that operate under American Airlines are some of the best, safest and maintained fleet you will find, He flew home on a 737 Max said it was a beautiful plane, then disaster struck 2 new 737 Max planes fell out of control shortly after take off killing everyone on both planes. I hope everyone that reads this feels the same, my son and i love air planes " this is for FAA, Boeing, get those 737 Max back in sky, soaring fast and high where they belong.

I have PT tomorrow, see a specialist in Kansas City on Monday, see another specialist in Wichita on Tuesday, PT again on Wednesday, and then three days of flying after that. This is a special trip that I’m not at liberty to discuss yet.

    I mean, when you’re talking about the regional products from American, United, and Delta. There really isn’t much to compare. They all basically offer the same product. Some of that has to do with scope clauses. Because of scope clauses limiting the number of seats in regional jets, the seating layout on most regional planes is exactly the same across all the airlines. The other issue that makes it difficult to really differentiate regional flights is that they are mostly operated by third-party airlines. SkyWest, for example, flies for all three of the majors and Alaska. If you were to take all of the airline logos off of the plane and interior, it would be very difficult for you to tell who SkyWest was operating that flight for. So, all of this to say, I think it’s very difficult to judge the regional products against one another because they’re all so similar. If I was going to pick one, I would pick American Eagle over United Express, and really the only reason why is because I think American has a better overall product right now, and that does transfer somewhat to the regional product. I’ve flown United several times recently, including United Express, and I feel the the overall atmosphere on United is worse than American right now.

    @@sla31 Basically it's like a "brand-less product" (or a white label product) and that the defining factor for all of them has to do with the service?

  • @sla31

    @sla31

    4 жыл бұрын

    Levin Soh Essentially yes. I mean, the frequent flyer, even without logos, would be able to tell the difference between a united seat and an American seat. But, when you’re talking about regional jets that are flown in basically the same configuration on all the airlines there isn’t much they can do with the seats. A first class seat on a delta connection 175, although may look different, is basically going to be the exact same seat as on an American Eagle ERJ-175. So yes, regionally I think the service defines the difference between them more than anything else. But like I said, they aren’t really American or Delta employees. They work for SkyWest, or republic, or Trans States... so, they may even go through similar training to a mainline American Airlines employee, but they still don’t work for American, they don’t have the same benefits as American employees, and at the end of the day their check comes from SkyWest or whoever. So, I think it’s hard to try to differentiate service on regional carriers. You really need to look at the mainline products to determine who is better.

    Well, of the ones that you listed, the new Airbus A220 series would be my favorite. Followed by any ERJ. CRJ’s.... I avoid CRJ’s at all cost. As an aviation enthusiast I’ll fly on anything. But as a regular passenger, I absolutely hate flying on CRJ’s. They are, IMO, the most uncomfortable planes to fly on. I’d gladly fly on an ERJ-135 over any CRJ.

    You’re of course entitled to your own opinion but I fly all the time and I think amazing is a good adjective for this video. The conditions couldn't have been more stunning during this approach. Clear blue skies, light turbulence to make it a little more interesting, other aircraft crisscrossing in front of the window, spectacular views of the greater Philadelphia area, that are only enhanced due to the clear visablity and excellent lighting. If you don't like this type of content then don't watch it. Maybe you should record yourself starting your car. Your one subscriber might enjoy it. In case you didn't notice, I have over 10,000 subscribers. I'd say that's a little more than a "mutual admiration society." Believe it or not, there are people who enjoy flying, and enjoy aviation. People who really enjoy this type of content. There are 86 people who liked this enough to leave a like. And considering this video was at 100% likes a few minutes ago, I'm guessing the one person who disliked it was you. Believe me, it won't hurt my feelings if the stuff on my channel isn't for you, but if that's the case then just watch something else. There are 32 million KZread channels to choose from.
